  • Wyatt Kaiser D | CHI

Blackhawks' Wyatt Kaiser: Lands on injured reserve

Kaiser (lower body) was placed on injured reserve Wednesday, retroactive to Feb. 4.

Kaiser suffered a lower-body injury just before the Olympic break, and the Blackhawks announced Tuesday that the 23-year-old won't be available when the team resumes play in late February. While it's not yet clear when he'll be able to return, he'll be eligible to be activated off injured reserve at any point, while Kevin Korchinski and Sam Rinzel were recalled by Chicago on Wednesday.

  • Wild's Matt Kiersted: Up from minors

Kiersted was summoned by Minnesota on Wednesday.

Kiersted has a goal and six points in 31 outings with AHL Iowa in 2025-26. He also has an assist in four appearances with Minnesota this season. Kiersted will participate in practices with Minnesota during the Olympic break, but it remains to be seen if he'll stick with the NHL club once Minnesota's schedule resumes Feb. 26 in Colorado.

  • Ben Gleason D | MIN

    Wild's Benjamin Gleason: Recalled Wednesday

Gleason has been called up by Minnesota on Wednesday.

Gleason has a goal and 17 points in 44 outings with AHL Iowa this season. The 27-year-old hasn't played in the NHL since the 2018-19 regular season. Although he'll participate in practices during the Olympic break, Gleason will probably return to the minors without playing for Minnesota.

  • Oliver Bonk D | PHI

Flyers' Oliver Bonk: Up from minors

Bonk was summoned by Philadelphia on Wednesday.

Bonk has two goals and six points in 22 outings with AHL Lehigh Valley in 2025-26. The 21-year-old might make his NHL debut when the Flyers' schedule resumes next Wednesday in Washington. However, it's also possible that he's simply up to get into some practices with the NHL squad during the Olympic break and will be returned to the minors without getting into a game.

  • Flyers' Hunter McDonald: Recalled by Philadelphia

McDonald was recalled from AHL Lehigh Valley on Wednesday.

McDonald was sent to the minors in late January, but he'll rejoin the NHL club to provide additional depth for at least a week in practice before the NHL season resumes Feb. 25. The 23-year-old hasn't yet made his NHL debut, and it seems likely that he'll be sent back to the minors once the Flyers resume play.

  • Jets' Josh Morrissey: Won't play Wednesday

Morrissey (undisclosed) isn't available for Wednesday's quarterfinals game against Czechia.

Morrissey hasn't been in the lineup since exiting Thursday's 5-0 victory over Czechia during Canada's opening game of the round robin. The 30-year-old defenseman has 10 goals and 42 points in 56 outings with Winnipeg in 2025-26. If Canada beats Czechia on Wednesday, then Morrissey might be able to return Friday for the semifinals.

  • Kris Letang D | PIT

    Penguins' Kris Letang: Practices Tuesday

Letang (foot) participated in Tuesday's practice and feels close to being ready to play, Michelle Crechiolo of the Penguins' official site reports.

Following a four-game absence due to a fracture in his foot, Letang appears to be trending toward a return to the lineup against New Jersey on Feb. 26. However, he remains on injured reserve for now. Letang has registered three goals, 25 points, 81 shots on net, 64 blocked shots and 67 hits through 50 appearances this season.

  • Neal Pionk D | WPG

Jets' Neal Pionk: Could return during road trip

Per head coach Scott Arniel, Pionk (lower body) has a chance to return during Winnipeg's upcoming three-game road trip, Ken Wiebe of The Winnipeg Free Press reports Tuesday.

Winnipeg's road trip will begin in Vancouver on Feb. 25. Pionk missed 12 of the Jets' last 14 games prior to the Olympic break due to a lower-body injury. After a 39-point campaign across 69 regular-season games a year ago, the 30-year-old blueliner has struggled offensively this season with six assists, eight points, 76 shots on net, 84 hits and 64 blocked shots across 40 appearances. If he can return to Winnipeg's lineup during the three-game road trip, he'll likely step into a top-four defensive pairing and should remain a solid source of category-coverage stats.

  • John Carlson D | ANA

Capitals' John Carlson: Set for return after Olympics

Carlson (lower body) is expected to return to the lineup following the Olympic break, Sammi Silber of The Hockey News reports Tuesday.

After leaving the Capitals' matchup Feb. 5 due to a lower-body injury, Carlson was spotted skating in a regular jersey during Tuesday's morning skate. Prior to the Olympics, the 36-year-old blueliner posted 10 goals, 46 points, 115 shots on net and 84 blocked shots across 55 games this season. With head coach Spencer Carbery indicating that Carlson should be good to go, the veteran defenseman will likely return to his usual role on the team's top defensive pairing at even strength following the Olympic break.

  • Maple Leafs' Morgan Rielly: Ready for return following Olympics

Rielly (upper body) was deemed "good to go" by head coach Craig Berube, Anna Dua reports Tuesday.

Rielly exited Toronto's contest Jan. 31 early due to an upper-body injury, which would keep him sidelined for the team's last two games prior to the Olympic break. The 31-year-old blueliner has 24 assists, 31 points, 106 shots on net and 74 blocked shots across 54 games this season. Once NHL action is back in full swing, Rielly will likely return to his usual role on the team's top defensive pairing and first power-play unit.
