  • Capitals' Trevor van Riemsdyk: Gets on scoresheet with assist

Van Riemsdyk logged an assist and went plus-2 in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Maple Leafs.

The helper was van Riemsdyk's first point in December, ending an 11-game slump. Despite the lack of offense, the 33-year-old blueliner has remained in the lineup as a fixture on the Capitals' third pairing. He has 12 assists, 49 shots on net, 69 blocked shots and a plus-11 rating over 35 appearances. Van Riemsdyk hasn't scored a goal since he had seven across 75 regular-season outings in 2022-23, so his offensive contributions will likely remain limited.

  • Ducks' Jackson LaCombe: Earns assist in loss

LaCombe notched an assist and two blocked shots in Saturday's 3-1 loss to the Flyers.

LaCombe had gone three games without a point after a run of five points in a span of three contests. The 23-year-old defenseman is still logging top-four minutes and power-play time, which puts him in a good spot to display his scoring instincts. He's up to six goals, six assists, 45 shots on net, 48 blocked shots and an even plus-minus rating through 27 appearances. No defenseman on the Ducks' roster is a must-have for fantasy, but LaCombe has decent upside for managers in deeper formats.

  • Cam York D | PHI

Flyers' Cam York: Puts up assist in win

York notched an assist and two blocked shots in Saturday's 3-1 win over the Ducks.

York has earned a helper in three straight contests after being a healthy scratch against the Kings on Dec. 19. He has occupied a top-four role lately, though he's still not seeing much power-play usage. For the season, the 23-year-old blueliner has just eight points with 26 shots on net, 42 blocked shots, 16 PIM and a plus-1 rating over 22 appearances.

  • Kaiden Guhle D | MON

Canadiens' Kaiden Guhle: Delivers helper in win

Guhle notched an assist, four blocked shots and a plus-3 rating in Saturday's 4-0 win over the Panthers.

Guhle ended a 14-game point drought with his helper on the first of Kirby Dach's two goals in the second period. Despite the lack of offense, Guhle has maintained a top-four role this season for his defensive skill. He has seven points, 31 shots on net, 38 hits, 72 blocked shots and a minus-2 rating over 29 appearances. Until he can be more consistent on offense, Guhle has limited appeal in fantasy.

  • Flames' MacKenzie Weegar: Grabs apple in win

Weegar notched an assist, three hits and a plus-2 rating in Saturday's 3-1 win over the Sharks.

Weegar has three helpers over his last two outings to overcome a six-game slump. The 30-year-old defenseman had the primary assist on the first of Jonathan Huberdeau's two goals in Saturday's contest. Weegar is up to 19 points (eight on the power play), 77 shots on net, 94 hits, 85 blocked shots and a plus-7 rating over 35 appearances, making him a reliable all-around producer for fantasy managers.

  • Flames' Rasmus Andersson: Ends slump with power-play assist

Andersson logged a power-play assist, two shots on goal and three blocked shots in Saturday's 3-1 win over the Sharks.

Andersson's helper ended his eight-game point drought. In that span, he went minus-10 with 20 shots on net and 14 blocked shots. Despite the slump, the 28-year-old defenseman didn't lose his place in the top four or on the second power-play unit, and he should get back to being productive moving forward. Overall, he has 16 points, 69 shots, 94 blocks, 26 PIM and a minus-6 rating over 35 outings this season.

  • Penguins' Matt Grzelcyk: Registers assist

Grzelcyk logged an assist and went minus-2 in Saturday's 6-3 loss to the Islanders.

Grzelcyk has a goal and nine assists over his last 12 outings, and he's also gone plus-2 with 17 shots on net and 11 blocked shots in that span. The 30-year-old's numbers have improved alongside the Penguins' better play in December, but both player and team are prone to the occasional lapse. The blueliner has 18 points, 46 shots on net, 49 blocked shots, 18 hits and a minus-10 rating through 37 appearances, and he remains on track for a career year.

  • Penguins' Erik Karlsson: Slides helper in loss

Karlsson logged an assist, two shots on goal, two hits, two PIM and a minus-2 rating in Saturday's 6-3 loss to the Penguins.

Karlsson continues to pick up points in December -- he has a goal and eight assists over 11 outings this month. The defenseman is up to 25 points, 87 shots on net, 46 blocked shots and a minus-6 rating through 37 contests this season. Karlsson's solid play on offense will help him retain fantasy value, but he won't make outsized contributions in the defensive stats.

  • Islanders' Alexander Romanov: Deals helper Saturday

Romanov produced an assist, two shots on goal and two blocked shots in Saturday's 6-3 win over the Penguins.

Romanov has three helpers over his last three games after going 15 contests without a point. The 24-year-old's role hasn't changed -- he's still a shutdown defenseman in a top-four spot -- but he's getting a little more luck on his side. Overall, he has five helpers, 32 shots on net, 68 hits, 54 blocked shots, 18 PIM and an even plus-minus rating over 25 appearances.

  • Rangers' Ryan Lindgren: Collects shorthanded helper

Lindgren notched a shorthanded assist and two blocked shots in Saturday's 6-2 loss to the Lightning.

Lindgren picked up his first point over 12 outings in December when he set up a Vincent Trocheck goal in the third period. The 26-year-old Lindgren has also gone minus-4 with 19 blocked shots and 13 hits this month. Overall, the stay-at-home defenseman has a modest five points with 42 hits, 50 blocks, 24 shots on net and a minus-3 rating through 30 outings in a top-four role this season.
