Thompson (upper body) has been activated off injured reserve and is expected to tend the twine at home against Nashville, Sammi Silber of The Hockey News reports.

Thompson will suit up for the first time since Jan. 27 against the Kraken, a game in which he gave up five goals on 32 shots in a losing effort. The backstop's return to action Thursday should clear the way for him to join Team Canada in Milan for the Olympics.

Lyon will be between the pipes at home against the Penguins on Thursday, Paul Hamilton of WGR Sports Radio 550 reports.

Lyon is 4-1-0 with a 2.02 GAA and one shutout in his last five outings and has racked up 14 wins this year, matching his 2024-25 total. In fact, the veteran backstop could set a new career-best mark and top the 21 victories he recorded with the Red Wings back in 2023-24, especially if Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen remains sidelined after the Olympic break.

Bussi will be between the visiting pipes against the Rangers on Thursday, Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site reports.

Bussi has won his last six starts and is a gaudy 22-3-1 with a 2.24 GAA and a .904 save percentage. This is his first season in the NHL, but at the age of 27, Bussi is not eligible for the Calder Trophy. The Rangers are generating 2.66 goals per game in 2025-26, good for 26th in the NHL.

Silovs was the first goalie off during Thursday's morning skate, Michelle Crechiolo of the Penguins' official site reports, indicating that he'll draw the road start against Buffalo.

Silovs has had mixed results in recent weeks, going 2-2-2 with a 2.15 GAA and .921 save percentage over his last six starts. He'll face a touch opponent in the Penguins' final game ahead of the Olympic break, as the Sabres are tied for sixth in the NHL with 3.39 goals per game this year.

Sorokin will get the starting nod in New Jersey on Thursday, per Stefen Rosner of NHL.com.

Sorokin has allowed eight goals on 77 shots in his last two starts, going 1-1-0. Sorokin is 19-13-2 with a 2.48 GAA and a ,915 save percentage this season. He has a league-leading six shutouts across 34 games in 2025-26. The Devils are 31st in NHL scoring, averaging 2.54 goals per game.

Allen will defend the home crease against the Islanders on Thursday, Kristy Flannery of The Hockey News reports.

Allen has struggled since the beginning of the calendar year, going 1-5-0 with a 3.25 GAA and .883 save percentage over his last six starts. He'll have a favorable matchup in the Devils' final game before the Olympic break, as the Islanders are scoring 2.84 goals per game this year, which is tied for the eighth-worst mark in the league.

Petersen was reassigned to AHL Iowa on Thursday.

Petersen backed up Filip Gustavsson the last two games, as Jesper Wallstedt was out of action with an illness. Petersen was 4-13-0 with a 2,82 GAA and an .897 save percentage at the AHL level before his recall.

Quick is expected to defend the home crease versus Carolina on Thursday, per Vince Z. Mercogliano of The Athletic.

Quick got off to a nice start this season, winning three of his first four assignments, but it has not gone well for the 40-year-old netminder since mid-November. Quick is 1-12-2 with a 3.78 GAA and an .865 save percentage in 15 starts since his 3-1-0 start. Overall, Quick has a 4-13-2 record with a 3.22 GAA and an .883 save percentage. The Hurricanes won't provide much relief for Quick, as they are fifth in NHL scoring, tallying 3.41 goals per game.

Ersson (lower body) will not be available Thursday against the Senators and should return after the Olympic break, according to Charlie O'Connor of PHLY Sports.

Ersson managed to participate at practice Thursday, but won't be part of the Philadelphia lineup Thursday versus Ottawa. He will miss his third straight game. Ersson is 8-10-5 with a 3.51 GAA and an .856 GAA across 24 appearances this season.

Vasilevskiy was the first goaltender off the ice at morning skate and will patrol the home crease versus Florida on Thursday, Benjamin Pierce of the Lightning's official site reports.

Vasilevskiy has won seven straight games, allowing 12 goals on 174 shots (.931 save percentage). He is 26-7-3 with a 2.14 GAA and a .917 save percentage over 36 starts this season. The Panthers are generating 3.02 goals per game this season, 19th in the NHL.
