DeSmith will defend the road net against the Ducks on Tuesday, according to Stars beat writer Robert Tiffin.
DeSmith will get the second half of Dallas' back-to-back after Jake Oettinger played in Monday's 3-1 win over the Kings. The 34-year-old DeSmith has a 10-2-5 record, a 2.48 GAA, a .911 save percentage and one shutout through 18 appearances this season. Anaheim ranks 11th in the league with 3.24 goals per game this campaign.

Adin Hill G | LV
Golden Knights' Adin Hill: Getting close to return
Hill (lower body) won't play in Wednesday's road matchup against the Kings, but he is nearing a return to the lineup, per SinBin Vegas on Tuesday.
Hill has been out since Oct. 20 against Columbus and could be an option for Thursday's home contest against Toronto. He has a 1-0-2 record while stopping 79 of the 89 shots he has faced in five appearances this season. With Carter Hart (lower body) week-to-week, Hill could seize control of Vegas' No. 1 goalie role once he receives the green light to play.

Lukas Dostal G | ANA
Ducks' Lukas Dostal: In goal Tuesday
Dostal will patrol the home crease against Dallas on Tuesday, Zach Cavanagh of The Sporting Tribune reports.
Dostal has surrendered 29 goals on 194 shots over his last eight appearances (0-5-1). He has a 13-13-2 record this campaign with a 3.25 GAA and an .887 save percentage through 29 outings. Dallas sits third in the league with 3.41 goals per game this season.

Joel Hofer G | STL
Blues' Joel Hofer: Drawing home start Tuesday
Hofer will tend the home twine against the Hurricanes on Tuesday, per Lou Korac of NHL.com.
Hofer has surrendered at least three goals in three straight outings, a span in which he is 1-2-0 with a 3.41 GAA and an .877 save percentage. The 25-year-old will face a Carolina squad that is on the second half of a back-to-back -- the Hurricanes lost in overtime in Detroit on Monday by a 4-3 score. Carolina is 12-6-3 away from home in 2025-26 and has generated 3.35 goals per game, which ranks seventh in the NHL.

Karel Vejmelka G | UTA
Mammoth's Karel Vejmelka: First off at morning skate
Vejmelka was the first netminder off during Tuesday's morning skate, according to Brogan Houston of Deseret News Sports, which indicates he'll defend the home crease against Toronto.
Vejmelka has been playing well over the last month, winning three straight games and eight of his last 10. The 29-year-old has posted a 2.40 GAA and a .910 save percentage during that stretch. He got the night off Sunday against Columbus, so he should be fresh against a Maple Leafs club that is on the second half of a back-to-back. Toronto defeated Colorado 4-3 in overtime Monday and has won four consecutive games.

Tristan Jarry G | EDM
Oilers' Tristan Jarry: Activated off LTIR
Jarry (lower body) has been removed from long-term injured reserve Tuesday.
Jarry's activation doesn't mean the Oilers are going to immediately deploy him in the crease against the Predators on Tuesday, especially considering they didn't send Connor Ingram back to the minors. Still, fantasy managers should anticipate seeing Jarry between the pipes sooner rather than later.

Jesper Wallstedt G | MIN
Wild's Jesper Wallstedt: Burned by Devils
Wallstedt turned aside 24 shots in Monday's 5-2 loss to New Jersey.
The game was close through two periods, but the Devils broke it open with three goals in just over two minutes during the third. Wallstedt didn't get a lot of help from his defense on the night -- all five New Jersey tallies came from in close, as Minnesota couldn't keep the front of the crease clear. It was Wallstedt's first regulation loss since Dec. 21, and on the season, he's gone 12-3-4 in 19 outings with a 2.42 GAA and a .921 save percentage.

Dustin Wolf G | CGY
Flames' Dustin Wolf: Back in net against Columbus
Wolf is slated to start in Tuesday's road matchup against the Blue Jackets, Derek Wills of Sportsnet 960 The Fan reports.
After his first game of rest in the new year, Wolf is back in the starting lineup and set to tend his ninth contest in the team's last 10 games. He has been called upon tirelessly this season and is tied with Nashville's Juuse Saros for the most games played. Wolf has a 14-18-2 record, a 2.97 GAA and an .897 save percentage through 35 games this season. He'll face a Columbus squad that ranks 21st in the NHL with 2.91 goals per game this season. This fact, combined with receiving four full days of rest since his last outing, gives Wolf a solid outlook ahead of Tuesday's start.

Jacob Markstrom G | NJ
Devils' Jacob Markstrom: Cruises to win Monday
Markstrom stopped 20 shots in Monday's 5-2 win over the Wild.
The Devils never trailed in the game, taking the lead for good on an Ondrej Palat tally late in the second period. It was a strong bounce-back effort from Markstrom after he got shelled for nine goals by the Islanders in his last outing Jan. 6, but that disaster was the only time he's given up more than three goals since the beginning of December. Over 11 appearances during that stretch, Markstrom's gone 4-6-0 with a 3.20 GAA and an .884 save percentage.

Jeremy Swayman G | BOS
Bruins' Jeremy Swayman: Starting in divisional matchup
Swayman will patrol the home blue paint Tuesday against the Red Wings, according to Scott McLaughlin of WEEI.
Aside from giving up six goals in Seattle on Jan. 6, Swayman has bounced back from the rough patch he endured at the end of December. The 27-year-old is 3-1-0 across his last four appearances after going 0-2-2 with an .852 save percentage and a 3.45 GAA over five prior outings. Swayman should have the upper hand for Tuesday's matchup, as the Red Wings had to travel after Monday's 4-3 overtime win over the Hurricanes, while the Bruins have been off since Sunday. He's faced Detroit twice already this season, posting a 1-1-0 record while allowing a total of seven goals on 49 shots (.857 save percentage).
