  • Hurricanes' Brandon Bussi: Bounces back versus Devils

Bussi stopped 28 of 29 shots in Sunday's 3-1 win over the Devils.

Bussi lost his last outing Thursday versus the Canadiens, giving up six goals on 22 shots. The 27-year-old bounced back, which is an encouraging sign for both Bussi and the Hurricanes, as they will need him at his best now that Pyotr Kochetkov (hip) is likely lost for the year. Bussi is up to 14-2-1 with a 2.25 GAA and a .906 save percentage through 17 outings. The Hurricanes' next game is a tough matchup Tuesday at home versus the Stars.

  • Golden Knights' Akira Schmid: Loses in overtime

Schmid stopped 17 of 20 shots in Sunday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Blackhawks.

Schmid was able to snag a standings point for the Golden Knights, but he's now allowed 12 goals over his last four outings (three starts). The 25-year-old squandered a pair of one-goal leads Sunday before Tyler Bertuzzi completed his hat trick from in close at 1:18 of overtime. Schmid is down to 11-4-5 with a 2.52 GAA and an .894 save percentage through 21 appearances. At this point, the Golden Knights are likely waiting for one of Schmid or Carter Hart to find a groove and run with the starting job, which should be up for grabs since both netminders have struggled lately. The Golden Knights' next game is in Winnipeg on Tuesday.

  • Blackhawks' Arvid Soderblom: Little work in overtime win

Soderblom stopped 13 of 15 shots in Sunday's 3-2 overtime win over the Golden Knights.

Soderblom was lightly tested Sunday, and that appears to be a good way to keep him from giving up too many goals. He allowed tallies to Brandon Saad and Mark Stone, but a Tyler Bertuzzi hat trick carried the Blackhawks to the win. Soderblom now has two wins over his last three outings despite allowed eight goals on 61 shots in that span. For the season, he's at a 5-7-1 record with a 3.87 GAA and an .873 save percentage in 14 contests. Spencer Knight is likely to get the nod Wednesday versus the Blues, but Soderblom should get a start during the upcoming back-to-back that features games Friday at home versus the Capitals and Saturday on the road in Nashville.

  • Avalanche's Scott Wedgewood: Takes rare loss versus Panthers

Wedgewood stopped 23 of 25 shots in Sunday's 2-1 loss to the Panthers.

Wedgewood did his part with a decent effort, but the Avalanche got burned on two turnovers and didn't have the offense to bail out their netminder. This loss ended Wedgewood's winning streak at five games, but it was just his second regulation loss all season. He's now 18-2-4 with a 2.17 GAA and a .918 save percentage across 26 starts. Considering he started both halves of a weekend back-to-back while Mackenzie Blackwood (lower body) is out, Wedgewood looks set for heavy usage in the short term, while Trent Miner is firmly in the backup role. The Avalanche's three-game road trip ends with another hard matchup Tuesday versus the Lightning.

  • Panthers' Daniil Tarasov: Sharp in win Sunday

Tarasov stopped 27 of 28 shots in Sunday's 2-1 win over the Avalanche.

Tarasov had virtually no margin for error most of the game, and he was able to limit the damage to an Artturi Lehkonen tally in the first period. The 26-year-old Tarasov had given up eight goals on 60 shots while going 0-1-1 over his previous two outings. He's had some uneven results in the backup role this season, and he's at a 5-6-2 record with a 2.81 GAA and a .904 save percentage through 14 appearances. Sergei Bobrovsky will likely be back between the pipes for Tuesday's game versus the Maple Leafs, which kicks off a six-game road trip for the Panthers.

  • Kings' Erik Portillo: Earns shutout Sunday

Portillo recorded a 19-save shutout in AHL Ontario's 3-0 win over Iowa on Sunday.

Portillo recently missed time due to an injury sustained Nov. 12, and this was his first game back. He earned the third shutout of his AHL career with this effort. He's at a 6-1-1 record with a 2.01 GAA and a .922 save percentage across 10 appearances this season. Now that he's healthy, Portillo will compete with Pheonix Copley for playing time.

  • Golden Knights' Akira Schmid: Starting in Chicago

Schmid will defend the road net against the Blackhawks on Sunday, per Tracey Myers of NHL.com.

Schmid hasn't picked up a win since Dec. 11 in Philadelphia, as he's 0-2-0 while allowing a total of nine goals on 59 shots (.847 save percentage) over his last three appearances. The 25-year-old holds an 11-4-4 record with two shutouts, a 2.50 GAA and an .895 save percentage through 20 games in 2025-26. Chicago has won back-to-back contests against Dallas and Washington following a two-game skid.

  • Blackhawks' Arvid Soderblom: Drawing start Sunday

Soderblom is set to patrol the home blue paint versus the Golden Knights on Sunday, Tracey Myers of NHL.com reports.

Soderblom has struggled lately, as he is 1-5-0 with a 5.40 GAA and an .842 save percentage across his last seven outings. Vegas ranks 15th in the NHL with 3.10 goals per game this season and has lost four straight contests (0-3-1) while scoring 12 goals during that stretch.

  • Jake Allen G | NJ

Devils' Jake Allen: Set to face Carolina

Allen will tend the home twine Sunday against the Hurricanes, according to Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site.

Allen is coming off a solid 33-save performance in Wednesday's 3-2 win over Columbus. The veteran netminder went 3-4-1 with a 2.93 GAA and a .902 save percentage over eight outings in December. The Hurricanes have lost three consecutive games and blew a two-goal lead in the third period of Saturday's 5-3 loss to the Avalanche.

  • Mammoth's Jaxson Stauber: Earns second shutout of AHL season

Stauber logged a 21-save shutout in AHL Tucson's 4-0 win over Calgary on Sunday.

Half of Stauber's four wins this season have come via the shutout, doubling his career shutout total at the AHL level. The 26-year-old goalie is 4-7-4 with a 3.19 GAA and an .881 save percentage over 15 appearances with the Roadrunners this season. Stauber's lackluster numbers are likely a big reason why Matt Villalta got the call to Utah when Karel Vejmelka was briefly sidelined by an upper-body injury.
