  • Jet Greaves G | CLB

Blue Jackets' Jet Greaves: First win in almost month

Greaves made 24 saves in a 4-3 overtime win over the Ducks on Tuesday.

Greaves hadn't won since Nov. 20 -- he had rung up a 0-4-3 record since that date. Still, the talented netminder continues to impress, racking up an 8-8-5 record with a 2.76 GAA and .905 save percentage in 20 starts. Greaves has assumed the starter's role in Columbus, and we don't think he'll look back.

  • Kraken's Philipp Grubauer: Starting Tuesday

Grubauer will protect the home goal versus the Avalanche on Tuesday, Joe Pohoryles of Emerald City Spectrum reports.

The Kraken have started to alternate goalies, giving Grubauer his third start in six games in this contest. It's a tough assignment for him against one of his former teams -- the Avalanche lead the league with 4.00 goals per game this season.

  • Blackhawks' Spencer Knight: Defending crease Tuesday

Knight will protect the road net against Toronto on Tuesday, Scott Powers of The Athletic reports.

Knight is coming off a 23-save effort in Friday's 3-2 loss to St. Louis. He has a 10-7-5 record with two shutouts, a 2.52 GAA and a .915 save percentage through 22 appearances this season. Toronto is tied for fifth in the league with 3.29 goals per game this year.

  • Ville Husso G | ANA

Ducks' Ville Husso: In goal Tuesday

Husso will guard the road goal versus the Blue Jackets on Tuesday, Mark Scheig of The Hockey Writers reports.

Husso's playing time has predictably dropped since Lukas Dostal returned from an upper-body injury. With this being the second half of a back-to-back, Husso will get the nod after Dostal defeated the Rangers on Monday. The Blue Jackets have lost five straight games, going 0-4-1 with 12 goals scored in that span.

  • Canadiens' Sam Montembeault: Sent to AHL for conditioning

Montembeault was loaned to AHL Laval on Tuesday for a conditioning assignment.

Montembeault will spend some time in the minors before meeting the team in Pittsburgh on Sunday, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports. Montenbeault hasn't played since Dec. 9 against Tampa Bay. He has allowed 21 goals on 137 shots in his last seven appearances en route to a 1-3-0 record. Jakub Dobes and Jacob Fowler will handle the goaltending duties for the Canadiens until Montembeault returns.

  • Rangers' Jonathan Quick: Defending cage Tuesday

Quick will be in goal for Tuesday's home clash with the Canucks, Mollie Walker of the New York Post reports.

Quick takes the second half of a back-to-back after Igor Shesterkin gave up three goals on 25 shots in a 4-1 loss to Anaheim on Monday. It will be Quick's second appearance in goal over the Rangers' last 12 contests. The veteran backstop enters the game stuck in a three-game losing streak during which he has posted a 0-2-1 record to go with a 2.63 GAA.

  • Dustin Wolf G | CGY

    Flames' Dustin Wolf: Facing Sharks

Wolf will defend the road net against San Jose on Tuesday, Derek Wills of Sportsnet 960 The Fan reports.

Wolf has won his last four starts while allowing only six goals on 106 shots. He has a 10-12-2 record with two shutouts, a 2.86 GAA and an .899 save percentage through 25 appearances this season. San Jose is tied for 21st in the league with 2.88 goals per game this campaign.

  • Avalanche's Mackenzie Blackwood: Tending twine Tuesday

Blackwood will guard the road goal against Seattle on Tuesday, according to Jesse Montano of Guerilla Sports.

Blackwood has won his last three outings while stopping 71 of 77 shots. He has posted a 9-1-1 record with two shutouts, a 2.19 GAA and a .920 save percentage through 11 appearances this season. Seattle ranks 32nd in the league this year with only 2.47 goals per game.

  • Lightning's Andrei Vasilevskiy: Removed from IR

Vasilevskiy (undisclosed) was activated off injured reserve Tuesday, according to Erik Erlendsson of LightningInsider.com.

Brandon Halverson was returned to AHL Syracuse on Tuesday, which paves the way for Vasilevskiy to return to the lineup Thursday against the Kings. It's unclear whether Jonas Johansson will draw an eighth consecutive start or if Vasilevskiy will be between the pipes for that matchup, but the latter is poised to reclaim the No. 1 gig in short order. The 31-year-old Vasilevskiy owns an 11-6-2 record, .916 save percentage and 2.31 GAA over 19 starts in 2025-26.

  • Sharks' Yaroslav Askarov: First off Tuesday

Askarov is scheduled to guard the home cage Tuesday versus Calgary, per Max Miller of NHL.com.

Askarov has been shaky in December, going 2-2-0 with a 4.55 GAA and an .866 save percentage across four appearances. The 2020 first-round pick seemed destined for a loss in Pittsburgh on Saturday, but the Sharks overcame a 5-1 deficit to beat the Penguins in overtime. On the season, Askarov holds an 11-8-1 record, .900 save percentage and 3.24 GAA through 20 outings. The 23-year-old will look to put together a strong performance against a Flames squad that has generated 2.48 goals per game in 2025-26, which is the second-worst mark in the NHL.
