  • Cam Talbot G | DET

Red Wings' Cam Talbot: Set to face Florida

Talbot is expected to start at home against Florida on Wednesday, per Ansar Khan of MLive.com.

Talbot will attempt to earn his third straight win after stopping 58 of 63 shots (.921 save percentage) over his past two starts. He performed solidly against the Panthers last year, posting a 2-1-0 record with a 2.35 GAA and .935 save percentage across three outings. Talbot had a 21-19-5 record, 2.93 GAA and .900 save percentage in 47 appearances overall with Detroit in 2024-25.

  • Devils' Nico Daws: Up from minors

Daws was recalled from AHL Utica on Wednesday.

Zack MacEwen (upper body) was put on injured reserve in a corresponding move. Daws was summoned because Jake Allen left Monday's 3-2 win over Columbus because of cramping. If Allen isn't available for Thursday's clash against Florida, then Jacob Markstrom will probably get the start while Daws serves as the understudy.

  • Rangers' Igor Shesterkin: Gets no help Tuesday

Shesterkin stopped 20 of 21 shots in Tuesday's 2-0 loss to the Oilers. Edmonton's final goal was scored into an empty net.

The star netminder has been excellent to begin the season, giving up just three goals on 106 shots over four starts. Shesterkin has just a 2-2-0 record to show for it, however, as the Rangers' offense remains stuck in the mud -- New York is averaging just 2.00 goals per game so far, tied for the third-worst mark in the NHL. After a bumpy 2024-25 campaign that saw him post a career-worst 2.86 GAA and .905 save percentage, Shesterkin seems intent on re-inserting himself into the Vezina Trophy conversation.

  • Oilers' Stuart Skinner: Blanks Blueshirts on Broadway

Skinner turned aside all 30 shots he faced in Tuesday's 2-0 win over the Rangers.

The 26-year-old netminder was especially busy in the third period, kicking out 13 shots. New York tried desperately to find an equalizer before Adam Henrique put the game out of reach with an empty-netter. It was an impressive showing from Skinner after he got stuck with an OT loss in the Oilers' season opener last Wednesday. He's allowed three goals on 52 shots to begin the campaign. Skinner needs to improve his consistency to lock down the top spot in the Edmonton crease.

  • Canadiens' Sam Montembeault: Hangs on for OT win

Montembeault stopped 18 shots in Tuesday's 5-4 overtime win over the Kraken.

Neither goalie was particularly busy -- even with an extra period, the final shot tally was 22-22 -- but Montembeault did just enough to earn his second win in three starts. The Habs' defense has done a good job so far of keeping the 28-year-old netminder from being too busy, blocking 23 shots Tuesday, and while Montembeault's .870 save percentage to begin the campaign is shaky, it's a trend that bodes well for the future.

  • Joey Daccord G | SEA

Kraken's Joey Daccord: Falls to Habs in OT

Daccord made 17 saves in Tuesday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Canadiens.

It was a tough night for the 29-year-old netminder, who had little chance on the first three pucks that beat him. Daccord went down too soon on Ivan Demidov's tying goal late in regulation, and he left a gap at the near post that Cole Caufield found with a sharp-angle shot in OT. Even with the Karken carrying three goalies on the initial roster, Daccord has started all three of the team's games so far in 2025-26, going 2-0-1 with a 2.23 GAA and .918 save percentage.

  • Penguins' Tristan Jarry: Falls to Ducks

Jarry stopped 18 of 22 shots in Tuesday's 4-3 loss to the Ducks.

The Penguins took a quick 2-0 lead in the first period, but they couldn't keep it. Late penalties took a toll, and Chris Kreider's second power-play goal of the game beat Jarry with 1:27 left in the third period to decide the contest. With seven goals allowed on 59 shots, Jarry is off to a mediocre start over his first two outings of the campaign. He's been sharing the crease with Arturs Silovs, and that seems likely to continue unless one goalie rattles off a long winning streak. The Penguins' road trip continues in Los Angeles on Thursday.

  • Lukas Dostal G | ANA

Ducks' Lukas Dostal: Prevails over Penguins

Dostal stopped 22 of 25 shots in Tuesday's 4-3 win over the Penguins.

All three of the Penguins' goals featured some sort of redirection, so it's tough to pin any of them on Dostal. The 25-year-old evened his record at 1-1-0 with six goals allowed on 56 shots over his first two starts of the season. Given Petr Mrazek's lackluster performance in a 7-6 overtime win over the Sharks on Saturday, it shouldn't take much for Dostal to claim a majority of the starts. The Ducks are back in action in a tough matchup against the Hurricanes on Thursday before embarking on a road trip.

  • Sharks' Alex Nedeljkovic: Yields five goals in loss

Nedeljkovic stopped 38 of 43 shots in Tuesday's 5-1 loss to the Hurricanes.

Nedeljkovic is off to a rough start in 2025-26, allowing nine goals on 74 shots while going 0-1-1 over two games. He was able to keep the Hurricanes at bay for the first period. Until one of Nedeljkovic or Yaroslav Askarov finds some rhythm, the Sharks' crease is likely to be a timeshare. San Jose will visit Utah on Friday for its next game.

  • Maple Leafs' Cayden Primeau: First win with new team

Primeau made 26 saves in a 7-4 win over the Predators on Tuesday.

It was Primeau's debut as a Leaf. It was his first NHL game since Dec. 12, 2024, when he was with the Canadiens. The Leafs claimed him off waivers from the Hurricanes on Oct. 6. Primeau will remain with the big club until Joseph Woll (personal) returns.
