  • Dan Vladar G | PHI

Flyers' Dan Vladar: Collects first win as Flyer

Vladar made 24 saves in Monday's 5-2 win over the Panthers.

Both Florida goals came on special teams, as Sam Reinhart scored a shortie on a third effort right before the end of the second period, and then Sam Bennett slotted home a power-play tally midway through the third. It was otherwise a strong showing between the pipes for Vladar, who is 1-1-0 through his first two starts for Philly while allowing four goals on 60 shots. Vladar figures to work in a timeshare with Samuel Ersson to begin the season, but if either netminder gets hot, they could stake a claim to the No. 1 job.

  • Panthers' Daniil Tarasov: Flops in Philly

Tarasov stopped 17 of 20 shots in Monday's 5-2 loss to the Flyers, with Philadelphia's final two goals getting scored into an empty net.

Making his Panthers debut, Tarasov allowed a goal in each period and didn't put forth his best effort, but neither did his teammates -- Sean Couturier's first tally of the night in the second period came on a clean breakaway, while his goal in the third came just after a Philly power play had expired. Sergei Bobrovsky hasn't played fewer than 50 games over a full season since he arrived in Florida, but Tarasov has never played more than 24 games in an NHL campaign, so he should be comfortable with the light workload he's likely to receive in 2025-26.

  • Jet Greaves G | CLB

Blue Jackets' Jet Greaves: Burned by Devils on Monday

Greaves turned aside 25 of 27 shots in Monday's 3-2 loss to New Jersey, with the Devils' final goal getting scored into an empty net.

The 24-year-old netminder played well, as both pucks to get past him came on Devils power plays, but he didn't get quite enough help from his teammates. Greaves is 0-2-0 in his first two starts of the season, but he's allowed just four goals on 59 shots as he continues the impressive form he showed at the end of 2024-25. Columbus is rolling with a timeshare in the crease for now between Elvis Merzlikins and Greaves, but it may not be long before the latter seizes the top job outright.

  • Devils' Jacob Markstrom: Nabs win in relief

Markstrom picked up the win Monday over the Blue Jackets, stopping eight of nine shots after replacing Jake Allen (cramping) to begin the third period in a 3-2 victory.

Markstrom took over with the Devils ahead 2-1, but a late goal by Dmitri Voronkov made Dawson Mercer's third-period tally the winner. Markstrom had a rough season debut against the Hurricanes on Oct. 9, coughing up five goals on 32 shots, but since then, the veteran netminder has won two straight appearances while allowing four goals in four periods of action.

  • Mammoth's Vitek Vanecek: Allows two goals Monday

Vanecek stopped 11 of 13 shots in Monday's 3-1 loss to the Blackhawks. The third goal was an empty-netter with six seconds left in the game.

Vanecek made his first start of the season Monday, but his performance was far from encouraging. Even though he didn't have a lot of work, the 29-year-old netminder still allowed two goals and was tagged with the loss as a result in what was another low-scoring contest. Vanecek should return to his regular backup role when the Mammoth take on the Flames on Wednesday.

  • Blackhawks' Spencer Knight: Strong showing in win Monday

Knight stopped 22 of 23 shots in Monday's 3-1 win over Utah.

Knight was beaten in the early stages of the third period by JJ Peterka, who slotted a wrister past him at the 1:02 mark in the final frame. Other than that, Knight was sensational between the pipes to earn his first win of the 2025-26 campaign in his third outing. He'll aim to make it two wins in a row when the Blackhawks visit the Blues on Wednesday.

  • Wild's Jesper Wallstedt: Allows three goals in season debut

Wallstedt stopped 31 of 34 shots in Monday's 4-3 shootout win over the Kings.

Wallstedt was beaten three times in the final frame, including allowing the equalizer with 46 seconds left in regulation. However, Wallstedt came through in the clutch during the shootout and stopped all four shots to eventually carry the Wild to victory. This was Wallstedt's first start of the campaign, but he should revert to this regular backup role when the Wild take on the Stars on Tuesday in the second leg of a back-to-back set, with Filip Gustavsson likely to start that contest.

  • Kings' Darcy Kuemper: Gives up three goals

Kuemper stopped 23 of 26 shots in Monday's 4-3 shootout loss to the Wild.

Kuemper allowed three goals on the power play, and even though the loss came after a shootout, it means Kuemper remains winless to start the season after three starts. Kuemper has allowed at least three goals each time he's stepped on the ice, and it's safe to say fantasy managers who decided to trust Kuemper are feeling disappointed so far. Kuemper's next chance to secure his first win of the season will come against Pittsburgh on Thursday.

  • Canucks' Kevin Lankinen: Gives up four goals Monday

Lankinen stopped 30 of 34 shots in Monday's 5-2 loss to the Blues. The fifth goal was an empty-netter with 2:13 left in the game.

Lankinen gave up two goals to prospect Jimmy Snuggerud, including one on the power play, and was also beaten by Brayden Schenn and Nick Bjugstad. This was Lankinen's first start of the season, but he figures to return to his regular backup role when the Canucks take on the Stars on the road Thursday, with Thatcher Demko likely returning to the starting lineup.

  • Maple Leafs' Anthony Stolarz: Clipped by Wings again

Stolarz made 12 saves on 15 shots Monday in a 3-2 loss to the Red Wings.

The Maple Leafs controlled the play most of the game; they just couldn't stop the opportunistic Wings. Managing Stolarz's minutes this season will be essential to the team's success. He's been in net for all three of the team's contests, and he is 1-2-0 with a 3.05 GAA and .886 save percentage. Stolarz has never started more than 33 games, and that was last season when he went 21-8-3 with a 2.14 GAA and .926 save percentage. Some rest will do him good.
