Jesper Wallstedt G | MIN
Wild's Jesper Wallstedt: Allows three goals in season debut
Wallstedt stopped 31 of 34 shots in Monday's 4-3 shootout win over the Kings.
Wallstedt was beaten three times in the final frame, including allowing the equalizer with 46 seconds left in regulation. However, Wallstedt came through in the clutch during the shootout and stopped all four shots to eventually carry the Wild to victory. This was Wallstedt's first start of the campaign, but he should revert to this regular backup role when the Wild take on the Stars on Tuesday in the second leg of a back-to-back set, with Filip Gustavsson likely to start that contest.

Darcy Kuemper G | LA
Kings' Darcy Kuemper: Gives up three goals
Kuemper stopped 23 of 26 shots in Monday's 4-3 shootout loss to the Wild.
Kuemper allowed three goals on the power play, and even though the loss came after a shootout, it means Kuemper remains winless to start the season after three starts. Kuemper has allowed at least three goals each time he's stepped on the ice, and it's safe to say fantasy managers who decided to trust Kuemper are feeling disappointed so far. Kuemper's next chance to secure his first win of the season will come against Pittsburgh on Thursday.

Kevin Lankinen G | VAN
Canucks' Kevin Lankinen: Gives up four goals Monday
Lankinen stopped 30 of 34 shots in Monday's 5-2 loss to the Blues. The fifth goal was an empty-netter with 2:13 left in the game.
Lankinen gave up two goals to prospect Jimmy Snuggerud, including one on the power play, and was also beaten by Brayden Schenn and Nick Bjugstad. This was Lankinen's first start of the season, but he figures to return to his regular backup role when the Canucks take on the Stars on the road Thursday, with Thatcher Demko likely returning to the starting lineup.

Anthony Stolarz G | TOR
Maple Leafs' Anthony Stolarz: Clipped by Wings again
Stolarz made 12 saves on 15 shots Monday in a 3-2 loss to the Red Wings.
The Maple Leafs controlled the play most of the game; they just couldn't stop the opportunistic Wings. Managing Stolarz's minutes this season will be essential to the team's success. He's been in net for all three of the team's contests, and he is 1-2-0 with a 3.05 GAA and .886 save percentage. Stolarz has never started more than 33 games, and that was last season when he went 21-8-3 with a 2.14 GAA and .926 save percentage. Some rest will do him good.

Jordan Binnington G | STL
Blues' Jordan Binnington: Solid outing against Canucks
Binnington stopped 27 of 29 shots in Monday's 5-2 win over the Canucks.
Binnington was beaten twice in the second period, with both goals being scored by Kiefer Sherwood, but he was excellent the rest of the way. This outing was certainly a bounce-back performance for the 32-year-old netminder, who allowed five goals on 21 shots faced in his season debut against Minnesota on Thursday. Binnington's next chance to protect the Blues' crease will come against the Blackhawks on Wednesday.

Jake Allen G | NJ
Devils' Jake Allen: Departs Monday's game in Columbus
Allen won't return to Monday's game against the Blue Jackets due to cramping.
Allen didn't come out for the start of the third period, as he was replaced between the pipes by Jacob Markstrom. The Devils ruled Allen out for the remainder of the contest late in the final frame. The veteran goaltender turned aside 23 of 24 shots prior to exiting in his first appearance of the 2025-26 campaign.

Cam Talbot G | DET
Red Wings' Cam Talbot: Has Leafs' number again
Talbot made 38 saves on 40 shots in a 3-2 win over Toronto on Monday.
Talbot put up an all-world effort Monday after notching a 6-3, 20-save victory over the Maple Leafs on Saturday night. He's played back-to-back games after newly-acquired John Gibson coughed up five goals on 13 shots in a 5-1 loss to the Canadiens on Thursday. Talbot made two of his best saves on Auston Matthews at 5:17 of the third. He stopped Matthews' first shot from the left dot, and then he denied AM34 with a left pad save on the rebound. Talbot sees himself as good enough to platoon with Gibson; right now, the Red Wings will play the hot hand.

Joonas Korpisalo G | BOS
Bruins' Joonas Korpisalo: Settles in after rough start
Korpisalo made 19 saves on 23 shots in a 4-3 loss to Tampa Bay on Monday.
The Lightning came out white hot to start the game and rang up a 3-0 lead by the 39-second mark of the second frame. Korpisalo then settled in and gave his team a chance to claw their way back into the game. He has started twice already this season, but don't expect a platoon split with Jeremy Swayman. Korpisalo made 24 starts last season, going 11-10-3 with a 2.90 GAA and .893 save percentage over 27 total appearances.

Spencer Knight G | CHI
Blackhawks' Spencer Knight: In goal Monday
Knight will tend the home twine Monday versus the Mammoth, according to Tracey Myers of NHL.com.
Knight is looking for his first win in 2025-26, as he's started the year 0-2-0 with a .908 save percentage and a 3.03 GAA in his first two outings. Utah has scored just four goals across their first two games of the season, and Knight will try to improve his career record against the Mammoth to 2-0-0 -- he turned aside 36 of 39 shots in his lone appearance against them in 2024-25.
-
Jonas Johansson G | TB
Lightning's Jonas Johansson: First win of season
Johansson made 30 saves on 33 shots in a 4-3 win over the Bruins on Monday.
It was his season debut. Johansson made just 18 starts (19 appearances) in 2024-25 and generally delivered when he was in the net. He went 9-6-3, although his 3.13 GAA and .895 save percentage were a touch queasy. Johansson is unlikely to get many more starts than last season, even if the Lightning would be better served in the postseason by keeping Andrei Vasilevskiy a little more rested over the year.
