Cossa will probably return to the minors for the beginning of the 2025-26 campaign.

    Knight is slated to be between the pipes for the whole game. He solidified his spot as Chicago's No. 1 goaltender after being acquired from Florida last season. Knight was 5-8-2 with a 3.12 GAA and an .896 save percentage in 15 regular-season starts for the Blackhawks in 2024-25..

  • Islanders' Tristan Lennox: Shipped out to minors

    Lennox was demoted to AHL Bridgeport on Saturday.

    Lennox made his NHL debut against the Rangers on April 10, allowing one goal on two shots in a 9-2 loss. During the 2024-25 regular season, he played for ECHL Worcester and AHL Bridgeport, combining for a 5-11-2 record in 19 contests.

  • Blues' Jordan Binnington: Facing Blackhawks

    Binnington will guard the home goal in Saturday's preseason matchup against Chicago, Lou Korac of The Hockey News reports.

    Binnington will play in the first two periods before handing over the crease to Will Cranley. The 32-year-old Binnington posted a 28-22-5 record with five shutouts, a 2.69 GAA and a .900 save percentage across 56 regular-season appearances in 2024-25.

    Flames' Devin Cooley: Facing Jets

    Cooley will be between the visiting pipes in Winnipeg on Saturday, Pat Steinberg of Sportsnet 960 The Fan reports.

    Cooley spent the 2024-25 campaign with AHL Calgary, posting a 21-17-5 record with a 2.94 GAA and a .905 save percentage. He has played six games at the NHL level, all with San Jose in the 2023-24 season, going 2-3-1 with a 4.98 GAA and an .870 save percentage. Barring an injury to Dustin Wolf or Ivan Prosvetov, Cooley will likely spend most of 2025-26 in the AHL.

  • Maple Leafs' Anthony Stolarz: Starting Saturday

    Stolarz will patrol the home crease versus Montreal in preseason action Saturday, Mark Masters of TSN reports.

    Stolarz will get his first start of the preseason. The 31-year-old will be the No. 1 netminder with the Maple Leafs, at least until Joseph Woll (personal) returns to the team. Stolarz led the NHL last season with a .926 save percentage and posted a 21-8-3 record with a 2.14 GAA across 34 regular-season appearances. Stolarz could appear in 50-55 games this season, depending on his health.

  • Flyers' Samuel Ersson: Gets starting nod Saturday

    Ersson will be between the home pipes versus Boston on Saturday, Bill Meltzer of the Flyers' official site reports.

    Ersson was the Flyers' No. 1 goaltender in 2024-25, despite some inconsistent efforts. He posted a 22-17-5 mark with a 3.14 GAA and an .883 save percentage across 47 regular-season games. Look for Ersson to start 45-50 games in 2025-26, barring any serious injury.

    Kraken's Matt Murray: Set to start Friday

    Murray will protect the road goal in Friday's preseason game versus the Canucks, per the NHL media site.

    Murray will get the nod, though it's possible he'll split the game with Philipp Grubauer. Those two netminders are competing to be Joey Daccord's backup in 2025-26, though there is a slight chance the Kraken carry three goalies to avoid losing Murray on waivers.
