  • Bruins' Joonas Korpisalo: Nabs win against former club

Korpisalo made 36 saves in Thursday's 4-2 win over the Blue Jackets.

The veteran netminder was busy -- Columbus outshot the home squad 40-23 on the night -- but Korpisalo was up to the task, even after briefly leaving the game in the second period to get checked out following a collision in the crease with Miles Wood. Michael DiPietro made two saves in Korpisalo's absence. Jeremy Swayman should be back to take over top duties between the pipes for Saturday's game against the Flyers, but Korpisalo has been locked in since the calendar flipped to 2026, going 5-0-2 over his last eight outings with a 2.20 GAA and .923 save percentage.

  • Blue Jackets' Elvis Merzlikins: Takes loss in Boston

Merzlikins stopped 19 of 22 shots in Thursday's 4-2 loss to the Bruins, with Boston's final goal getting scored into an empty net.

The 31-year-old had won three straight outings and five of six prior to the Olympic break, but his first start after the break got off to an inauspicious start when Viktor Arvidsson flipped a seemingly harmless shot toward the net late in the first period, and it deflected past Merzlikins off Isac Lundestrom's stick. Merzlikins has still given up three goals or fewer in seven straight appearances dating back to Jan. 15, posting a 2.19 GAA and .916 save percentage over that stretch.

  • Capitals' Charlie Lindgren: Starter for Saturday

Lindgren will patrol the visiting crease in Montreal on Saturday, Tarik El-Bashir of Monumental Sports Network reports.

Lindgren will make his first start since Jan. 29, when he stopped 18 shots in a 4-3 shootout win in Detroit. Lindgren is 8-6-3 with a 3.37 GAA and an .884 save percentage over 18 outings this season. The Canadiens are fourth in NHL scoring, averaging 3.45 goals per game in 2025-26.

  • Capitals' Logan Thompson: Tending twine Friday

Thompson will be between the home pipes versus Vegas on Friday, per Sammi Silber of The Hockey News.

Thompson returned from the Olympic Games and turned aside 23 shots in a 3-1 victory over Philadelphia on Wednesday. He is 20-16-4 with a 2.41 GAA and a .913 save percentage across 40 starts this season. The Golden Knights are generating 3.38 goals per game in 2025-26, eighth overall in the league.

  • Bruins' Michael DiPietro: Sent to AHL Providence

DiPietro was reassigned to AHL Providence on Friday, Mark Divver of the New England Hockey Journal reports.

DiPietro was recalled on an emergency basis Tuesday and backed up Joonas Korpisalo on Thursday in Boston's 4-2 win over Columbus, and he made two saves in the second period while Korpisalo was being checked out following a collision in the crease with Miles Wood. DiPietro was called up as Jeremy Swayman was given the night off after winning Olympic gold for the United States on Sunday in Italy.

  • Kings' Anton Forsberg: Makes relief appearance Thursday

Forsberg stopped 18 of 22 shots in relief of Darcy Kuemper in Thursday's 8-1 loss to the Oilers.

Forsberg fared only a little better than Kuemper, who stopped 11 of 15 shots. This outing didn't lead to a decision for Forsberg, who is winless over his last four games while allowing 16 goals on 102 shots in that span. For the season, he has a 2.80 GAA and an .899 save percentage in 24 appearances. The Kings haven't gotten reliable goaltending from either netminder recently, which could turn this crease situation into a timeshare until one of Forsberg or Kuemper gets on track.

  • Kings' Darcy Kuemper: Pulled in second period

Kuemper stopped 11 of 15 shots in Thursday's 8-1 loss to the Oilers.

Kuemper was pulled in the second period shortly after giving up a goal to Connor McDavid. The Oilers kept the pressure up and rattled off four goals on 22 shots against Anton Forsberg. Kuemper will likely get the majority of the starts for the Kings, but he hasn't been particularly good, allowing at least four goals in three of his last five games. The 35-year-old netminder is at a 14-12-9 record with a 2.68 GAA and an .897 save percentage over 37 starts this season. The Kings have a more favorable matchup ahead when they host the Flames on Saturday.

  • Oilers' Connor Ingram: Bounces back Thursday

Ingram stopped 21 of 22 shots in Thursday's 8-1 win over the Kings.

Ingram was stuck with a relief loss versus the Ducks on Wednesday, but he looked good in his start a day later. The 28-year-old limited the damage to a Warren Foegele tally in the first period, and the Oilers offered plenty of scoring support after that. Ingram has allowed 10 goals on 60 shots over his previous four games. He's now at a 7-5-1 record with a 2.58 GAA and an .899 save percentage in 15 appearances this season. The top job in Edmonton's crease should be up for grabs given Tristan Jarry's struggles, and it could go to Ingram if he strings together a few strong performances. The Oilers' next game is Saturday in San Jose.

  • Sharks' Yaroslav Askarov: Takes another loss

Askarov stopped 25 of 28 shots in Thursday's 4-1 loss to the Flames. The fourth goal was an empty-netter.

Askarov took his third straight regulation loss, a span in which he's allowed 10 goals on 79 shots. The 23-year-old has been skidding for much of 2026, holding an opponent under three goals just once in 10 appearances since the start of the new year. For the season, Askarov has a 17-16-2 record with a 3.52 GAA and an .888 save percentage in 36 starts. It would take a lot for the Sharks to mount a playoff push, so Askarov and Alex Nedeljkovic may share the crease down the stretch. Both goalies should start this weekend, as the Sharks host the Oilers on Saturday and the Jets on Sunday.

  • Dustin Wolf G | CGY

Flames' Dustin Wolf: Sharp in win Thursday

Wolf stopped 34 of 35 shots in Thursday's 4-1 win over the Sharks.

The Sharks scored first at 1:17 of the second period on a Tyler Toffoli goal, but Wolf didn't let the game spiral. This was his 10th win in 12 career decisions versus the Sharks, including three out of four matchups this season. Overall, Wolf has a 17-21-3 record with a 2.95 GAA and an .899 save percentage over 42 appearances. He's been the Flames' starter most of the time this season, but the team may want to give Devin Cooley ample opportunities down the stretch since it's unlikely Calgary will rally for a playoff spot. Expect both goalies to get action this weekend with an upcoming back-to-back set that features games in Los Angeles on Saturday and Anaheim on Sunday.
