  • Hurricanes' Frederik Andersen: Starting versus Canadiens

    Andersen will guard the home goal versus the Canadiens on Friday.

    Andersen is set to take his usual turn in the Hurricanes' goalie rotation. The 35-year-old has won five straight outings, allowing no more than two goals in any of those victories. The Canadiens are coming off a 6-4 loss to the Flyers on Thursday and have lost four straight games.

  • Rangers' Igor Shesterkin: Set to start Friday

    Shesterkin is expected to start on the road against Anaheim on Friday, per Derek Lee of The Hockey News.

    Shesterkin stopped 30 of 32 shots in his last start Tuesday, but the Rangers still suffered a 3-1 loss. He's 24-26-4 with a 2.80 GAA and a .908 save percentage in 54 appearances in 2024-25. Anaheim ranks 28th in goals per game with 2.69.

  • Islanders' Marcus Hogberg: Set for Sunday start

    Hogberg is slated to patrol the crease on the road against Carolina on Sunday, Andrew Gross of Newsday reports.

    Hogberg will take the second half of a back-to-back after Ilya Sorokin gets the starting nod on the road versus the Lightning on Saturday. Between his light workload and some poor performances, Hogberg hasn't won an NHL game since Jan. 18 versus the Sharks, going 0-1-1 in his four appearances since with a 2.73 GAA.

    Islanders' Ilya Sorokin: Starting Saturday in Tampa Bay

    Sorokin will be between the visiting pipes in Tampa Bay on Saturday, per Andrew Gross of Newsday.

    Sorokin was pulled early in the third period Wednesday against the Canucks, giving up four goals on 19 shots. The 29-year-old has played 54 games this season, going 27-21-6 with three shutouts, a 2.76 GAA and a .905 save percentage. The Lightning tallied eight goals Thursday, giving them an average of 3.57 goals per game, second in the NHL.

  • Hockey Club's Karel Vejmelka: Starting in Florida

    Vejmelka will defend the visiting cage in Florida on Friday, according to Cole Bagley of KSL Sports.

    Vejmelka struggled Thursday in Tampa Bay, giving up four goals on 12 shots in 29:14 of action. Overall, the goaltender is 21-20-6 with one shutout, a 2.62 GAA and a .902 save percentage in 2024-25. The Panthers are tied for 10th in NHL scoring this season, generating 3.15 goals per game.

  • Hockey Club's Jaxson Stauber: Sent to minors

    Stauber was loaned to AHL Tucson on Friday,

    Stauber allowed four goals on 10 shots after replacing Karel Vejmelka halfway through Thursday's tilt in Tampa Bay. He was 2-1-1 with one shutout in six NHL appearances this season, giving up 17 goals on 158 shots. In a corresponding move, Utah recalled netminder Matt Villalta to replace Stauber on the roster.

    Devils' Jake Allen: Slated to start Friday

    Allen is expected to tend the twine on the road against the Jets on Friday, Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site reports.

    Allen has played in four of the Devils' last nine outings, posting a 3-1-0 record, 1.77 GAA and .943 save percentage. With New Jersey entering a back-to-back, fantasy players can likely expect Jacob Markstrom to get the starting nod on the road versus Minnesota on Saturday. If Allen can continue to string together some victories, he could see increased opportunities down the stretch.

  • Hockey Club's Matt Villalta: Called up from AHL

    Villalta was recalled from AHL Tucson on Friday.

    Villalta has a 17-21-3 record with a 3.01 GAA and a .906 save percentage across 41 outings with AHL Tucson this season. He appeared in two games with the Coyotes in 2023-24, allowing five goals on 29 shots (.828 save percentage). Utah demoted goaltender Jaxson Stauber to the Roadrunners in a corresponding move.

  • Canucks' Kevin Lankinen: Facing Blue Jackets

    Lankinen will patrol the visiting crease in Columbus on Friday, according to Rick Dhaliwal of CHEK.

    Lankinen will make his first start in almost a week as he has been dealing with a hip issue. He struggled in his last start Saturday against the Rangers, giving up four goals on 11 shots in a 5-3 loss. Lankinen is 24-14-8 with four shutouts, a 2.59 GAA and a .901 save percentage. He has been the No. 1 goaltender with the Canucks most of the season, but with the return of Thatcher Demko, Lankinen should be considered the backup netminder. The Blue Jackets are averaging 3.14 goals per game, 12th in the league this season.

  • Canadiens' Sam Montembeault: Guarding goal Friday

    Montembeault will defend the road net in Carolina on Friday, per Patrick Friolet of RDS.ca.

    Montembeault was pulled in his last start after allowing five goals on 32 shots in a 6-1 loss to the Blues on Tuesday. Montembeault is 25-22-6 with four shutouts, a 2.93 GAA and an .898 save percentage across 53 outings in 2024-25. The Hurricanes are generating 3.21 goals per game this season, ninth in the NHL.
