Scott Wedgewood G | COL
Avalanche's Scott Wedgewood: Expected starter vs Pittsburgh
Wedgewood is slated to defend the home net Tuesday against the Penguins, Evan Rawal of the Denver Gazette reports.
Wedgewood has been on the hook for back-to-back losses while allowing two goals in each contest. The veteran goaltender has a 6-6-1 record, .898 save percentage and 2.78 GAA across 15 appearances between the Predators and Avalanche this season. The Penguins have generated 2.89 goals per game in 2024-25, which is tied for 17th in the league.

Casey DeSmith G | DAL
Stars' Casey DeSmith: Set to start Tuesday
DeSmith will tend the home twine against the Devils on Tuesday, according to Stars radio analyst Bruce LeVine.
DeSmith posted a perfect 3-0-0 record, .911 save percentage and 2.68 GAA over three appearances in February. The Devils are 5-5-0 in their last 10 games and are tied for 14th in the NHL with 2.98 goals per game this season. New Jersey might be without Jack Hughes (undisclosed) on Tuesday -- the 23-year-old center was injured Sunday against the Golden Knights.

Igor Shesterkin G | NYR
Rangers' Igor Shesterkin: Blanks Isles for fourth shutout
Shesterkin made 21 saves in Monday's 4-0 win over the Islanders.
After watching Jonathan Quick blank the Predators on Sunday, Shesterkin decided not to get upstaged. It's the fourth shutout of the season for the 29-year-old netminder and the 19th of his career. Shesterkin seems to have found a groove since a shaky first outing coming out of the 4 Nations Face-Off break. Over his last four starts, he's gone 3-1-0 with a 1.77 GAA and a .939 save percentage.

Ilya Sorokin G | NYI
Islanders' Ilya Sorokin: No margin for error in loss
Sorokin turned aside 22 of 25 shots in Monday's 4-0 loss to the Rangers, with the Blueshirts' final goal getting scored into an empty net.
The Isles couldn't solve Igor Shesterkin in the other crease, and even the bounces went against Sorokin -- the Rangers' first goal late in the first period came on a shot from Zac Jones that deflected off Kyle Palmieri's skate, then off Will Cuylle's helmet, before fluttering into the net. Sorokin has started eight straight games while Semyon Varlamov (lower body) and Marcus Hogberg (upper body) have been on IR, going 3-5-0 with a 3.58 GAA and an .880 save percentage. Coach Patrick Roy may be forced to turn to untested backup Jakub Skarek soon just to give his 29-year-old starter a breather.

Sam Montembeault G | MON
Canadiens' Sam Montembeault: Hangs on for OT win
Montembeault stopped 33 shots in Monday's 4-3 overtime win over the Sabres.
The Habs looked like they would run away with the game after grabbing a 3-0 lead in the first period, but Montembeault did well just to get the game to OT after Buffalo outshot the home side 27-11 over the final two frames. The 28-year-old netminder has won four straight starts, and since the beginning of February, he's posted a 5-3-0 record in eight outings with a 2.48 GAA and a .903 save percentage.

Jeremy Swayman G | BOS
Bruins' Jeremy Swayman: Patrolling crease versus Preds
Swayman will guard the cage at home against Nashville on Tuesday, Scott McLaughlin of WEEI reports.
Swayman is mired in a five-game losing streak in which he posted a 0-3-2 record, 2.97 GAA and .891 save percentage. The Alaskan-born netminder has certainly been let down by his offense in some of those contests -- a problem that may get worse following news of Brad Marchand's (upper body) long-term injury.

James Reimer G | OTT
Sabres' James Reimer: Falters in OT
Reimer made 16 saves in Monday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Canadiens.
Montreal scored three times in the first period, but Reimer was able to regain his focus and shut the door for the final 40 minutes of regulation as Buffalo mounted a comeback to force OT. The veteran netminder flinched in extra time though, whiffing on a Mike Matheson shot from the top of the faceoff circle despite getting a clean look at it. It was the first time Reimer had given up more than three goals in an outing since Dec. 9, and over five starts since the calendar flipped to 2025, he's gone 1-3-1 with a 2.93 GAA and a .903 save percentage.

Logan Thompson G | WAS
Capitals' Logan Thompson: Hangs on for shootout win
Thompson turned aside 33 shots in regulation and overtime and all three shootout attempts he faced in Monday's 5-4 win over the Senators.
The Caps grabbed a 3-0 lead early in the second period, but Thompson had to withstand a comeback by the Sens in the third period just to get the game to OT. The 28-year-old netminder came up big in the shootout though, shutting down Drake Batherson, Tim Stutzle and Claude Giroux to secure the victory. Thompson has seen the bulk of the work in the Washington crease since the beginning of February, starting seven of 10 games, but his 3-2-2 record, 3.39 GAA and .881 save percentage over that stretch would seem to indicate the door is open for Charlie Lindgren to push his way back into a timeshare.

Alex Lyon G | BUF
Red Wings' Alex Lyon: Tending twine Tuesday
Lyon will guard the home cage against the Hurricanes on Tuesday, Daniella Bruce of the Red Wings' official site reports.
Lyon is 3-0-0 in his last four outings while registering a 3.06 GAA and a .905 save percentage. Despite his recent run of form, the 32-year-old netminder has had to watch from the bench for the Wings' last three contests in favor of Cam Talbot. Still, with a back-to-back around the corner, Lyon will likely be back in the crease to face Utah or Washington on Thursday or Friday, respectively.

Andrei Vasilevskiy G | TB
Lightning's Andrei Vasilevskiy: Loses eight-game win streak
Vasilevskiy surrendered two goals and made 27 saves in Monday's 2-1 loss to the Panthers.
Outside of the two goals Vasilevskiy conceded to Florida's Aleksander Barkov in the second period, the goaltender had a strong outing. Monday's contest marked the end of Vasilevskiy's eight-game winning streak. During that stretch, he allowed just 13 goals and posted a .945 save percentage. Overall, the 30-year-old netminder has a 29-16-3 record with a 2.18 GAA and a .923 save percentage. His GAA is on pace to be a new career-best if he can keep it below the 2.21 he posted across 42 games in the 2020 campaign. Vasilevskiy has been a force in fantasy this season and has elite value in all formats for the rest of the year.
