Mammoth's Mikhail Sergachev: Exits Tuesday's contest
Sergachev (upper body) won't return to Tuesday's game versus the Devils.

If Sergachev can't suit up Thursday versus the Bruins, Nick DeSimone will likely enter the lineup while Dmitri Simashev would be poised for an increased role.

Ersson is starting Tuesday's road game against the Red Wings, TSN 1200 Ottawa reports.
Ersson replaced Linus Ullmark (undisclosed) in the third period of Monday's 4-1 victory over the Bruins and allowed a goal on nine shots. Ullmark won't dress for the second half of the back-to-back set, so Ersson will make his first start of the season Tuesday, while Jonas Johansson will operate as the backup. Prior to his call-up, the 32-year-old Dries was off to a strong start with AHL Grand Rapids, where he has three goals, four points and seven shots on net across two games. The Wings likely made the call-up for him to play Tuesday, so expect to see him in a bottom-six role ahead of his first NHL appearance of the campaign.

Sharks' Macklin Celebrini: Considered day-to-day
Head coach Ryan Warsofsky said Tuesday that Celebrini (lower body) is considered day-to-day, Sheng Peng of San Jose Hockey Now reports.

However, Warsofsky clarified Tuesday that Celebrini didn't sustain his injury during Monday's warmups. It's not yet clear whether Celebrini will be available for Thursday's game against the Blues, but he's expected to remain with the Sharks to conclude their road trip. If the 20-year-old is forced to miss additional time, Ty Dellandrea is a candidate to remain in the lineup.

The Red Wings announced Tuesday that Appleton is week-to-week due to an unspecified injury, so it isn't particularly surprising to see him land on injured reserve. It's not yet clear when he'll be able to return, but Carter Mazur is a candidate to see increased time in the lineup during Appleton's absence.
