  • Zach Benson LW | BUF

    Sabres' Zach Benson: Playing Saturday

Benson (upper body) will be in the lineup Saturday against the Islanders, Rachel Lenzi of The Buffalo News reports.

Benson left Thursday's 4-2 win over Montrea, but it appears he won't miss any additional time due to the injury. He has six goals and 17 assists in 37 appearances this season.

  • Alex Lyon G | BUF

Sabres' Alex Lyon: In goal Saturday

Lyon will guard the road goal against the Islanders on Saturday, per Andrew Gross of Newsday.

After missing nine games due to a lower-body injury, Lyon is coming off a 31-save performance in Tuesday's 5-3 win over Nashville. He has gone 11-6-3 this campaign with a 2.83 GAA, a .907 save percentage and one shutout in 22 appearances. The Islanders sit 24th in the league with 2.84 goals per game this season. However, the team will get an offensive boost with the return of Bo Horvat (lower body) in Saturday's matchup.

  • Maple Leafs' William Nylander: Resumes skating

Nylander (groin) skated before Saturday's practice, Mark Masters of TSN reports.

Nylander has missed the last four games and remains on injured reserve. There still isn't a timeline in place for his return to the lineup, but he appears to be making some progress. Nylander has accumulated 17 goals, 48 points and 75 shots on net in 37 games this season.

  • Maple Leafs' Dakota Joshua: Skates before practice

Joshua skated before Saturday's practice for the first time since suffering a lacerated kidney against Detroit on Dec. 28, Mark Masters of TSN reports.

Joshua is still "a ways away," according to head coach Craig Berube. Joshua has already missed the last 13 games and will likely not be ready to return until after February's Olympic break. He is still out indefinitely.

  • Cale Makar D | COL

Avalanche's Cale Makar: Pots goal Friday

Makar scored a goal on two shots in Friday's 7-3 loss to the Flyers.

Makar remains one of the most productive blueliners in the NHL, so by now, fantasy managers should be used to seeing him finding ways to crack the scoresheet on a steady basis. Makar has recorded 10 points (three goals, seven assists) in 10 games in January while also adding 19 shots on goal, seven hits and 16 blocked shots, so he's bringing the effort on both ends of the ice.

  • Red Wings' Simon Edvinsson: Won't play Saturday

Edvinsson (lower body) won't be in the lineup against Winnipeg on Saturday, per Jonathan Mills of the Red Wings' official site.

Edvinsson will miss his second straight game, and it's unclear when he will be ready to return to the lineup. He has accounted for six goals, 17 points, 57 shots on net, 104 blocked shots and 63 hits across 48 appearances this season. Travis Hamonic replaced Edvinsson in Thursday's 4-3 overtime loss to Minnesota, but the Red Wings also have Erik Gustafsson as an option for Saturday's contest.

  • Avalanche's Victor Olofsson: Finds twine Friday

Olofsson scored a goal on three shots in Friday's 7-3 loss to the Flyers.

Olofsson has found the back of the net in three of his last six games, a stretch in which he has racked up five points. The 30-year-old veteran has scored only 10 goals in 49 contests this season. However, he'll have decent fantasy value if he keeps playing alongside Nathan MacKinnon on the first line. Olofsson's stretch of five points in his last six games also snapped a slump of just three points in 18 appearances between Dec. 1 and Jan. 8.

  • Owen Tippett RW | PHI

Flyers' Owen Tippett: Nets hat trick Friday

Tippett scored a hat trick and added a power-play assist in Friday's 7-3 win over the Avalanche.

Tippett had gone four games without finding the back of the net, but he broke out in a big way in Friday's win with the second hat trick of his NHL career. He also became the fifth Philadelphia player in the past 20 years to record a hat trick that included a shorthanded goal, according to Ryan Boulding of NHL.com. Tippett is up to 18 goals and 33 points this season. If he stays healthy, he could reach the 30-goal plateau in 2025-26.

  • Flyers' Denver Barkey: Scores, assists Friday

Barkey recorded a power-play goal and an even-strength assist in Friday's 7-3 win over the Avalanche.

Barkey is far from being a consistent scoring weapon despite his top-six role, but that isn't surprising for a 20-year-old rookie. He has done a good job of late, posting five points (one goal, four helpers) over his last five contests. Since making his NHL debut against the Rangers on Dec. 20 with a two-assist effort, the 2023 third-round pick has racked up eight points in 16 appearances with the Flyers.

  • Canucks' Nikita Tolopilo: Called up from minors

Tolopilo was recalled from AHL Abbotsford on Saturday.

The Canucks sent Jiri Patera back to the minors in a corresponding move. Tolopilo has a 2-3-0 record with a 3.97 GAA and an .881 save percentage in six NHL appearances this season.
