  • Kraken's Philipp Grubauer: Getting consecutive starts

Grubauer will start Wednesday's road game versus the Devils, James Nichols of New Jersey Hockey Now reports.

The Kraken will start a goalie in consecutive games for the first time since Dec. 18-20. Grubauer has won five of his last six outings while allowing just nine goals in that span, so it appears this is a case of riding the hot hand. The Devils have scored just 14 goals over their last six games, going 2-4-0 in that span.

  • David Spacek D | MIN

    Wild's David Spacek: Recalled Wednesday

Spacek was called up from AHL Iowa on Wednesday.

The Wild may have an injury concern on their blue line, or they may just be adding Spacek to the roster ahead of a three-game road trip that begins Saturday in Buffalo. In any case, Spacek is with the big club. He has 19 points in 35 AHL contests.

  • Senators' Leevi Merilainen: Starting again Wednesday

Merilainen is slated to start on the road versus the Rangers on Wednesday, Stephen Whyno of the Associated Press reports.

Merilainen will start back-to-back games, but James Reimer is set to back him up in this one after Hunter Shepard was reassigned to AHL Belleville earlier in the day. Merilainen stopped 19 of 20 shots in Tuesday's win over the Canucks, but he received an early hook the last time he started consecutive days, which was versus the Avalanche on Jan. 8.

  • Dryden Hunt LW | CGY

Flames' Dryden Hunt: Rejoins NHL club

Hunt was recalled from AHL Calgary on Wednesday, Pat Steinberg of Sportsnet 960 The Fan reports.

Hunt will provide the Flames with some depth, as several of the team's forwards are dealing with injuries. He has appeared in just two NHL games this season, earning four hits, four blocked shots and a minus-2 rating while averaging 10:37 of ice time.

  • Red Wings' Sheldon Dries: Returns to minors

Dries was reassigned to AHL Grand Rapids on Wednesday.

Dries was a healthy scratch for three straight games after being recalled from the minors last Friday. The 31-year-old has 11 goals and 25 points in 26 outings with Grand Rapids in 2025-26.

  • Bobby Brink RW | MIN

Flyers' Bobby Brink: Set to miss out versus Sabres

Brink (upper body) is not expected to be in the lineup against Buffalo on Wednesday, Bill Meltzer of the Flyers' official site reports.

Brink is poised to miss his fourth straight game due to his upper-body problem, and with a back-to-back on the schedule, he may not suit up against the Penguins on Thursday. The Minnesota native was on pace to reach the 40-point threshold for the second consecutive season but may miss that mark now due to his extended absence.

  • Neal Pionk D | WPG

Jets' Neal Pionk: Placed on injured reserve

Pionk (lower body) was placed on injured reserve Wednesday, retroactive to Jan. 13.

Winnipeg recalled Elias Salomonsson from AHL Manitoba in a corresponding move. Pionk is week-to-week after aggravating a lower-body issue in Tuesday's 5-4 win over the Islanders. It's not yet clear whether he'll be able to return to game action before the Olympic break in February. Pionk has two goals, six assists, 76 shots on net, 64 blocked shots and 84 hits in 40 appearances this season.

  • Corey Perry RW | TB

Kings' Corey Perry: Won't play Wednesday

Perry (personal) will miss Wednesday's game against Vegas, per Zach Dooley of the Kings' official site.

It will be Perry's third absence in five games for personal reasons. He has 10 goals and 23 points in 37 appearances this season. Los Angeles is expected to dress seven defensemen Wednesday, with Jacob Moverare drawing into the lineup.

  • Jets' Elias Salomonsson: Called up from AHL

Salomonsson was recalled from AHL Manitoba on Wednesday, per Mitchell Clinton of the Jets' official site.

After Neal Pionk (lower body), Haydn Fleury (upper body) and Colin Miller (lower body) were all deemed week-to-week, Salomonsson will join the big club to fill the defensive void in Winnipeg's lineup. Through 25 games with Manitoba this season, the 21-year-old Salomonsson has a goal, seven assists and 37 shots on net. The call-up gives him another chance to record the first NHL point of his career after failing to do so across four games earlier this campaign.

  • Jets' Morgan Barron: Game-time call versus Wild

According to head coach Scott Arniel, Barron (upper body) "could be a player" for Thursday's clash with Minnesota, Mitchell Clinton of the Jets' official site reports.

Barron has missed the Jets' last three outings due to his upper-body issue, but he seems to be trending in the right direction. Prior to getting hurt, the 27-year-old winger was mired in a seven-game goal drought during which he generated two helpers, 14 shots and 16 hits.
