  • Alex Lyon G | BUF

Sabres' Alex Lyon: Struggles against Red Wings

Lyon stopped 15 of 19 shots in Friday's 5-2 loss to the Red Wings. The fifth goal was an empty-netter.

Lyon took his second straight defeat, and he's allowed 10 goals on 52 shots over those games. He won six outings in a row before that, so this may be a bit of regression, but the Sabres can't afford to have him slumping while they battle for the top of the Atlantic Division. Lyon is down to 20-9-4 with a 2.69 GAA and a .909 save percentage over 35 appearances this season. Look for Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen to get the nod Saturday versus the Kraken, but Lyon would be in line to start Tuesday against the Islanders if the Sabres continue to alternate goalie starts.

  • Red Wings' Moritz Seider: Dishes two helpers in win

Seider logged two power-play assists and three blocked shots in Friday's 5-2 win over the Sabres.

Seider has two goals and eight helpers over his last nine outings. He set up Alex DeBrincat and Lucas Raymond on the Red Wings' first two tallies in Friday's win. Seider is up to a career-best 51 points this season, registering nine goals, 42 assists, 23 power-play points, 165 shots on net, 109 hits, 159 blocked shots, 55 PIM and a plus-22 rating over 72 appearances. Few defensemen can match Seider's all-around appeal in fantasy.

  • Red Wings' Jacob Bernard-Docker: Scores first goal of season

Bernard-Docker scored a goal and added two PIM in Friday's 5-2 win over the Sabres.

Bernard-Docker just signed a two-year contract extension with the Red Wings on Wednesday, which perhaps gave him a little extra confidence. His tally Friday was his first goal of the season, coming in his 56th appearance. The defenseman has five points, 38 shots on net, 83 blocked shots, 59 hits, 20 PIM and a plus-5 rating. He will likely remain on the third pairing, but he continues to have more security in the lineup over Travis Hamonic.

  • Marco Kasper C | DET

Red Wings' Marco Kasper: Tallies in Friday's win

Kasper scored a goal in Friday's 5-2 win over the Sabres.

Kasper snapped a six-game slump with his first-period tally, which stood as the game-winner. He's had trouble getting consistent offense this season, which includes March, a month in which he's earned two goals and two assists over 12 outings. The 21-year-old forward is up to eight goals, 17 points, 115 shots on net, 167 hits, 46 blocked shots, 31 PIM and a minus-13 rating over 71 appearances. Kasper is likely to close out the regular season in a middle-six role.

  • Lucas Raymond LW | DET

Red Wings' Lucas Raymond: Tallies with man advantage

Raymond scored a power-play goal on two shots and added two PIM in Friday's 5-2 win over the Sabres.

Raymond has a power-play point in each of the last three games (two goals, one assist) while adding seven shots on net in that span. The 23-year-old winger is up to 23 goals, 70 points, 151 shots on net and a plus-9 rating over 70 appearances. He's reached the 70-point mark in three straight campaigns, but he's looking to secure his first point-per-game season in his five-year career.

  • Patrick Kane RW | DET

Red Wings' Patrick Kane: Two points against hometown team

Kane scored an empty-net goal on two shots and added an assist in Friday's 5-2 win over the Sabres.

Kane helped the Red Wings protect their lead in the third period. He set up Jacob Bernard-Docker's goal before adding the empty-netter himself. With four goals and seven assists over his last 10 outings, Kane continues to pile up points to help Detroit's playoff push. The winger has 13 goals, 44 points, 148 shots on net and a plus-2 rating over 57 appearances this season, mainly in a second-line role.

  • Alex DeBrincat RW | DET

Red Wings' Alex DeBrincat: Three-point effort in win

DeBrincat scored a power-play goal on four shots and added two assists in Friday's 5-2 win over the Sabres.

DeBrincat's point streak is up to eight games, a span in which he has earned three goals and 11 assists. The 28-year-old winger opened the scoring 4:02 into the contest before helping out on both of the Red Wings' third-period tallies. DeBrincat now has 36 goals, 77 points, 253 shots on net and a plus-8 rating over 72 appearances. He's two points away from setting a career high, which would top his 78-point total from 82 regular-season contests in 2021-22 with the Blackhawks.

  • John Gibson G | DET

Red Wings' John Gibson: Secures win over Sabres

Gibson stopped 28 of 30 shots in Friday's 5-2 win over the Sabres.

This was an important game to win, and Gibson got the job done. The Red Wings' three-goal first period was enough support early on. Gibson has started 10 games in a row, though he's just 4-5-1 in that span. He's up to 27-17-3 with a 2.54 GAA and a .907 save percentage over 49 starts this season. The Red Wings complete a back-to-back set with a home game versus the Flyers on Saturday, which is likely to be a start for either Cam Talbot (undisclosed) or Michal Postava.

  • Ivan Ryabkin C | CAR

Hurricanes' Ivan Ryabkin: Four points in QMJHL playoff opener

Ryabkin scored twice and added two assists in QMJHL Charlottetown's 5-3 win in Game 1 over Quebec on Friday.

Ryabkin made an impact in his playoff debut. It's no surprise he's already putting up some offense in the playoffs after lighting up the QMJHL for 13 goals and 42 points over 20 regular-season contests. The Hurricanes prospect will look to lead Charlottetown on a deep run. He'll likely be a candidate to play in the AHL in 2026-27.

  • Red Wings' Emmitt Finnie: Cleared for action Friday

Finnie (concussion) will play in Friday's road clash against the Sabres, per Max Bultman of The Athletic.

Finnie passed through concussion protocol ahead of Friday's game after sustaining a hard hit in Tuesday's matchup. He'll return to the lineup without missing any games and is set to skate on Detroit's third line as the left winger. The 20-year-old forward has five points over his last 11 games and is a solid fantasy option in deep leagues.
