  • Sam Carrick C | BUF

Rangers' Sam Carrick: Out for trade-related reasons

Carrick will miss Thursday's game against Toronto for roster-management reasons, per Mollie Walker of the New York Post.

Carrick has four goals, 10 points, 53 PIM and 86 hits in 60 outings in 2025-26. If he isn't traded before Friday's deadline, then Carrick will probably draw back into the lineup Saturday versus New Jersey.

  • Rangers' Vincent Trocheck: Being sat out Thursday

Trocheck will not play for roster-management reasons Thursday versus the Maple Leafs, Mollie Walker of the New York Post reports.

Trocheck is very much on the trade block, but the Rangers understandably have a high ask for a top-six center with three years left on his contract. The 32-year-old will miss one game, but if a deal doesn't get made, he should be ready to roll for Saturday's game versus the Devils. If he is moved, it's not clear when he'd debut for a new team.

  • Warren Foegele LW | OTT

Senators' Warren Foegele: Heading to Ottawa

Foegele and a conditional third-round pick were traded to the Senators from the Kings in exchange for a 2026 second-round pick and a conditional third-round pick, David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period reports Thursday.

Foegele's offense has fallen off hard in 2025-26, as he has been limited to nine points in 47 contests. He'll get the opportunity for a fresh start as a potential middle-six option for the Senators. Foegele topped the 40-point mark in each of the previous two campaigns, so he could rediscover his offense in Ottawa if he adjusts to his new teammates quickly.

  • Stars' Michael Bunting: Acquired for draft pick

Bunting was acquired by Dallas from Nashville on Thursday in exchange for a 2026 third-round selection, per Pierre LeBrun of TSN.

Bunting has 13 goals and 31 points in 61 outings with Nashville in 2025-26. While it's not clear if he'll make his Stars debut Friday versus Colorado, once he settles in, he should be a solid middle-six option for Dallas. Bunting might also see time on Dallas' second power-play unit.

  • Canadiens' Sam Montembeault: Set to start Friday

Montembeault will serve as the starting netminder for Friday's road game against Anaheim, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.

Montembeault has largely struggled in limited action dating back to mid-January, going 2-2-2 with a 3.32 GAA and .886 save percentage over his last six starts. He'll attempt to bounce back against the Ducks, who rank 13th in the NHL with 3.25 goals per game this year.

  • Canucks' Jack Thompson: Involved in minor-league swap

Thompson was acquired by Vancouver from San Jose on Thursday in exchange for Jett Woo.

Thompson has three goals and 12 points in 42 outings with AHL San Jose in 2025-26. The 23-year-old was selected by Tampa Bay with the No. 93 overall pick in the 2020 NHL Draft. He has four goals and 10 points in 34 career regular-season NHL outings, but he hasn't played at the top level in 2025-26.

  • Jett Woo D | SJ

Sharks' Jett Woo: Flipped in minor-league deal

Woo was traded to the Sharks from the Canucks on Thursday in exchange for Jack Thompson.

Woo has yet to appear in an NHL game despite having been selected by the Canucks in the second round of the 2018 NHL Draft. In his 26 minor-league outings this year, the 25-year-old blueliner has managed just one goal and seven assists. With the move, Woo will get a chance at a fresh start as he switches places with fellow minor-league defensman Thompson.

  • Blackhawks' Kevin Korchinski: Sent down Thursday

Korchinski was assigned to AHL Rockford on Thursday.

Korchinski was called up by the Blackhawks late in the Olympic break, and he appeared in two of Chicago's four games following the layoff. He's made four total appearances for the Blackhawks this year, recording no goals, an assist, three blocked shots and a hit while averaging 11:42 of ice time. He should have more consistent opportunities to make an impact in the minors.

  • Jeff Petry D | MIN

Wild's Jeff Petry: Acquired by Minnesota

Petry was traded to the Wild from the Panthers in exchange for a 2026 seventh-round pick Thursday.

Petry has made 58 appearances for Florida this year, recording no goals, eight assists, 59 hits, 57 blocked shots and 22 PIM while averaging a career-low 14:51 of ice time. The Panthers sit at the bottom of the Atlantic Division standings, but Petry will move to the Western Conference ahead of the trade deadline with an opportunity to contribute for a contending team.

  • John Gibson G | DET

Red Wings' John Gibson: Available for Friday

Gibson (upper body) is available to play at home against Florida on Friday, per Ansar Khan of MLive.com.

It remains to be seen if Gibson will be the starter Friday, but he's an option. Detroit returned Sebastian Cossa to AHL Grand Rapids as a result of Gibson's availability. The 32-year-old Gibson has a 23-12-2 record, 2.57 GAA and .906 save percentage in 39 appearances in 2025-26.
