Roster moves, transactions, etc.
Braves: Gordon Beckham was placed on the DL with a hamstring strain. Reliever Ryan Weber was called up as a replacement.
Cardinals: As expected, Ruben Tejada was actived from the DL, with Greg Garcia being optioned to Triple-A as a corresponding move.
Diamondbacks: Center fielder Socrates Brito was optioned to the minors and Chris Owings got the Monday start in center. It'll be interesting to see if they just use David Peralta in center most of the time moving forward, however, as it maximizes their offense.
Phillies: They acquired outfielder Alfredo Marte from the Orioles for a player to be named later or cash considerations, the clubs both announced. He's 27 years old and has 170 career plate appearances (.181/.249/.284 hitter).
Tigers: Reliever Blaine Hardy has been activated from the DL. As a corresponding move, reliever Logan Kensing has been designated for assignment.
Twins: Trevor Plouffe needs to hit the DL with an intercostal injury. As his replacement, prospect infielder Jorge Polanco will be called up (Darren Wolfson). Also, they have hired Ron Gardenhire as a special assistant to the general manager, Terry Ryan.

Blue Jays: Closer Roberto Osuna didn't get the save chance on Monday because he had a blister pop during his outing on Sunday (Shi Davidi).
Cubs: Kyle Schwarber's ACL/LCL surgery will happen this week (Jesse Rogers). They needed to wait for the swelling to come down.
Red Sox: Pablo Sandoval (shoulder) will be examined for a second time by Dr. James Andrews in two weeks (Brian MacPherson).
Reds: Anthony DeSclafani is looking to return from an oblique injury and threw two innings worth of batting practice Monday. He's now tentatively scheduled for two minor-league rehab outings before an MLB return (cincinnati.com).
Rockies: D.J. LeMahieu "tweaked" his left groin on Friday and sat Monday for the second time in the last three games (Thomas Harding).
Royals: Jarrod Dyson is on a minor-league rehab assignment but there's still no set timetable for his return to the bigs (kansascity.com).
Twins: Closer Glen Perkins has a shoulder injury, but it won't need surgery -- just rest and rehab, a second opinion confirmed (Mike Berardino). Also, Danny Santana (hamstring) will begin his rehab assignment on Wednesday in Class A (Rhett Bollinger).
Reports, rumors and speculation
Kyle Lohse: The free agent pitcher has an offer from the Orioles and has garnered interest from the Tigers, Reds and some others, per Jon Heyman. For the Tigers part, beat writer Chris Iott shoots down their interest in Lohse. Lohse is 37 and had a 5.85 ERA in 152 1/3 innings last season.
Mets: Jacob deGrom's infant son's health has improved to the point that he was able to go home. Excellent news for the deGrom family.
Rangers: The club isn't discussing any trades for starting catcher types with Robinson Chirinos hurt (dallasnews.com).
Miscellany
Michael Cuddyer: He's really enjoying retirement with no regrets for leaving money on the table to walk away (startribune.com).
Mike Piazza: His "9/11 jersey" was sold for $365K and will be publicly displayed, ending a slight controversy.
