  • Ravens' Derek Wolfe: Undergoes surgery

Coach John Harbaugh said Monday that Wolfe had hip labrum surgery after missing the entire 2021 campaign, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports. Wolfe signed a three-year, $12 million contract with the Ravens in March, but he suffered a hip injury in mid-August that sidelined him to start the season before Baltimore eventually put him on injured reserve. He was designated to return at the end of October, but he didn't progress as well as hoped and was ruled out for the rest of the year after he wasn't activated before the expiration of the 21-day window. It's unclear if the surgery will impact his ability to be ready for training camp ahead of the 2022 campaign.

  • Ravens' Derek Wolfe: Staying on IR for season

Wolfe (back/hip) will remain on injured reserve for the rest of the 2021 season, Aaron Wilson of Sportstalk 790 Houston reports. The 31-year-old missed his 21-day practice window after being designated for return Oct. 26. Wolfe will finish the season without ever appearing in a game.

  • Ravens' Derek Wolfe: Out Sunday

Wolfe (back) won't play Sunday against the Vikings, Jonas Shaffer of The Baltimore Sun reports. Wolfe's back reportedly still "isn't feeling good" according to coach John Harbaugh. The Ravens don't want to rush their defensive end back from injury too quickly, so they'll be cautious with his return. Expect Justin Madubuike to continue to receive a large portion of snaps at defensive end until Wolfe is able to make his return to the field. Wolfe's next chance to play will be in Week 10 against the Dolphins.

  • Ravens' Derek Wolfe: Designated to return from IR

The Ravens designated Wolfe (back) to return from injured reserve Tuesday, Jonas Shaffer of The Baltimore Sun reports. Wolfe returned to practice Monday, which will start the 21-day window for him to be added to the active roster. If he isn't, he will return to IR for the remainder of the season. The 31-year-old defensive end totaled 51 tackles, two pass deflections, one fumble recovery and one sack across 14 appearances during his first season with the Ravens, but he has yet to play this year. His return would be a huge plus for a defense that allowed 41 points to Joe Burrow and the Bengals during Week 7.

  • Ravens' Derek Wolfe: Lands on IR

The Ravens placed Wolfe (hip/back) on injured reserve Saturday. Wolfe has yet to suit up this season and was already ruled out for Week 4. The 31-year-old defensive end will miss at least three more weeks after the move to IR. Justin Madubuike and Broderick Washington will continue to be relied upon to fill in during Wolfe's absence.

  • Ravens' Derek Wolfe: Ruled out for Week 1

Wolfe (back/hip) will not play in Monday's season opener against the Raiders, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports. Wolfe was ruled out Saturday as he continues recovering from both back and hip injuries suffered in mid-August. While the 31-year-old veteran misses time, Justin Madubuike is a likely candidate to fill in at defensive end.

  • Ravens' Derek Wolfe: Staying in Baltimore

Wolfe signed a three-year, $12 million contract with the Ravens on Tuesday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports. Wolfe suited up in 14 games (eight starts) for the Ravens last season, producing a career-high 51 tackles but just one sack -- a career low. The 31-year-old made seven sacks for the Broncos in 2019, so he'll aim to boost that number going forward. Wolfe and Calais Campbell will enter the 2021 season as Baltimore's starting defensive ends, while Justin Madubuike will rotate in behind them.

  • Ravens' Derek Wolfe: Sits out Thursday

Wolfe (neck) didn't participate in Thursday's practice, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports. The specifics of the neck injury remain unclear, but it appears serious enough to force the veteran to miss practice time. Wolfe saw a bit of a dip in his playing time in Tuesday's win over Cleveland, seeing action in just 67 percent of defensive snaps, so he could have been dealing with the injury before Thursday. In any event, if Wolfe is forced to miss game action, Justin Madubuike and Jihad Ward would be in line for an uptick in snaps.

  • Ravens' Derek Wolfe: Full speed ahead

Wolfe (neck/concussion) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice. Coach John Harbaugh said Wolfe "should be fine" for the Week 8 matchup against the Steelers, and the defensive end's full-speed practice certainly lines up with that notion. Wolfe should be ready to start against a sturdy offensive line Sunday.

  • Ravens' Derek Wolfe: Sitting out Sunday

Wolfe (neck/concussion) is inactive for Sunday's game versus the Eagles. Wolfe popped up on the injury report Thursday and was unable to practice Friday, so it's not surprising that he'll sit out for Sunday's clash. Jihad Ward and rookie Justin Madubuike are expected to rotate in at defensive end and try to exploit the Eagles' banged-up offensive line Sunday.

  • Ravens' Derek Wolfe: Dealing with injury

Wolfe (neck) was a late add to Thursday's injury report, Jonas Shaffer of The Baltimore Sun reports. Wolfe suited up in Sunday's game against the Bengals despite an elbow issue, but he now appears to be dealing with a new problem. A late add to the injury report certainly isn't a good sign, so expect the team to monitor the veteran closely for Friday's practice. If Wolfe is forced to sit out Sunday's game against the Eagles, look for Jihad Ward to take on a starting role at defensive end.

  • Ravens' Derek Wolfe: Questionable for Week 4

Wolfe (elbow) is officially listed as questionable for Sunday's game against Washington. Wolfe practiced on a limited basis Friday. If Wolfe can't go Sunday, Jihad Ward would likely slide into his spot as the left defensive end.

  • Broncos' Derek Wolfe: Placed on IR

The Broncos placed Wolfe (elbow) on injured reserve Monday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Wolfe suffered a dislocated elbow during Sunday's win over the Chargers, the severity of which will cause him to miss the remainder of the season on injured reserve. In his stead, count on Dre'Mont Jones and Adam Gotsis to play expanded roles on defense.

  • Broncos' Derek Wolfe: Leaves with elbow issue

Wolfe exited Sunday's game against the Chargers with an elbow injury, Mike Klis of 9News Denver reports. Wolfe put together a superb effort before departing, as he notched two sacks to reach seven on the season, setting a new career high. The Broncos are already without pass-rusher Von Miller (knee). Dre'Mont Jones and Adam Gotsis are both expected to see an uptick in snaps during Wolfe's absence.

  • Broncos' Derek Wolfe: Drops QB twice

Wolfe registered three tackles (two solo), two sacks and three quarterback hits in Sunday's 15-13 win over the Broncos. Wolfe already has more quarterback pressures through eight games (12) than the entire 2018 season (10), and it's finally turning into production with four sacks over the last three contests. The 29-year-old will look to keep it up against in Week 9 against Baker Mayfield, who has been sacked on average three times per game.

  • Broncos' Derek Wolfe: Surfaces on injury report

Wolfe (hip) is listed as a limited participant in Monday's practice estimate, Nicki Jhabvala of The Athletic reports. This is a new injury, but Wolfe's status for Thursday's game against the Chiefs doesn't appear to be in jeopardy at this time. He managed to play 46 of 70 possible defensive snaps (66 percent) and record two sacks in this past Sunday's win over the Titans. Still, he'll need to get on the field when the Broncos host an actual practice this week.

  • Broncos' Derek Wolfe: Set for MRI

Wolfe (ankle) will have an MRI on Monday, Troy Renck of Denver 7 News reports. Wolfe was spotted in a walking boot after getting carted off the field during Sunday's loss to the Packers. The initial tests revealed no broken bones in his right ankle, but it sounds like Wolfe expects to miss at least one game. The MRI should reveal a more specific timeline.

  • Broncos' Derek Wolfe: Continuing with Denver

The Broncos have officially exercised the 2019 option on Wolfe's contract, Mike Klis of 9News Denver reports. Denver could have saved over $8 million in space by letting him walk, but the Broncos will instead keep Wolfe around as the 29-year-old enters the last year of his contract. He's more valuable in real life than fantasy, though, considering Wolfe has accrued just 74 tackles and 3.5 sacks on 1,169 defensive snaps over the past two seasons.

  • Broncos' Derek Wolfe: Clear for Week 14

Wolfe (ribs) won't carry an injury designation into Sunday's game at San Francisco, Ryan O'Halloran of The Denver Post reports. Wolfe sustained a small cartilage tear in his ribs during last Sunday's win over the Bengals, but he's apparently healthy enough to avoid the questionable tag. It remains to be seen if the 28-year-old faces any limitations from the injury, but he should take up his usual starting spot at defensive end against the 49ers.

  • Broncos' Derek Wolfe: Downgraded to out

Wolfe is ruled out to return to Sunday's game against the Bengals, Troy Renck of Denver 7 News reports. Wolfe was initially listed as questionable to return Week 13 but will ultimately remain sidelined for the rest of Sunday's tilt against the Bengals.
