  • Ravens' Pernell McPhee: Off to solid start

McPhee made three tackles (one solo) and a sack in Sunday's 59-10 win over the Dolphins. McPhee only played 51 percent of the team's defensive snaps, and he made an impact by dropping Dolphins QB Ryan Fitzpatrick. The veteran linebacker didn't have a pass-rushing role in Washington's defense last year, so it looks like the Ravens are using him in a different fashion in 2019.

  • Bears' Pernell McPhee: Another strong performance in Week 4

McPhee notched a sack and three tackles in Thursday's 35-14 loss to the Packers. Although Aaron Rodgers didn't drop back often in a game that had the Packers playing without their top five offensive tackles, McPhee made the most of his chances by collecting one of two Chicago sacks. With takedowns in back-to-back contests, McPhee is quickly becoming a sneaky IDP option.

  • Bears' Pernell McPhee: Active for season opener

McPhee (knee) is active for the Bears' season opener Sunday against the Falcons, Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reports. As was the case for much of last season when he played through injuries, McPhee will likely face a restricted snap count in Week 1 after the knee issue limited him in practices this week. McPhee should see most of his action on passing downs, offering assistance to the Bears' pass rush when outside linebackers Leonard Floyd and Willie Young require a breather.

  • Bears' Pernell McPhee: Questionable for Sunday

McPhee (knee) was limited in Friday's practice and is listed as questionable for Sunday's season opener against the Falcons. Bears defensive coordinator Vic Fangio said Thursday that there was a good chance McPhee would be ready for Sunday's contest, so it's likely the team was just remaining cautious with the linebacker during Friday's session. Head coach John Fox made similar comments Friday, saying he's excited to see the veteran pass rusher play. McPhee may largely be limited to snaps on passing downs, as Leonard Floyd and Willie Young are expected to start at outside linebacker.

  • Bears' Pernell McPhee: Could be back for OTAs

McPhee (shoulder) could be available to participate in OTAs next month, Dan Wiederer of the Chicago Tribune reports. When the linebacker, who is recovering from surgery on his torn left labrum, was asked if he'll be ready to join the team next month he said, "I don't know. That's up to God." McPhee's two-year stint in Chicago has been riddled with injuries, limiting the linebacker to participating in 23 of 32 games over the past two seasons. The veteran noted that he feels much better at this point than he did last year, when he was recovering from knee injury. He said, "I feel great. I look more sexy. It's definitely a blessing and I can't wait until the season starts...Obviously, last year wasn't a great year. The year before wasn't one. Now hopefully with me losing weight, staying focused, hopefully we can turn things around."

  • Bears' Pernell McPhee: Listed as doubtful

McPhee (knee) is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against the Redskins. Even with McPhee's production tailing off the last few weeks, this is still a huge loss for the inconsistent Chicago defense. He's easily the best player in the team's front seven, but the Bears do at least have solid depth at outside linebacker. Lamarr Houston, Willie Young and Sam Acho are all candidates to take on some of McPhee's snaps.
