  • Chargers' Alec Ingold: Signs with Bolts

The Chargers signed Ingold to a two-year, $7.5 million contract Sunday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports. The deal makes Ingold the NFL's highest-paid fullback and reunites him with OC Mike McDaniel, who was Ingold's head coach in Miami the previous four seasons. Ingold logged 37 percent of the offensive snaps across 17 regular-season games with the Dolphins during the 2025 campaign.

  • Alec Ingold: Officially let go by Miami

The Dolphins released Ingold on Friday. Ingold was slated to enter the final year of his three-year contract that he signed with the Dolphins in October of 2023, but the Wisconsin product will now enter free agency. He should garner interest from teams looking for a veteran blocker out of the backfield who can also contribute to the passing game from time to time.

  • Dolphins' Alec Ingold: Likely departing Miami

Ingold is expected to be released by the Dolphins on Friday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports. The Wisconsin product was set to enter the final season of a three-year, $12.2 million deal signed with the Dolphins in 2023, but he's since been let go. Ingold has spent time with the Raiders and Dolphins throughout his seven-year NFL career and earned a Pro Bowl selection following his 2023 season in Miami. Once the 29-year-old's release becomes official, he's expected to draw interest from teams in need of blocking and special-teams help ahead of next season.

Ingold carried the ball two times for nine yards and caught eight passes for 52 yards across 17 games in the 2025 season. Ingold once again served as Miami's starting fullback, primarily operating as a blocker and special-teamer. The 29-year-old totaled his fewest yards in a season since joining the Dolphins and has one year remaining on his contract.

  • Dolphins' Alec Ingold: No touches in Week 17

Ingold went without a carry or target while playing 28 of the Dolphins' 55 snaps on offense in Sunday's 20-17 win over the Buccaneers. The fullback had recorded short receptions in both of the previous two games, but quarterback Quinn Ewers didn't look Ingold's way on his 24 dropbacks on the afternoon. Ingold has suited up in each of the Dolphins' first 16 games and has recorded nine yards on two carries and 49 yards on seven receptions.

  • Dolphins' Alec Ingold: Full participant Thursday

Ingold (neck) was a full participant in practice Thursday, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinelreports. Ingold was limited in practice Wednesday, but he upgraded to full participation Thursday and was cleared of injury designation for Week 14. The 29-year-old has appeared on special teams this season, but the majority of his playing time has come via his 20.3 offensive snaps per game. The seventh-year pro has rushed two times for nine yards and caught five passes (seven targets) for 36 yards through 13 games.

  • Dolphins' Alec Ingold: Back to full health

Ingold practiced in full Wednesday, Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com reports. Ingold entered concussion protocol in early August, but he practiced in full and ditched his no-contact uniform Wednesday. He should be on track to begin the regular season in his typical role as a part-time player on offense as well as a special-teams contributor.

  • Dolphins' Alec Ingold: No injury designation for Week 17

Ingold (ankle) practiced in full Friday and does not have an injury designation ahead of Sunday's clash against Cleveland. Ingold appeared on Miami's injury report with an ankle issue Wednesday and was listed as a limited participant in the first two practices of the week. However, he was able to upgrade to a full session Friday and is good to go for Sunday. Ingold's main role in the Dolphins offense is as a blocker, though he also has 10 carries for 17 yards and a touchdown along with nine catches for 75 yards over 13 contests this season.

  • Dolphins' Alec Ingold: Limited to begin Week 17 prep

Ingold (ankle) was listed as a limited participant on Wednesday's estimated practice report. Ingold previously appeared on the Dolphins' Week 16 injury report with the same ankle issue. He opened last week with a pair of limited practices, then upgraded to full participation Friday and approached Sunday's game against the 49ers without a designation. In the Dolphins' 29-17 win over the 49ers, Ingold played 24 snaps on offense and finished with one carry for four yards. Assuming the fullback is able to practice fully by week's end, he should once again head into Sunday's matchup with the Browns without a designation.

Ingold (calf) has no injury designation ahead of Thursday night's matchup against the Packers, Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com reports. Ingold upgraded to full participation in Wednesday's walkthrough after opening Miami's week of practice with consecutive limited sessions, suggesting that he's moved past his calf injury in time for Thursday night's game. The 28-year-old has appeared in nine games this season, logging nine carries for 13 yards and catching seven of eight targets for 60 yards. He's expected to contribute on offense and special teams in Week 13.

  • Dolphins' Alec Ingold: Will play vs. New England

Ingold (calf) is active for Sunday's game against the Patriots, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports. Ingold has missed Miami's last two games after aggravating a calf injury Week 9 against the Bills. His return Sunday gives the Dolphins' run blocking a boost and will open space in the ground game for running backs De'Von Achane and Raheem Mostert.

  • Dolphins' Alec Ingold: Could return in Week 12

Ingold (calf) is listed as questionable ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Patriots, Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com reports. The Wisconsin product has been sidelined for the Dolphins' last two games due to an aggravation of his calf injury, but he practiced in a limited capacity throughout the week, giving himself a chance to return for Sunday's divisional matchup. If Ingold is forced to miss his third consecutive game in Week 12, Julian Hill, Durham Smythe and Jack Stoll could see some snaps at fullback.

  • Dolphins' Alec Ingold: Limited Wednesday

Ingold (calf) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports. Ingold has missed each of the Dolphins' last two games after aggravating his calf injury in the team's Week 9 loss to the Bills. Wednesday's limited practice session could be an indication that he's nearing a return to the field. His participation Thursday and Friday will likely offer the best insight into whether he can suit up in Week 12, when the Dolphins host the Patriots.

  • Dolphins' Alec Ingold: Sidelined for Week 11

Ingold (calf) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Raiders. Even though Ingold was able to practice in a limited capacity all week, his calf injury is severe enough that he will miss a second straight game. The Dolphins don't have any other fullback on the active roster, so tight ends Julian Hill, Durham Smythe and Jack Stoll may see an uptick in offensive snaps on run plays.

  • Dolphins' Alec Ingold: Not playing Monday

Ingold (calf) is inactive for Monday's game against the Rams. Ingold will be held out of Monday's game after being limited in practice all week due to a calf injury. It'll be the first game he's missed in the regular season, and his next chance at suiting up will be Week 11 against the Raiders on Sunday. Without their starting fullback, the Dolphins could utilize tight ends Julian Hill and Durham Smythe more on running plays.

  • Dolphins' Alec Ingold: Active Sunday

Ingold (calf) is good to go for Sunday's game in Buffalo. After producing 19 yards on three receptions in last week's 28-27 loss to the Cardinals, Ingold left the game with a bum ankle. However, he was able to recover enough throughout the week to give it a go versus Buffalo. The veteran fullback has quietly had his most productive season statistically, seeing targets in four games.

  • Dolphins' Alec Ingold: Notches reception in Week 13

Ingold played 20 of the Dolphins' 61 snaps on offense and recorded one reception for minus-three yards in Sunday's 45-15 win over the Commanders. Ingold hasn't taken any carries since Week 3, but the fullback has continued to see occasional involvement in the passing game as a dump-off target for quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. Over his last five games, Ingold has reeled in six of eight targets for 19 yards.

  • Dolphins' Alec Ingold: Suiting up Sunday

Ingold (foot) is active for Sunday's Week 11 contest versus the Raiders. Ingold entered the weekend as questionable due to a lingering foot injury, but he's been cleared to take the field Sunday in Miami. He hasn't gotten more than two touches in any game this season, so his ability to suit up isn't going to make waves in fantasy circles. However, Ingold is the Dolphins' only fullback, and his presence on the field helps the offense in ways that don't usually show up next to his name in the box score.

Ingold (foot) is listed as questionable ahead of Sunday's game against the Raiders, Travis Wingfield of the Dolphins' official site reports. The Wisconsin product has been managing this foot injury since Week 5, and he has yet to miss a game. The 27-year-old fullback has recorded 63 yards on seven touches this year while also playing on 26 percent of Miami's special-teams snaps.
