The Browns waived Evans on Friday.
Evans was waived without an injury settlement. The cornerback seems to have fully recovered from the quadriceps injury he sustained in the Browns' second preseason contest against the Bears. The 23-year-old will now be subject to a waiver period that extends through Sunday's cutdown day into Monday. If Evans goes unclaimed, he will become a free agent able to sign with any franchise's 53-man roster or practice squad.

Browns' Nate Evans: Exits with quadriceps issue
Rotowire
Evans (quadriceps) will not return to Saturday's preseason game against the Bears, Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN.com reports.
Evans logged one solo tackle before his exit. The cornerback's absence is compounded by Michael Coats' (ankle) early exit as well. With Damarri Mathis (undisclosed) and Tyron Herring (undisclosed) already on season-ending injured reserve, a thin cornerback room has just gotten thinner one week into preseason. The Browns will likely look to add a defensive back to the room in the coming days.
