  • Elijah Cooks: Waived by Saints

The Saints waived Cooks on Monday, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports. Cooks spent the last two months of the NFL season with the Saints after being cut from the Eagles' practice squad in September, but he didn't participate in a game for either team in 2025. The pass catcher signed a reserve/future deal with the team in early January, but he evidently won't be sticking around for training camp. Cooks will be subject to the waiver wire, only becoming a free agent if he clears the 24-hour waiver period where another team can claim him.

  • Saints' Elijah Cooks: Staying in NOLA on future deal

The Saints signed Cooks to a reserve/future contract Monday. Cooks spent the majority of the regular season without a team after being cut from the Eagles' practice squad in early September. He managed to catch on with the Saints' practice squad in early December but was not elevated to the active roster. Cooks will spend the offseason with the Saints and participate in offseason activities, with the hopes of showing the coaching staff enough to earn a spot on the active roster for 2026.

The Saints signed Cooks to the practice squad Thursday, John Sigler of SaintsWire reports. Cooks was cut from the Eagles' practice squad Sept. 8 and had been a free agent since before joining the Saints' ranks Thursday. With injuries to Devaughn Vele (shoulder) and Dante Pettis (illness), Cooks is a prime candidate for elevation to the active roster ahead of Sunday's game against the Jets.

  • Elijah Cooks: Dropped by Philadelphia

Cooks was cut from the Eagles' practice squad Monday. The third-year pro from San Jose State failed to make Philadelphia's initial 53-man roster but was added to the practice squad in late August. However, it now appears the Eagles have decided to move in another direction. Cooks will look for work elsewhere after posting three catches for 38 yards on four targets throughout his 11 career regular-season contests.

The Eagles signed Cooks to the practice squad Thursday. Cooks was cut by the Eagles on Monday, but he'll stick around in Philadelphia as a member of the team's practice squad. • Elijah Cooks: Fails to make 53-man roster

The Eagles waived Cooks on Monday, Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports. Cooks signed a futures deal with the Eagles in February after spending most of the 2024 season on the Jaguars' practice squad. He missed the Eagles' second preseason game against the Browns on Aug. 16 due to a shoulder injury, but he returned for the preseason finale against the Jets on Friday, finishing with two catches (on six targets) for 14 yards. Cooks will likely clear waivers, at which point he'll have the chance to sign with a team in need of a wide receiver; however, he could remain in Philadelphia as a member of the practice squad.

  • Eagles' Elijah Cooks: Not practicing Saturday

Cooks is not participating in Saturday's training camp practice due to a shoulder injury, Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports. Cooks suffered a shoulder injury during the Eagles' 34-27 preseason win over the Bengals on Thursday. He underwent an MRI, and while those results have not been made public, he will continue to sit out of practice until he recovers enough to return. Cooks inked a futures deal with the Eagles in February, so a prolonged absence will severely hurt his chances of making the 53-man roster at the end of training camp.
