Tate, the No. 4 overall pick in this year's NFL Draft, should battle Wan'Dale Robinson for the target lead in his rookie year, with Robinson working more underneath and Tate seeing more downfield targets. Tate's college production may look underwhelming, but it is worth remembering that he has played with Marvin Harrison Jr., Emeka Egbuka, and Jeremiah Smith at Ohio State. The Titans' receiver room doesn't feature nearly that much talent. Last year, Tate averaged 3.17 yards per route run with an aDOT of 14.62 and was not credited with a drop by PFF. He is our favorite rookie wide receiver and is worth a top-three pick in all formats in rookie drafts. If Cam Ward takes a step forward as a passer, Tate could be a top-20 wide receiver as soon as 2026. View Tate as a high-upside WR3 in 2026, worthy of a pick as early as Round 6 in full-PPR leagues.

Titans' Carnell Tate: Will be evaluated after hard hit

Coach Robert Saleh said Tate (undisclosed) will be evaluated after taking a hard hit at Monday's practice, Ben Arthur of FoxSports.com reports.
After hooking up with QB Cam Ward on a fourth-and-8 during drills Monday, Tate was slow to get up following the aforementioned hit but was able to walk to the sideline under his own power with a member of the training staff at his side, per Arthur. Saleh added he feels "good about where he's at," but upcoming testing will determine if Tate, the fourth overall pick in the 2026 Draft, requires any sort of stint off the practice field.

Titans' Carnell Tate: Blanked on three targets

Tate didn't come up with any of his three targets in the Titans' 19-13 preseason win over the 49ers on Thursday.
The rookie fourth overall pick was on the field for the Titans' opening possession and saw his first target in the end zone on second down. Tate's two other opportunities came during Tennessee's third drive, but he ultimately finished his night without making any impact on the stat sheet while working with starting quarterback Cam Ward during his time in the game. Despite the quiet debut, Tate naturally remains ticketed for a major role in his 2026 rookie campaign and will look to build some momentum during Tennessee's second preseason game against the Seahawks at home on Sunday, Aug. 23.
