Fantasy News

  • Colts' CJ Allen: Practices Sunday

Allen (hamstring) was a full participant in Sunday's practice, Kevin Bowen of 107.5 The Fan Indianapolis reports. Allen suffered a hamstring injury in early August, sustaining the injury just days after returning to practice from a calf issue. The rookie second-rounder is finally ready to resume team activities and continue preparing for his role as the starting middle linebacker. Allen's return means Austin Ajiake and West Weeks will likely see fewer opportunities in Saturday's preseason game against the Falcons.

  • Colts' CJ Allen: Dealing with hamstring injury

Allen was unavailable for the Colts' practice Thursday due to a hamstring injury, James Boyd of The Athletic reports. Allen returned to practice July 31 after opening training camp on the active/PUP list with a calf strain, but he has now suffered another injury. Head coach Shane Steichen announced the injury to the media after Thursday's practice, outlining that the linebacker currently has no timetable to return. If Allen is forced to miss the team's preseason opener against the Patriots on Thursday, Austin Ajiake and West Weeks would be two of the top candidates to see an increase in workload at middle linebacker during the contest.

  • Colts' CJ Allen: Comes off active/PUP list

Allen (calf) will practice Friday after being removed from the active/PUP list, JJ Stankevitz of the Colts' official site reports. Allen sat out the first two practices of training camp due to what GM Chris Ballard described as a muscle strain in Allen's calf, but the rookie second-round pick has now been cleared for action. The 53rd overall selection out of Georgia is the favorite to start out of the gate at middle linebacker for the Colts.

  • Colts' CJ Allen: Placed on active/PUP list

Allen (calf) was placed on the active/PUP list by the Colts on Monday, Stephen Holder of ESPN.com reports. The linebacker's "absence is expected to be brief," per Holder. Allen can be activated from the PUP list at any time during training camp. Indianapolis selected the Georgia linebacker in the second round back in April, and he projects as a possible starter for the upcoming season.
