  • Saints' Colby Wooden: Heading to New Orleans

The Saints claimed Wooden off waivers from the Colts on Monday. Wooden will head to New Orleans after being waived by Indianapolis. The 2023 fourth-rounder spent the first three years of his NFL career with the Packers, finishing the 2025 regular season with 50 tackles (26 solo) and one pass defense across 17 games (16 starts). Cameron Jordan's status for Week 1 against the Lions is up in the air due to a hamstring issue, and with Bryan Bresee (knee) on injured reserve, Wooden figures to see plenty of snaps in a starting role in 2026.

  • Colts' Colby Wooden: Traded to Indianapolis

The Packers traded Wooden to the Colts on Saturday in exchange for Zaire Franklin, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. It's a straight one-for-one trade between Green Bay and Indianapolis, with the Colts netting a young defensive lineman in Wooden. The 2023 fourth-rounder is coming off a solid 2025 campaign in which he logged 50 tackles 26 solo) and one pass defense across 17 regular-season games.

  • Packers' Colby Wooden: Ruled out Sunday

Wooden (shoulder) has been downgraded to out for the rest of Sunday's game against the Panthers. The defensive tackle suffered the injury in the first half and had to be evaluated in the medical tent. Wooden did not get on the stat sheet before exiting. Devonte Wyatt and Karl Brooks could see more time in his absence.

  • Packers' Colby Wooden: Hurts shoulder, questionable to return

Wooden is questionable to return to Sunday's Week 9 game against Carolina due to a shoulder injury. Wooden was hurt in the first half and was deemed questionable to return late in the second quarter after being evaluated in the medical tent. It would be a big loss for the Packers if he's unable to return, as Wooden has been a key part of the team's defensive line. Devonte Wyatt and Karl Brooks could both be leaned upon more while Wooden is sidelined.

  • Packers' Colby Wooden: Plays in 13 games for Green Bay

Wooden finished the 2024 season with 20 tackles (nine solo) and two pass breakups across 13 regular-season contests. A fourth-round pick out of Auburn in the 2023 NFL Draft, Wooden has appeared in 30 games for the Packers over the last two seasons, making one start. However, he hasn't made much of an impact in the box score, tallying just four QB hits and three tackles for loss, including 0.5 sacks, on 489 defensive snaps. Wooden will look to carve out a more prominent role along Green Bay's defensive line in his third season.

  • Packers' Colby Wooden: Active Sunday

Wooden (shoulder) is active for Sunday's game against the 49ers, Mike Spofford of the Packers' official site reports. The defensive tackle suffered the shoulder injury during Green Bay's Week 9 loss to Detroit but couldn't return for the team's Week 11 win over Chicago even with the benefit of a bye in between. Wooden has eight tackles (two solo) and a pass defensed on 91 defensive snaps in 2024.
