  • Ja'Markis Weston: Gets waived from IR

Seattle waived Weston (undisclosed) from its injured-reserve list with an injury settlement Thursday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. Provided he's not claimed by another team during the current waiver period, Weston is now in line to become a free agent. In three games with the Jets in 2025, he played 56 total snaps, all on special teams.

  • Ja'Markis Weston: Reverts to IR

Weston (undisclosed) reverted to the Seahawks' injured reserve Sunday, Corbin K. Smith of SI.com reports. Weston was not claimed off waivers and will now spend the 2026 season on IR. If the linebacker reaches an injury settlement with the Seahawks, he may have a shot to play elsewhere, but the intermittent special-teams player will likely set his sights on 2027.

  • Ja'Markis Weston: Cut loose by Gang Green

The Jets waived Weston on Saturday, Susanna Weir of the team's official site reports. The move corresponds with the Jets activating Marcelino McCrary-Ball (hamstring) from injured reserve. Weston served solely on special teams across three regular-season games and posted two tackles over that span. If he clears waivers, Weston could remain with the Jets as a member of the team's practice squad.

  • Jets' Ja'Markis Weston: Activated from IR

The Jets activated Weston (groin) from injured reserve Saturday, but he is still listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Panthers, Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic reports. The undrafted rookie logged a full practice Friday, and his removal from injured reserve indicates that he is on track to make his NFL regular-season debut Sunday. Weston opened the season on IR due to a groin injury.

  • Jets' Ja'Markis Weston: Practice window opens

Weston (undisclosed) was designated to return from the injured reserve list Wednesday. The Florida product missed the Jets' first five games this season after he was placed on IR in late August with an undisclosed injury. He now has 21 days to be added to the team's active roster before reverting to IR. When Weston returns from injury, he's expected to play a depth role in the Jets' linebacker corps.

  • Jets' Ja'Markis Weston: Starting season on IR

The Jets placed Weston (undisclosed) on injured reserve Tuesday with a designation to return, Randy Lange and Eric Allen of the team's official site reports. The severity and nature of Weston's injury isn't clear, but he'll start the campaign on IR and be forced to miss at least the first four games of the season. That makes Week 5 against the Cowboys on Sunday, Oct. 5 the first opportunity for Weston to make his NFL regular-season debut.
