  • Ravens' Matthew Hibner: Catches sole target in win

Hibner caught his only target for 13 yards in the Ravens' 41-23 win over the Colts on Sunday. Hibner played 23 offensive snaps in the contest, shifting into the offense when the Ravens lined up for 13-personnel packages. The fourth-round rookie also played nine special-teams snaps, displaying his versatility.

  • Ravens' Matthew Hibner: Two catches to close preseason

Hibner caught two of three targets for 11 yards in Friday's 41-3 preseason win over the Commanders. Eight different Ravens caught multiple passes in the rout as neither team used their starters, and Hibner worked with the first-team offense, catching one pass from Tyler Huntley and another from Joe Fagnano. Hibner, a fourth-round rookie out of SMU, is fighting for snaps and targets at tight end behind veterans Mark Andrews and Durham Smythe, with his main competition being fellow first-year player Josh Cuevas.

  • Ravens' Matthew Hibner: Blanked vs. Minnesota

Hibner failed to haul in his two targets during the Ravens' 13-3 preseason win over the Vikings on Saturday. Both Hibner and Josh Cuevas were listed as the Ravens' starting tight ends Saturday while Mark Andrews and Durham Smythe did not play. Hibner couldn't haul in either target from Joe Fagnano in the second half, though the Ravens offense as a whole struggled to just 193 passing yards. Hibner, a fourth-round rookie out of SMU, is competing against Smythe for the TE2 role behind Andrews, though Hibner will likely start the regular season as the third-string tight end. The Ravens' preseason finale takes place Friday against the Commanders.

  • Ravens' Matthew Hibner: Added by Ravens

The Ravens selected Hibner in the fourth round of the 2026 NFL Draft, 133rd overall. The Ravens lost tight ends Isaiah Likely to the Giants and Charlie Kolar to the Chargers in free agency, so they're likely hoping Hibner along with free-agent addition Durham Smythe can add immediate depth behind Mark Andrews. Hibner spent six years in college. He caught just two passes through his first four seasons at Michigan before transferring to SMU for his final two years of eligibility and producing 55 receptions for 804 yards and eight touchdowns over 27 games. Hibner is an impressive athlete with a 4.57 40-yard dash at 6-foot-4, 251 pounds, and he's a strong route runner with dependable hands. However, he'll need to immediately prove that his blocking skills can translate to the NFL before he establishes himself in the rotation.
