  • Bears' Gervon Dexter: Limited on Monday's estimation

Dexter (knee) was listed as a limited participant on Monday's estimated practice report. Dexter was injured in Week 14 against San Francisco and has missed Chicago's last two contests. He's trending in the right direction after logging a limited practice last Friday following a pair of DNPs. Dexter has been a bright spot for the Bears' defense this season, logging 44 tackles (23 solo), including 5.0 sacks, 16 total QB hits and a pair of fumble recoveries. Chris Williams, Byron Cowart and Zacch Pickens paced the Bears in defensive snaps at defensive tackle against the Lions this past Sunday.

  • Bears' Gervon Dexter: Out Week 16

Dexter (knee) is inactive for Sunday's game versus the Lions. Dexter was limited at Friday's practice following back-to-back DNPs, but that trend in the right direction will not be enough to get him the green light versus Detroit. In his absence, Chris Williams, Byron Cowart and Jonathan Ford are candidates to fill in at defensive tackle next to Zacch Pickens.

  • Bears' Gervon Dexter: Limited participant Friday

Dexter (knee) was a limited participant in Friday's practice and is questionable for this weekend's matchup against Detroit. Dexter logged DNPs on Wednesday and Thursday, so this limited practice does show he's moving in the right direction. The starting defensive tackle's status, though, will likely now be decided on Sunday morning before the Bears kick off against the Lions.

  • Bears' Gervon Dexter: Won't play Week 15

Dexter (knee) has been ruled out for Monday's matchup against Minnesota. Dexter likely hurt his knee against San Francisco in Week 14, as he logged only 21 percent of Chicago's defensive snaps in that loss. The defensive lineman didn't practice at all this week and consequently will miss his first game of the campaign. Chris Williams may be asked to play more defensive snaps against the Vikings on Sunday in Dexter's stead.

  • Bears' Gervon Dexter: Listed as non-participant

Dexter (knee) was a non-participant at Thursday's walkthrough practice. Dexter played a season-low 21 percent of defensive snaps during Chicago's loss to the 49ers in Week 14, seemingly due to the knee injury he's now managing. If the second-year pro can't get healthy in time for Monday's divisional road matchup against the Vikings, Byron Cowart and Chris Williams will stand to see increased opportunities at defensive tackle.

  • Bears' Gervon Dexter: First sack since Week 5

Dexter recorded seven tackles (three solo), including 1.0 sacks, and also recovered a fumble in the Bears' 23-20 loss to the Lions on Thursday. Dexter averaged 2.5 tackles through Chicago's first six games, but the defensive tackle has notched at least five stops in four of the last six games. However, the second-year player has just 1.0 sack in the last seven contests after starting the season with 4.0 sacks through Week 5. Dexter has been an inconsistent IDP, but in leagues that start defensive tackles, he is a weekly upside play.

  • Bears' Gervon Dexter: Remains hot

Dexter posted a sack and three tackles in the Bears' 36-10 win over the Panthers on Sunday. Dexter has 4.0 sacks in five games while averaging three tackles. His ability to sack the quarterback has given him excellent upside potential at the defensive tackle position.

  • Bears' Gervon Dexter: Another sack in defeat

Dexter recorded a sack as his only tackle in the Bears' 19-13 loss to the Texans on Sunday. The defensive tackle now has a sack in each of Chicago's two games and five total stops in that span. As an interior lineman, the tackle numbers may not be high on a weekly basis, so Dexter's ability to rush the passer could be his best path to IDP success.

  • Bears' Gervon Dexter: Collects sack in opener

Dexter recorded four tackles and a sack in the Bears' 24-17 win over the Titans on Sunday. After posting 20 tackles and two sacks as a rookie last year, Dexter had an excellent start to the 2024 season. With the Bears potentially having an improved defense this year, Dexter could be in line to build on his solid Week 1. In IDP leagues that use the defensive tackle position, Dexter could be worth a speculative waiver add.

  • Bears' Gervon Dexter: Best game of rookie season

Dexter recorded five tackles and 1.5 sacks in the Bears' 37-17 win over the Falcons on Sunday. This was the first game since Week 3 that Dexter posted more than two tackles in a game. In addition, after not entering the sack column until Week 14, the rookie has recorded at least half a sack in three of his last four games. He'll likely remain a low-floor IDP option in Week 18 against the Packers, but he could boost his value if he can add another sack.
