Vikings' Brian O'Neill: Sidelined by heel issue
O'Neill (heel) did not practice Wednesday.
O'Neill suffered what was termed an ankle injury in Sunday night's game against Dallas. However, he was sidelined by a heel issue Wednesday, with a presumably related issue. O'Neill has two additional days to improve his outlook for Sunday's game against the Giants.

Vikings' Ryan Kelly: Sidelined to start week
Kelly (knee) did not practice Wednesday.
It's unclear when Kelly suffered the knee injury, though he's had an injury-plagued season, suiting up for only seven games. He has two days to improve his practice participation to have a chance to suit up Sunday against the Giants.

Vikings' Christian Darrisaw: Still no practice
Darrisaw (knee) did not practice Wednesday.
Darrisaw tried to play through his knee injury in early December but was unable to suit up in Week 15 against Dallas. Head coach Kevin O'Connell didn't commit to a timeline for Darrisaw to return, though his status for Week 16 against the Giants looks to be in doubt.

Vikings' Jonathan Greenard: Placed on injured reserve
The Vikings placed Greenard (shoulder) on injured reserve Wednesday, Craig Peters of the team's official site reports.
Head coach Kevin O'Connell told reporters Wednesday that Greenard would undergo season-ending shoulder surgery, and the latter's placement on injured reserve confirms that he will be sidelined for the rest of the 2025 campaign. The veteran linebacker will shift his focus into progressing enough in his recovery to be fully healthy for the start of the 2026 season.

Vikings' Javon Hargrave: Sidelined by thigh injury
Hargrave (thigh) did not practice Wednesday.
Hargrave suffered what was termed a groin injury in Sunday night's win over the Cowboys. While he was sidelined with a thigh injury Wednesday, the issue is presumably the same. Hargrave's status looks to be in jeopardy for Sunday's matchup against the Giants.

Vikings' Ty Chandler: Logs another full practice
Chandler (knee) logged a full practice Wednesday,
Chandler has been practicing for most of December after he was designated to return from injured reserve. It remains unclear if he'll be activated ahead of Minnesota's Week 16 matchup against the Giants, and he'd likely return primarily to special teams duties.

Vikings' Josh Metellus: Officially placed on IR
The Vikings placed Metellus (shoulder) on injured reserve Wednesday, Craig Peters of the team's official site reports.
Metellus will undergo surgery to repair a shoulder injury that he has played through for the Vikings' last two games, and his placement on IR confirms that he will miss the final three games of the regular season. The sixth-year safety will turn his attention toward rehabbing from his procedure and being fully healthy for the start of training camp in July of 2026.

Vikings' Jalen Nailor: Tending to back injury
Nailor was limited at Wednesday's practice due to a back injury.
Nailor has settled into a regular role in the Vikings offense this season and even is coming of the first multi-touchdown performance of his career this past Sunday at Dallas. However, he's now dealing with a health concern in the wake of that contest, giving him two chances to get back to ful this week before the Vikings potentially tag him with a designation ahead of Sunday's game at the Giants.

Vikings' Ben Yurosek: Limited playing time in Week 15
Yurosek wasn't targeted while taking the field for just one of the Vikings' 55 snaps on offense in Sunday's 34-26 win over the Cowboys.
Yurosek was active for the first time since Week 11 but once again handled a muted role on offense. Through nine appearances on the season, the reserve tight end has logged 73 total snaps on offense and has produced a five-yard reception on two targets.

Vikings' Myles Price: Racks up return yardage in win
Price returned six kickoffs for 143 yards in Sunday's 34-26 win over the Cowboys.
Price also took the field for a play on offense, but the depth receiver has yet to touch the ball as anything but a return man through his first 14 NFL games. While ball security (four fumbles) has been somewhat of an issue for Price, he's provided a boost to the Minnesota special teams with an average of 26.0 yards per kickoff return and 9.9 yards per punt return.

Vikings' Tai Felton: Just one snap in Week 15
Felton went without a target while taking the field for only one of the Vikings' 55 snaps on offense in Sunday's 34-26 win over the Cowboys.
Felton notched his second reception of the season in a Week 14 blowout win over the Commanders, but he went back to having a non-existent role on offense in a more tightly contested Week 15 contest. The rookie third-round pick out of Maryland is expected to continue seeing most of his playing time on special teams rather than offense while all of the Vikings' top three receivers -- Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison and Jalen Nailor -- are available.

Vikings' Zavier Scott: No snaps on offense in Week 15
Scott played all three of his snaps on special teams in Sunday's 34-26 win over the Cowboys.
Scott picked up three carries in garbage time of last week's 31-0 win over the Commanders, but the Vikings leaned exclusively on Aaron Jones and Jordan Mason out of the backfield in a more competitive Week 15 contest. Unless one of Jones or Mason misses a game due to injury, Scott is unlikely to have much of a role on offense, if any, over the final three weeks of the season.

Vikings' Josh Metellus: Out for 2025
Head coach Kevin O'Connell told reporters Wednesday that Metellus will have his injured shoulder surgically repaired and miss the remainder of the 2025 season, Kevin Seifert of ESPN.com reports.
Metellus has been dealing with a shoulder injury over the last couple of weeks, and the Vikings have now decided to shut him down for the remainder of the season to have the injury surgically repaired. The 27-year-old is a crucial part of Minnesota's defense, recording 86 total tackles and six passes defensed, including two interceptions, across 14 games this year. While he's sidelined, expect Jay Ward to have an expanded role in the Vikings' secondary.

Vikings' Gavin Bartholomew: Practice window opens
Bartholomew (back) was designated to return from the reserve/PUP list Wednesday.
The rookie tight end from Pittsburgh was placed on the PUP list in late August due to a back issue, but it now appears he's nearing a return. Bartholomew has yet to make his NFL debut after posting 322 receiving yards and four touchdowns on 38 receptions during his final collegiate season. Once fully healthy, he'll likely play a depth role in the Vikings' tight-end corps.

Vikings' Josh Oliver: Makes one catch in Week 16
Oliver recorded an 18-yard catch on his lone target in Sunday's 34-26 win over the Cowboys.
After making a splash in the Vikings' 31-0 win over the Commanders in Week 14 with a pair of touchdown grabs, Oliver was held quiet Sunday, despite Minnesota clearing the 30-point threshold once again. Even with top tight end T.J. Hockenson available, Oliver continued to see ample playing time, as he was on the field for 34 of the Vikings' 55 snaps on offense. Even if that playing-time trend holds through the Vikings' final three games of the season, Oliver will remain a touchdown-dependent fantasy option at tight end with limited appeal.
