Spencer Torkelson 1B | DET
Tigers' Spencer Torkelson: Tallies three hits in New York
Torkelson went 3-for-5 with two runs scored in Wednesday's 11-1 win over the Yankees.
Torkelson enjoyed his evening at Yankee Stadium, tallying his first three-hit effort since July and just his third of the season. The slugging first baseman is in a bit of a power drought, as he's now gone 14 games without a home run. Torkelson does still have 28 homers overall, which is second on the team behind Riley Greene and just three away from tying his career high, which Torkelson set back in 2023.

Nick Kurtz 1B | ATH
Athletics' Nick Kurtz: Up to 30 homers
Kurtz went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 5-4 win over the Red Sox.
Kurtz put the A's ahead 2-1 in the second inning with an opposite-field shot off Payton Tolle, his 30th homer of the season and third in his last seven games. The rookie first baseman is batting .302 with a 1.023 OPS -- tops among all rookies -- 77 runs scored and 74 RBI across 426 plate appearances this season.

Jonathan Aranda 1B | TB
Rays' Jonathan Aranda: Resumes playing catch
Aranda (wrist) was cleared to play catch and hit off a tee Wednesday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
A visit to the doctor Wednesday revealed that Aranda's fractured left wrist is progressing well, which has allowed the Rays to begin gradually adding activities to his rehab program. However, it remains unclear whether he'll be able to return before the end of the regular season.

Jake Burger 3B | TEX
Rangers' Jake Burger: Homers twice in win
Burger went 2-for-3 with two home runs, three total RBI and an additional run scored in Wednesday's 6-3 victory over the Brewers.
Burger got Texas on the board in the second inning with a 432-foot blast off Freddy Peralta before extending the lead to 5-2 in the fifth with his second homer of the day. The 29-year-old Burger has gone 12-for-35 (.343) with four homers and 11 RBI in his last 10 games. Overall, he's slashing .246/.280/.449 with 16 home runs and 49 RBI across 339 plate appearances this season.

Bobby Seymour 1B | TB
Rays' Bob Seymour: Losing hold on regular playing time
Seymour is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the White Sox, Ryan Bass of FanDuel Sports Network Sun reports.
Seymour will take a seat for the fourth game in a row, with three of his absences coming against right-handed pitching. He appears to have settled into a reserve role while the Rays give Richie Palacios a look as their primary option at first base. Since his Aug. 15 call-up from Triple-A Durham, Seymour has slashed .200/.238/.300 with a 38.1 percent strikeout rate in 42 plate appearances.

Nolan Schanuel 1B | LAA
Angels' Nolan Schanuel: Aiming to return next week
Schanuel (wrist) is hoping to be activated from the 10-day injured list next week during the Angels' road trip, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
Schanuel will travel to the Angels' spring training complex in Arizona on Wednesday to ramp up his baseball activities. If that goes well, it appears he might skip a rehab assignment and rejoin the Angels' active roster sometime next week. Schanuel has been sidelined for nearly three weeks due to a bone bruise on his left wrist.

Romy Gonzalez 2B | BOS
Red Sox's Romy Gonzalez: Out of lineup with knee issue
Gonzalez (knee) is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Athletics, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.
David Hamilton will occupy the keystone in the series finale in Sacramento after Gonzalez was removed in the second inning of Tuesday's 6-0 win due to left knee soreness. Gonzalez -- who went 2-for-2 with a home run, a double and two RBI prior to his departure -- is considered day-to-day, with manager Alex Cora noting that he's not overly worried about the infielder's injury, per Cotillo. With a team off day on tap Thursday, Gonzalez will essentially benefit from two days of rest before potentially returning to the lineup Friday against the Yankees.

Ezequiel Duran SS | TEX
Rangers' Ezequiel Duran: Idle for second straight game
Duran is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Brewers.
After a stretch of five consecutive starts at four different positions, Duran will take a seat for the second day in a row, with both of his absences coming while the Brewers have sent right-handers to the mound. Duran looks like he'll mainly be limited to a short-side platoon role in the Texas infield while the Rangers turn to Josh Smith and Cody Freeman as their preferred double-play tandem against right-handed pitching.

Donovan Solano 1B | TEX
Rangers' Donovan Solano: Lands with Texas
Solano signed a minor-league contract with the Rangers on Tuesday, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Solano lost his spot on the Mariners on Sept. 1 after slashing .252/.295/.344 with 21 RBI and 10 runs scored across 176 plate appearances. The 37-year-old won't be eligible to contribute in the postseason if the Rangers secure a wild-card spot, but he'll provide the team with a bit of organizational depth for the final push.

Romy Gonzalez 2B | BOS
Red Sox's Romy Gonzalez: Dealing with sore knee
Gonzalez was taken out of Tuesday's game versus the Athletics due to left knee soreness, Tim Healey of The Boston Globe reports.
Gonzalez's knee forced him to make an early exit in the second inning, but not before he blasted a leadoff home run in the first frame and an RBI double in the second. The severity of the 29-year-old's injury remains unknown, keeping the door open for David Hamilton or Nick Sogard to pick up reps at the keystone in the near future.
