  • Anthony Rizzo 1B | NYY

Yankees' Anthony Rizzo: On bench Monday

Rizzo isn't starting Monday against the Rangers.

Rizzo is getting a day off after he went 2-for-12 with two runs and four strikeouts over the last three games. DJ LeMahieu will take over at first base and bat fifth.

  • Yandy Diaz 1B | TB

Rays' Yandy Diaz: Still bothered by shoulder

Diaz will remain out of the lineup for Monday's game in Boston while he continues to be bothered by soreness in his left shoulder, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Diaz has made just one start in the Rays' last 12 games due to the shoulder injury, which he aggravated in his return to the lineup during Friday's 7-3 win over the Astros. Isaac Paredes should continue to be the main beneficiary of added playing time at third base for however long Diaz remains sidelined.

  • Gabriel Arias SS | CLE

Guardians' Gabriel Arias: Getting regular run

Arias will start at shortstop and bat seventh in Monday's game against the Royals.

With regular shortstop Amed Rosario getting the night off, Arias will step in and pick up his eighth consecutive start. He's seen work at all four infield spots during that stretch and has earned his playing time by slashing .238/.429/.476 with two extra-base hits, one stolen base and a 6:6 BB:K in those prior seven contests.

  • Josh Naylor 1B | SEA

    Guardians' Josh Naylor: Resting Monday

Naylor is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Royals.

After starting the past three games while going 3-for-11 with a home run and three RBI, Naylor will take a seat Monday. The Guardians are likely just building in some extra rest for Naylor in advance of the postseason, when he's expected to be a mainstay in the Cleveland lineup.

  • Royals' Vinnie Pasquantino: Gets aboard four times

Pasquantino went 3-for-4 with a walk, an RBI and a run scored in Sunday's 7-5 loss to the Guardians.

Over his last 14 games, Pasquantino has produced eight multi-hit efforts while going hitless only once. However, he hadn't driven in a run for five games prior to Sunday. The rookie first baseman's impressive surge of late has lifted his season slash line to .291/.381/.441 with nine home runs, 25 RBI, 23 runs scored and 10 doubles through 286 plate appearances. He'll look to keep up the hot hitting with three more games against Cleveland to end the campaign.

  • Josh Naylor 1B | SEA

Guardians' Josh Naylor: Clubs homer in win

Naylor went 2-for-3 with a three-run home run in Sunday's 7-5 win over the Royals.

Naylor went yard in the second inning, and his homer gave the Guardians enough offense to withstand the Royals' pushback over the rest of the contest. Over his last eight games, Naylor's gone 6-for-30 (.200) with a homer, four RBI, three doubles and three runs scored. The 25-year-old's small slump has dropped his slash line to .254/.316/.449 with 20 long balls, 76 RBI, 46 runs scored, six stolen bases and 27 doubles in 121 games overall, and he's still seeing the majority of playing time at first base.

  • Carlos Santana 1B | ARI

Mariners' Carlos Santana: Productive at plate in win

Santana went 2-for-4 with an RBI single and two runs in a win over the Athletics on Saturday.

Santana provided a key early hit for the Mariners with his first-inning RBI single that plated Dylan Moore to erase an early 1-0 deficit. The veteran's ugly .196/.312/.376 slash line is naturally a concern overall, but he's now reached safely in seven of his last eight games.

  • Yandy Diaz 1B | TB

Rays' Yandy Diaz: Sitting again Sunday

Diaz is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Astros, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.

Diaz rejoined the lineup Friday after missing eight games with a shoulder injury and went 3-for-4 with a double, a walk, two RBI and two runs, but he finds himself on the bench Sunday for a second straight contest. Isaac Paredes will receive another look at the hot corner in the series finale at Houston.

  • Nate Lowe 1B | CIN

Rangers' Nathaniel Lowe: Goes yard again

Lowe went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in Saturday's 3-2 loss to the Angels.

The Rangers had only two hits in the contest, with Lowe's seventh-inning blast accounting for their run production. The first baseman has an extra-base hit in three of the last four games. He's up to a .302/.355/.497 slash line with 27 homers, 76 RBI, 72 runs scored and three triples through 152 contests in a breakout campaign.

  • Jose Abreu 1B | HOU

White Sox's Jose Abreu: Absent from Saturday's lineup

Abreu isn't starting Saturday against the Padres.

Abreu went 4-for-14 with two doubles, two RBI and a strikeout over the last four games, but he'll be out of the lineup for the second time in less than a week. Andrew Vaughn will take over at first base and bat sixth.
