Bell served as the designated hitter and went 0-for-4 with an RBI in Tuesday's 8-7 win over San Francisco.

Bell, who had been the primary first baseman for the last month, moved to DH as Christian Walker returned to first base after being activated off the 10-day injured list. Bell acquitted himself well as a replacement, batting .283 with an .809 OPS over 28 games, and should see work as the DH against left-handers going forward.

  • Diamondbacks' Christian Walker: Garners hit in return

Walker went 1-for-5 with an RBI in Tuesday's 8-7 win over the Giants.

Walker was in the starting lineup on the day he was activated from the 10-day injured list. He missed the entire month of August because of an oblique injury. Walker is set to resume his role as the everyday first baseman.

  • Nationals' Juan Yepez: Out of Tuesday's lineup

Yepez is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Marlins, Bobby Blanco of MASNSports.com reports.

  • Diamondbacks' Christian Walker: Returns from IL

The Diamondbacks reinstated Walker (oblique) from the 10-day injured list Tuesday, Jesse Friedman of GoPHNX.com reports.

A left oblique strain sent Walker to the injured list at the end of July, and he's now set to reclaim his role as Arizona's everyday first baseman. The 33-year-old slashed .152/.293/.273 with a homer and five RBI across his last 10 games prior to getting hurt, and he may need some time to kick the rust off after not playing in any rehab games. Lourdes Gurriel (calf) was placed on the IL in a corresponding move.

  • Dodgers' Freddie Freeman: Lifts pair of homers

Freeman went 2-for-3 with two two-run home runs and a sacrifice fly during Monday's 11-6 win over the Diamondbacks.

  • Diamondbacks' Christian Walker: Activation imminent

Walker (oblique) will rejoin the Diamondbacks for this week's series in San Francisco, Jesse Friedman of GoPHNX.com reports.

It would appear he will be activated from the 10-day injured list during the series, perhaps as soon as Tuesday. Walker has been working out at the team's spring training complex in Arizona and got in some live at-bats over the weekend. The first baseman has been sidelined since late July with a left oblique strain.
