Freeman went 3-for-4 with a triple, a double, a walk, five RBI and a run during Tuesday's 8-2 win over the Reds.

The 32-year-old came into Tuesday's contest with only two RBI over his past eight games, but he matched that total during the third inning with a two-run double. Freeman then delivered a bases-loaded triple in the eighth to break the game open for Los Angeles. He now has a five-game hit streak during which he's gone 9-for-20 with a home run, a triple, two doubles, six RBI, three runs and a stolen base.

Alonso went 3-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Tuesday's 8-2 loss to the Astros.

Alonso tagged Astros starter Jose Urquidy for a solo shot in the sixth inning to get the Mets on the board. In June alone, Alonso has swatted seven of his 20 homers this season. The first baseman has added 18 RBI, 13 runs scored, a stolen base and a pair doubles this month, and he's maintained a sturdy .285/.366/.559 slash line with 65 RBI in 69 contests overall.

Flores is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against Atlanta, Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic reports.

In the wake of Brandon Belt's recent return from the injured list, the Giants are back to full strength in the infield for one of the few times this season. As a result, Flores could find himself out of the lineup against right-handed pitchers like Atlanta's Spencer Strider more frequently, though manager Gabe Kapler's willingness to liberally dole out rest days to his veterans shouldn't make Flores a complete afterthought. At the very least, Flores should have a secure lineup spot versus lefties; he's produced a 117 wRC+ and .342 wOBA in those matchups for his career.

Goldschmidt was held out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Brewers as a precaution due to back tightness, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports.

The 34-year-old had a 1.482 OPS during a seven-game hit streak before going 0-for-4 with two strikeouts during Monday's matchup with Milwaukee, though it's unclear when exactly his back started tightening up. It doesn't appear to be a significant injury since manager Oliver Marmol labeled Goldschmidt's absence as a precautionary measure, so the veteran slugger should be considered day-to-day for now.

Goldschmidt is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Brewers, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports.

Goldschmidt went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts during Monday's series opener in Milwaukee and will take a seat for Tuesday's contest. Brendan Donovan will shift to first base while Juan Yepez serves as the designated hitter.

The Reds reinstated Solano (hamstring) from the 60-day injured list Tuesday.

Cincinnati swapped Solano off the 60-day IL in exchange for lefty starting pitcher Nick Lodolo (back), who was transferred from the 10-day IL since he was already on track to miss more than two months with his injury. The righty-hitting Solano is expected to serve as a short-side platoon option at second base, third base or shortstop for Jonathan India, Kyle Farmer or Brandon Drury, depending on which player the Reds want to extend a breather on a given day.

The Rockies recalled Montero from Triple-A Albuquerque on Tuesday.

Montero joins the 26-man active roster as a replacement for reliever Chad Smith, who was demoted to Triple-A on Sunday after the Rockies needed to reduce their pitching staff to 13 men to begin the week. While he's up in the big leagues, the righty-hitting Montero is expected to serve as a reserve utility man, with most of his starts likely to come against left-handed pitching.

Cronenworth went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, a stolen base and a walk in Monday's 4-1 win over the Diamondbacks.

Cronenworth tied the game at 1-1 in the first inning. In the third, he added a walk and his first stolen base of the year on his first attempt. The second baseman has hit safely in eight straight games, going 17-for-32 (.531) with a homer and six doubles in that span. The 28-year-old is slashing .259/.349/.422 with seven long balls, 41 RBI, 43 runs scored and 18 doubles through 68 contests overall. He hit third in Monday's contest with Manny Machado (ankle) out, but Cronenworth has typically batted second for much of June.

Rivas will start at first base and bat ninth in Monday's game against the Pirates.

After going 3-for-6 with a walk and two runs scored in the Cubs' final two games of their weekend series with Atlanta, Rivas will stick in the lineup for the third contest in a row. He looks like he'll serve as the Cubs' primary first baseman while Frank Schwindel (back) is on the 10-day injured list.

Smith was recalled by the Mets on Monday, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

Smith has hit a respectable .266/.347/.438 in 15 games since being demoted to Triple-A Syracuse at the end of May, though his return may be less about his own numbers and more about the fact that teams are limited to 13 pitchers for the rest of the season. The Mets needed to call up an extra bat, and Smith is their best option, but if he's to carve out a meaningful role the rest of the way he'll have to hit far better than the .235/.301/.346 line he's managed since the start of last season.
