Naylor is back in the Guardians' lineup for Friday's game against the Mets.

Naylor missed two contests with left leg tightness but is feeling well enough to give it a go. He'll be the designated hitter while Josh Bell handles first base.

Guerrero (knee) ran the bases at Rogers Centre before Friday's game, Rob Longley of the Toronto Sun reports.

Longley added that Guerrero was running the bases "aggressively." The Blue Jays have not released their lineup for Friday's game versus the Orioles yet, but given that he served as a pinch hitter Thursday, Guerrero would seem to have a good shot at playing.

Guerrero (knee) was brought on as a pinch hitter in the seventh inning of Thursday's loss to the Yankees and drove in a run with a sacrifice fly.

The first baseman sat out Wednesday's game after tweaking his knee Tuesday while attempting to field a bunt, but the fact that the Blue Jays were willing to let Guerrero hit a day later is a strong sign his absence should be brief. He's slashing .312/383/.516 on the year with seven homers and 27 RBI in 41 games.

Alonso went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in a 3-2 win against Tampa Bay on Thursday.

Alonso took rookie Taj Bradley deep in the fourth inning, slugging a 446-foot bomb to center field. It was the third straight game with a homer for Alonso, though he hasn't had any other hits during that stretch. He has produced six RBI in those three games, however, and he now ranks fourth in the majors with 37 runs batted in while also pacing MLB with 16 homers.

Goldschmidt went 0-for-2 with three walks, a stolen base and three runs scored in Thursday's 16-8 win over the Dodgers.

Goldschmidt went hitless for a third straight game, but he's logged at least one walk in five of his last six contests. With his ability to keep the line moving, he was able to get involved in the run scoring. He stole second in the fourth inning, allowing Oscar Mercado to steal home. For the season, Goldschmidt is slashing .302/.400/.517 with six steals, seven home runs, 23 RBI and 31 runs scored across 44 contests.

Freeman went 2-for-5 with a triple, a homer and four RBI in Thursday's 16-8 loss against the Cardinals.

Freeman gave the Dodgers life with a sixth-inning grand slam to cut the deficit to two. The veteran first baseman also tripled in the fifth, but his teammates failed to bring him home. Freeman is producing another excellent season with a .918 OPS, eight home runs, 36 runs and 27 RBI. He even has six stolen bases and could surpass his career high of 13, which he set in 2022.

Arias went 2-for-4 with a double and a solo home run in Thursday's victory over the White Sox.

Arias turned a fastball into a 425-foot homer to get Cleveland on the board. He got the start at first base Thursday but has played all four infield positions and right field in 2023. He's slashing .190/.261/.333 with two homers and no additional RBI in 69 plate appearances, making it unlikely that he moves out of his current utility role.

Guerrero (knee) participated in batting practice and did some running Thursday, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Guerrero is out of the Jays' lineup for Thursday's contest, but it's possible he's available for a pinch-hit opportunity. The 24-year-old slugger was pulled from Tuesday's game against New York due to right knee discomfort, but a trip to the injured list doesn't seem likely at this point.

An MRI on Vlad Jr.'s right knee came back negative, but he remains a bit sore, so he'll get at least one more day of rest. Brandon Belt is at first base and Alejandro Kirk will be the designated hitter.

It's the second straight game he's missed due to left leg tightness. Gabriel Arias will handle first base while Naylor gets some more rest.
