Tigers' Kody Clemens: Recalled from Triple-A
Clemens was recalled from Triple-A Toledo on Thursday.
Clemens was optioned to Toledo earlier this month, but he was brought back to take the roster spot of Kerry Carpenter (back), who was placed on the injured list in a corresponding move. Clemens, who owns a .504 OPS at the top level this season, figures to fill a super-utility role over the final week of the campaign.

Tigers' Spencer Torkelson: Resting for day game
Torkelson is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Royals.

Christian Walker 1B | HOU
Diamondbacks' Christian Walker: Knocks in three in win
Walker went 1-for-4 with three RBI in Wednesday's 5-2 extra-inning win over the Astros.
Walker delivered a run in the first inning on a sacrifice fly and followed with a two-out, two-run single in the 10th. The 31-year-old first baseman has a team-high and career-high 91 RBI through 154 games. Walker, who also leads the team with 36 home runs, resuscitated his career in 2022 after a couple of down seasons. He's still under team control for the next two years and is almost certain to return as the primary first baseman in 2023.

Gabriel Arias SS | CLE
Guardians' Gabriel Arias: Slugs first career homer
Arias went 1-for-3 with a solo home run Wednesday against the Rays.
Arias took Tyler Glasnow yard in the third inning to tally the first home run of his big-league career. He has started only sporadically since being recalled Sept. 21, though he has spelled Andres Gimenez and Jose Ramirez as the team appears to be giving some of its regulars rest after clinching the AL Central on Sunday. Arias has only 34 career plate appearances at the big-league level, but he has managed two extra-base hits, five RBI and five runs scored in that span.

Matt Olson 1B | ATL
Braves' Matt Olson: Crushes 30th home run
Olson went 2-for-3 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 3-2, extra-inning loss against Washington.
The Atlanta slugger took an 0-2 fastball from Josiah Gray the opposite way to left field for his 30th home run of the season and tie the game at 1-1. Olson's bat has come back to life the last couple of days after he received a breather Sept. 24 in response to a .111/.210/.167 slash line in his first 81 September plate appearances. Since the breather, he is 5-for-14 with three extra-base hits.

Bell is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Dodgers, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Yandy Diaz 1B | TB
Rays' Yandy Diaz: Scratched from Wednesday's lineup
Diaz was scratched from Wednesday's lineup against the Guardians, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.
Diaz was initially slated to lead off Wednesday but was removed from the starting nine less than an hour before the start of the game. While the team hasn't yet revealed the reason for scratching him from the lineup, it seems likely that it's related to the left shoulder soreness that kept him out for the last seven games. However, the 31-year-old will be available off the bench if needed Wednesday. Isaac Paredes will shift to the hot corner while Ji-Man Choi enters the lineup at first base.

Rizzo isn't in the lineup Wednesday against Toronto.
Rizzo was productive over the first two games of the series in Toronto, going 4-for-8 with a double and an RBI. He'll get a breather for the series finale while Marwin Gonzalez starts at first base and bats sixth.
