Anthony Rizzo 1B | NYY
Yankees' Anthony Rizzo: Unlikely to play in ALDS
Rizzon (fractured finger) is not expected to be available for the ALDS, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.
Rizzo is viewed as a "long shot" to be available for the Yankees' first series of the postseason according to manager Aaron Boone. The first baseman suffered a fractured finger in Saturday's 9-4 loss to Pittsburgh and if he's unavailable, Ben Rice will likely remain with the team to open the postseason.

Rhys Hoskins 1B | MIL
Brewers' Rhys Hoskins: Absent from Sunday's lineup
Hoskins is not in the starting lineup for Sunday's game against the Mets.
Hoskins will rest for the regular-season finale as Jake Bauers starts at first base and bats in the cleanup spot. Barring a pinch-hit appearance Sunday, Hoskins will end the 2024 regular season with a .214/.303/.419 slash line, 26 home runs and 82 RBI across 515 plate appearances.

Anthony Rizzo 1B | NYY
Yankees' Anthony Rizzo: Still on active roster
The Yankees opted not to place Rizzo (fractured finger) on the injured list Sunday in order to keep the possibility alive that he could be an option for the ALDS, Jorge Castillo of ESPN.com reports.
Rizzo's availability will reportedly depend on pain tolerance. Ben Rice was recalled to start at first base Sunday in Rizzo's place, and the rookie could replace him on the postseason roster if the veteran first baseman can't give it a go.

Ben Rice C | NYY
Yankees' Ben Rice: Recalled Sunday
Rice was recalled from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Sunday.
The lefty-hitting Rice draws the start at first base and will bat eighth against lefty Bailey Falter and the Pirates. Anthony Rizzo is hoping to be available in the postseason despite suffering a fractured finger Saturday, but Rice could be an injury replacement if Rizzo is unavailable.

Freddie Freeman 1B | LAD
Dodgers' Freddie Freeman: On track for Game 1
Manager Dave Roberts said Sunday that he fully expects Freeman (ankle) to be in the lineup for Game 1 of the NLDS, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.
It's not quite a lock that Freeman will be ready, since the skipper is discussing contingency plans that would involve Enrique Hernandez starting at the hot corner and Max Muncy shifting to first base. Freeman exited Thursday's game with an ankle injury and was seen on crutches and in a walking boot as the Dodgers looked to keep the swelling down.

Bryce Harper DH | PHI
Phillies' Bryce Harper: Sitting for regular-season finale
Harper is absent from Sunday's lineup against Washington.
Harper will begin Sunday's contest in the dugout as Alec Bohm starts at first base and bats fifth. Unless Harper pinch hits, he'll end the regular season with a slash line of .285/.373/.525, seven stolen bases, 30 home runs and 87 RBI across 631 plate appearances.

Jonathan Singleton 1B | HOU
Astros' Jon Singleton: Not starting Sunday
Singleton is absent from Sunday's lineup against the Guardians.
Singleton will sit for the regular-season finale after going 0-for-3 with two walks and one RBI in Saturday's 4-3 win over Cleveland. Zach Dezenzo will start at first base Sunday and bat fifth.

Ryan O'Hearn 1B | BAL
Orioles' Ryan O'Hearn: Homers in back-to-back games
O'Hearn went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run in Saturday's 9-2 win over the Twins.
O'Hearn has homered in back-to-back games after going 25 contests without a long ball. The slugger set a career high with his 15th homer of the year. He's added a .261/.330/.424 slash line, 59 RBI, 58 runs scored and three stolen bases over 141 games this year as a strong-side platoon option at first base, designated hitter and the corner outfield spots.

Mark Canha 1B | SF
Giants' Mark Canha: To IL with thumb sprain
Canha was placed on the 10-day injured list Sunday with a right thumb sprain.
Canha has played his final game of 2024 and will enter free agency this offseason. The righty-hitting 35-year-old will be eligible at first base and outfield in fantasy next year, but he only managed seven home runs and seven steals in 462 plate appearances this season.
