  • Jahmai Jones 2B | DET

Orioles' Jahmai Jones: Designated for assignment

Jones (elbow) was designated for assignment by the Orioles on Saturday.

Jones has been at Triple-A Norfolk to begin the season, but he underwent Tommy John surgery Friday and will likely miss the rest of the year. The 24-year-old will cede his spot on the 40-man roster but will likely remain in the organization if he goes unclaimed on waivers.

  • Jorge Polanco 1B | NYM

Twins' Jorge Polanco: Clubs fifth homer

Polanco went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run and a second run scored in Friday's 10-7 win over the Royals.

Making his return from a three-game absence due to a minor ankle issue, Polanco got the Twins on the board by taking Brad Keller deep in the first inning. The infielder is slashing .237/.335/.385 on the year with five homers, two steals, 20 runs and 26 RBI through 42 games.

  • Nicky Lopez 3B | CHC

Royals' Nicky Lopez: Snatches fourth steal

Lopez went 3-for-4 with a walk, a run scored, an RBI and a stolen base in Friday's 10-7 loss to the Twins.

The 27-year-old infielder appears to be regaining something close to his 2021 form. Over his last 12 games, Lopez has hit .279 (12-for-43) and notched all four of his steals on the season.

  • Gleyber Torres 2B | DET

Yankees' Gleyber Torres: Belts eighth homer

Torres went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 2-0 win over the Rays.

He supplied the winning run when he took Jeffrey Springs deep in the fourth inning. Torres is putting up good numbers with regular playing time, slashing .271/.317/.508 over his last 16 games. Over that span, he's hit four of his eight homers on the year and also tallied nine RBI and 11 runs.

  • Andy Ibanez 2B | NYM

Rangers' Andy Ibanez: Delivers game-winning knock

Ibanez went 1-for-1 with a two-run single and scored a run in Friday's 8-5 win over the Athletics.

Ibanez, who had just two hits over his previous 43 at-bats (.047), stepped in as a pinch hitter for Eli White in the ninth inning of an even game and delivered a go-ahead two-run single. He later came around to score an insurance run. Ibanez is typically out of the starting lineup against lefties, as was the case Wednesday and Friday. With Oakland southpaw Zach Logue the projected starter Saturday, Ibanez figures to be on the bench for the third time in four games.

  • Marcus Semien 2B | NYM

Rangers' Marcus Semien: Swipes bag, collects three hits

Semien went 3-for-5 with two runs scored, one RBI and a stolen base in Friday's 8-5 win over Oakland.

Semien singled and scored in both the first and eighth innings before driving in a run and stealing second base in the ninth. It's been a slow start to his career in Texas but it seems like he could be breaking out of his funk. Semien has gone 12-for-37 (.324) with four steals over his last nine games, raising his season slash line to .193/.246/.251 through 43 games.

  • Andy Ibanez 2B | NYM

Rangers' Andy Ibanez: Heads to bench Friday

Ibanez is out of the lineup for Friday's game at Oakland.

Ibanez is 3-for-46 through 16 games in May and will take a seat for the second time in the past three days. Charlie Culberson will start at third base in his place.
