Brandon Lowe 2B | PIT
Rays' Brandon Lowe: Homers in third consecutive game
Lowe went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and three RBI in Friday's loss to the Blue Jays.
Lowe remained hot in Friday's series opener against the Blue Jays, but the Rays' bullpen struggled late in the game. Lowe has multiple RBI in each of the past three games, and he's carrying a 1.096 OPS with six home runs and 19 RBI over the first 20 games of the season.

Tony Kemp 2B | MIN
Athletics' Tony Kemp: Could shift up to second in order
Kemp is a candidate to fill the No. 2 spot in the order during Ramon Laureano's four-game suspension, which begins Friday, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
The veteran infielder has seen action in 13 of the Athletics' first 17 games, slashing .259/.429/.259 across 36 plate appearances. Kemp has yet to hit any higher than eighth in his 10 starts during that span, but his 22.2 percent walk rate and speed make him a candidate for a spot near the top of the order against right-handed pitching.

Xavier Edwards 2B | MIA
Rays' Xavier Edwards: Joins player pool
Edwards was added to the Rays' player pool Friday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Edwards came over from the Padres in the Tommy Pham trade over the winter. He's an interesting prospect, with plenty of speed and the ability to hit for average, though he's unlikely to help the Rays this season as he's yet to reach Double-A.

Christian Arroyo 2B | NYM
Red Sox's Christian Arroyo: Expected to join 28-man roster
The Red Sox are planning on recalling Arroyo to their 28-man roster after claiming him off waivers Thursday, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.
It's hard to imagine Arroyo finding a substantial role in Boston, but the 25-year old's ability to play multiple infield positions could earn him some at-bats going forward. Arroyo did not get an at-bat in his brief time with Cleveland before being designated for assignment Aug. 6.

Brandon Lowe 2B | PIT
Rays' Brandon Lowe: Stays hot at plate
Lowe went 2-for-5 with a home run, three RBI and three runs scored Thursday against the Red Sox.
Lowe began his productive effort at the plate with a deep home run to right field for his fifth long ball of the season. He followed that up with a timely single in the fourth inning, as well as a lineout that drove in a run in the eighth frame. He's maintained an impressive .309/.382/.676 line across 76 plate appearances to this point in the campaign.

Christian Arroyo 2B | NYM
Red Sox's Christian Arroyo: Claimed by Red Sox
Arroyo was claimed off waivers by the Red Sox on Thursday.
Arroyo was designated for assignment by Cleveland earlier in the week, but he'll find a new home with Boston. The former top-100 prospect hasn't appeared in the majors yet this year. He's largely struggled over limited action in the big leagues over the past three seasons, slashing .215/.280/.342 with six home runs and 27 RBI over 70 games with the Rays and Giants.

Jonathan Arauz 3B | LAD
Red Sox's Jonathan Arauz: Getting another start
Arauz will start at second base and bat seventh Thursday against the Rays.
After rapping out five hits in the first two games of the series with Tampa Bay while starting at third base in place of a banged-up Rafael Devers, Arauz shifted back to a reserve role Wednesday. Arauz still produced off the bench with an RBI single and a run scored in the 9-5 loss, and he'll now get the opportunity to pick up a start in the middle infield in the series finale while Xander Bogaerts (lower body) gets a day off to tend to a minor injury.

Michael Chavis 2B | CIN
Red Sox's Michael Chavis: Heads back to bench
Chavis is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Rays, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.
Chavis went 4-for-13 with a double and a triple while starting in each of the past three games, but the Rays rolled out left-handed starting pitchers in two of those contests. With a right-hander (Tyler Glasnow) on the bump for Tampa Bay in the series finale, Chavis will return to the bench as Mitch Moreland checks back in at first base. Chavis still looks like a short-side platoon player for Boston, limiting his fantasy appeal mainly to AL-only formats and deeper mixed leagues.

Brandon Lowe 2B | PIT
Rays' Brandon Lowe: Multiple extra-base hits
Lowe went 3-for-5 with a double, a two-run home run and three runs overall in a win over the Red Sox on Wednesday.
The hot-hitting Lowe's second-inning shot with Austin Meadows aboard extended the Rays' lead to 4-0 and his hitting streak to four games. Wednesday's multi-hit effort, Lowe's first since Aug. 4, vaulted both his monthly and season average over the .300 mark, and six (three doubles, three homers) of his 10 hits thus far in August have now gone for extra bases.
