Elvis Andrus 2B | ARI
Rangers' Elvis Andrus: Drives in three
Andrus went 3-for-5 with three RBI and a run scored in the Rangers' 7-6 defeat to the Red Sox on Thursday.
Andrus is locked in at the dish at the moment, as he's now hit safely in 11 of his last 12 games, posting six multi-hit efforts over that span. The hot streak brings the 30-year-old shortstop's slash line on the season to .313/.349/.469 to go along with six homers and 38 RBI through 243 at-bats.

Christian Arroyo 2B | NYM
Rays' Christian Arroyo: Actually headed to IL
Contrary to previous reports, Arroyo was not optioned to Triple-A Durham on Wednesday; he was placed on the 10-day injured list with an elbow injury, Josh Tolentino of The Athletic reports.
Arroyo apparently picked up the injury during Wednesday's loss to the Athletics, during which he started at third base and went 2-for-4 with a run scored. Specifics regarding the issue are not yet known, leaving his return date unclear. Hunter Wood was recalled from Triple-A in a corresponding roster move.

Christian Arroyo 2B | NYM
Rays' Christian Arroyo: Sent to Triple-A
Arroyo was optioned to Triple-A Durham following Wednesday's loss to the Athletics, Eduardo A. Encina of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Arroyo received the start at third base Wednesday and went 2-for-4 with a run scored, but he will nonetheless head back to Triple-A with Joey Wendle (wrist) returning from the injured list. Arroyo has struggled in the majors this season overall with a .220/.304/.380 slash line and 18 strikeouts in 57 plate appearances.

Nicky Lopez 3B | CHC
Royals' Nicky Lopez: Gets breather
Lopez is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Tigers.
Lopez is slashing just .133/.133/.200 through eight games this month, so he'll retreat to the bench to clear his head following a string of seven consecutive starts. In his place, Whit Merrifield is covering the keystone, with Terrance Gore sliding over to right field.

Jorge Polanco 1B | NYM
Twins' Jorge Polanco: Three-hit day
Polanco went 3-for-3 with two doubles, an RBI and a run scored Tuesday in the Twins' 6-5 win over the Mariners.
Polanco's three-hit performance vaulted him into the American League lead in batting average, with his .341 mark outpacing the Rays' Austin Meadows (.333) heading into Wednesday's action. The shortstop has supplemented the lofty average with plenty of power production, as he's already amassed 35 extra-base hits (10 home runs, 20 doubles, five triples).

Christian Arroyo 2B | NYM
Rays' Christian Arroyo: Re-enters lineup
Arroyo will start at third base and bat ninth Wednesday against the Athletics.
Arroyo enjoyed a stretch of seven consecutive starts earlier in the month, but he looks like little more than a short-side platoon player at this point. He'll enter the lineup for only the third time in the last seven games, filling in at the hot corner while Yandy Diaz moves over to first base in place of a resting Ji-Man Choi.

Brandon Lowe 2B | PIT
Rays' Brandon Lowe: Resting against lefty
Lowe is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Athletics.
Lowe will head to the bench along with fellow regulars Ji-Man Choi and Kevin Kiermaier as the Rays stock up on extra right-handed bats to counter Athletics southpaw Brett Anderson. Daniel Robertson will man second base while Lowe rests.

Michael Chavis 2B | CIN
Red Sox's Michael Chavis: Bats ninth Tuesday
Chavis started at first base and batted ninth in Tuesday's 9-5 loss to the Rangers. He went 1-for-4 with a double and a run scored.
This was the first time Chavis started a game batting last in the order. He was the toast of Boston when he had a .981 OPS over his first 26 major-league games, but he's dropped off considerably since. In the following 21 games, Chavis has a .538 OPS with four extra-base hits in 76 at-bats. He'll continue to get playing time, considering Boston is thin at first base with both Mitch Moreland (quadriceps) and Steve Pearce (back) sidelined. However, for the time being, his fantasy allure has worn off.

Jose Altuve 2B | HOU
Astros' Jose Altuve: Nearing rehab assignment
Altuve (hamstring) could begin a rehab assignment as soon as Friday, Jake Kaplan of The Athletic reports.
Altuve ran the bases over the weekend and completed another on-field workout Tuesday. After Tuesday's activity, the second baseman told Greg Bailey of KTRK Houston that this is the best he's felt in a "long time." If he avoids any issues with the hamstring in his return to game action, Altuve could potentially rejoin the team on the road next week. He was hardly running at all before suffering the injury, and the batting average was way down, but a career-best hard-hit rate portends improvement in that department.

Cavan Biggio RF | HOU
Blue Jays' Cavan Biggio: Heads to bench
Biggio is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against Baltimore.
Biggio has gone hitless in 10 of his 13 career major-league games. Eric Sogard starts at second base in his absence.
