Lopez went 1-for-3 with a walk, a double, two runs scored and a stolen base in Friday's 6-4 win over the Mets.

The 25-year-old infielder had been sidelined since June 30 with lower-back inflammation, but Lopez looked fully recovered in his return to the lineup. He got the start at second base Friday and batted fifth, and Lopez will likely remain at the keystone the rest of the year as the Marlins let him settle in next to shortstop Xavier Edwards as their potential double-play combo of the present and future.

McNeil went 3-for-4 with two home runs and three RBI in Friday's 6-4 loss to the Marlins.

The 32-year-old very nearly kept the Mets in the game single-handedly, launching a solo shot off Edward Cabrera in the fifth inning to get his team on the board and then slugging a two-run blast to right field off Andrew Nardi in the sixth. McNeil appears to have turned things around at the plate, and over his last 20 games he's slashing .271/.302/.525 with four of his seven homers on the season and 12 of his 27 RBI.

Gorman isn't in the Cardinals' lineup for the first game of Saturday's doubleheader versus Atlanta.

Gorman will take a seat to begin Saturday's festivities and will likely be back in the lineup for the nightcap. His absence in the early game will move Brendan Donovan to second base while Alec Burleson starts in left field, moving Willson Contreras into the DH spot with Pedro Pages at catcher.

Castro (shoulder) began a rehab assignment Thursday and has gone 1-for-6 with a run scored and an RBI between two games in the rookie-level Florida Complex League and Single-A Clearwater.

After failing to win a spot on the Phillies' Opening Day roster, Castro was optioned to Triple-A Lehigh Valley coming out of spring training. He appeared in just two games for Lehigh Valley before being placed on the 7-day injured list April 3 with left shoulder subscapular bursitis, per Tom Housenick of The Allentown Morning Call. Lehigh Valley later transferred Castro to its 60-day injured list, but since he's already missed more than two months with the injury, he'll be eligible for activation once he completes his rehab assignment.

India went 1-for-4 with a stolen base and an RBI in Friday's 8-5 loss to Washington.

India singled in the Reds' first run then stole a bag in the third inning. The steal was his ninth of the season. India once again batted atop the order, as normal leadoff hitter TJ Friedl (hamstring) remains on the injured list. Friedl could return next week. Eventually, when second baseman Matt McLain (shoulder) is ready to return, Cincinnati manager David Bell will likely need to find a home for India's bat.

Wilson went 3-for-5 with a home run and two RBI in Friday's 8-7 loss to the Pirates.

Wilson extended the Phillies lead to 3-0 with an RBI single in the first inning before launching a solo home run off Martin Perez in the third, his first long ball this year. The 29-year-old utility player had gone just 1-for-8 in four games before Friday's outburst. Following Whit Merrifield's release, Wilson should remain with the Phillies in a bench role, and he could see the occasional start against left-handed pitching. He has displayed some power at the minor-league level, slugging 31 home runs last year with Triple-A Lehigh Valley before slashing .240/.340/.487 with 18 homers in 71 games at the level this season.

Garcia (shoulder) is batting sixth and playing second base Friday against the Reds.

Garcia was scratched from Sunday's game with left shoulder soreness but is back in the lineup as expected coming out of the All-Star break. The second baseman was on a five-game hit streak before the break, going 7-for-18 with two doubles and a solo home run during that stretch.

Stott is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Pirates.

Stott will take a seat Friday with southpaw Martin Perez on the mound for Pittsburgh. In his place, Edmundo Sosa will handle the keystone and bat sixth. Stott has a .676 OPS with six homers and 22 stolen bases this season.

The Marlins activated Lopez (back) from the 10-day injured list Friday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Lopez has missed much of July with a back injury but is ready to roll after playing a few rehab games. He is starting at second base and batting fifth for the Marlins in Friday's series opener versus the Mets.

Cardinals GM John Mozeliak said Sunday that Edman (wrist) will need to be ready to play all his defensive positions and have his proper timing at the plate before completing his minor-league rehab assignment and being activated from the 60-day injured list, Wilson Truong of KMOX News Radio reports.

The 29-year-old began a rehab assignment with Double-A Springfield last week but has exclusively played at designated hitter in his first four games, and Edman will need to see significant action in the field before joining the Cardinals. He has yet to see major-league action this season while recovering from offseason wrist surgery, and his rehab has been bumpy due to setbacks and other minor injuries. Given the length of his absence, Edman will likely need a couple more weeks in the minors to get up to speed, putting him on track to return in late July or early August.
