Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Gets Wednesday off
Marte is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cardinals.
Marte will take a seat for the first time since April 9, ending a streak of 13 consecutive starts during which he slashed a blistering .364/.413/.564 with two home runs, seven RBI and 12 runs. Kevin Newman will replace Marte at second base in the series finale in St. Louis.

Brendan Rodgers 2B | COL
Rockies' Brendan Rodgers: Launches grand slam in win
Rodgers went 1-for-4 with a grand slam in the Rockies 7-4 win over the Padres on Tuesday.
Rodgers stepped up to the plate in the fourth with the bases juiced and sent a 421-foot blast to left-center field to put the Rockies in front 5-4 and they would never look back. It was his first career grand slam, his first RBI since April 13 and his first extra-base hit since April 12. It's been a rough go at the plate early on for the 27-year-old, as he's slashing just .197/.230/.324 with seven RBI, nine runs and a 3:20 BB:K in 74 plate appearances.

Tucupita Marcano 2B | SD
Padres' Tucupita Marcano: Taking grounders
Marcano (knee) has been taking groundballs as he begins to ramp up his baseball activities, per MLB.com.
Marcano continues to rehab from the ACL surgery he underwent in August of last year. The 24-year-old was placed on the 10-day IL on March 19, so he'll be eligible to return as soon as he's physically ready to do so. Given that Marcano didn't see any spring training action, he'll likely require an extended rehab assignment in the minors before the Padres consider promoting him to the big-league roster.

Santiago Espinal 3B | CIN
Reds' Santiago Espinal: Three hits, homer in win
Espinal went 3-for-4 with a home run and two total RBI in Tuesday's 8-1 victory over the Phillies.
After picking up a pair of base hits earlier in the game, Espinal delivered the final blow in Cincinnati's 8-1 victory, smacking a solo home run off Ricardo Pinto in the eighth inning, his first of the season. It's just the second multi-hit game of the year for the 29-year-old Espinal -- he'd been stuck in a 1-for-19 slump over his previous seven contests. Overall, he's slashing .178/.264/.267 with seven RBI, three runs scored and three stolen bases across 17 games. While Espinal's performance Tuesday was encouraging, he'll likely retreat to a bench role when Jonathan India (illness) is ready to return.

Brice Turang 2B | MIL
Brewers' Brice Turang: Swipes two more bags
Turang went 1-for-2 with a walk and two stolen bases in Tuesday's 2-1 loss to the Pirates.
Turang is now 12-for-12 in stolen base attempts this year, tying Elly De La Cruz for the league lead. After a disappointing rookie campaign, the 24-year-old Turang has gotten off to an excellent start this season, batting .319 with an .847 OPS, two homers, 12 runs scored and nine RBI through 21 games.

Jonathan India 2B | CIN
Reds' Jonathan India: Held out again Tuesday
India (illness) remains out of the lineup for Tuesday's contest versus the Phillies.
India has now been out of the lineup for three straight games as he battles a nasty illness. He remains day-to-day. Santiago Espinal will occupy second base again, and it will be Stuart Fairchild in the leadoff spot.

Nolan Gorman 2B | STL
Cardinals' Nolan Gorman: Breaks slump with walk-off blast
Gorman hit a two-run, walk-off home run in his lone at-bat in Monday's 5-3 win over the Diamondbacks.
Gorman was given Monday off, but he ultimately entered the game as a defensive replacement. His lone at-bat ended the game, as he took Kyle Nelson deep in the ninth inning to complete the Cardinals' comeback win. Gorman has four homers, 10 RBI, six runs scored and three doubles over 84 plate appearances this season, but he's slashing just .179/.238/.372 and striking out at a 38.1 percent clip, so he's not out of the woods yet. Gorman should continue to play against most right-handers, but he'll rarely be in the lineup versus southpaws.

Ozzie Albies 2B | ATL
Braves' Ozzie Albies: Could return as soon as Friday
Albies (toe) has begun swinging a bat and could return from the 10-day injured list when first eligible Friday, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.
If he's not quite ready to go Friday, his return would likely come soon after. Albies suffered a fractured right great toe when he was hit by a pitch a week ago, but he actually stayed in to finish that game and has made a rapid recovery. Luis Guillorme and David Fletcher have been handling second base for Atlanta in Albies' absence.

Jonathan India 2B | CIN
Reds' Jonathan India: Remains out of lineup
India (illness) is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Phillies.
India will take a seat for the second game in a row, while outfielder Jake Fraley is withheld from the lineup for a third straight contest as both players battle illnesses. Santiago Espinal will stick in the starting nine for a sixth consecutive contest, manning second base while India gets another day off to recover.

Nolan Gorman 2B | STL
Cardinals' Nolan Gorman: Not in Monday's lineup
Gorman is absent from the lineup for Monday's game against the Diamondbacks.
Gorman was demoted to the eighth spot in the Cardinals lineup for Sunday's 2-0 loss to the Brewers and now finds himself out of the starting nine altogether. Over his last four contests, Gorman has gone 0-for-17 with 10 strikeouts. Gorman could receive more frequent days off if his slump persists much longer.
