Ketel Marte 2B | ARI
Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Swipes first bag
Marte went 1-for-3 with a double, walk and stolen base in a 10-5 loss to San Diego on Sunday.
Marte doubled and stole third in the first inning and later tacked on a walk in the eighth. Arizona's best player had reached base just once through the first three games of the season. It was encouraging to see Marte active on the bases after he notched only three steals across 135 games in 2020 and 2021 combined.

Tony Kemp 2B | MIN
Athletics' Tony Kemp: Knocks three hits
Kemp went 3-for-5 with two RBI in Sunday's 4-1 win over Philadelphia.
Kemp gave Oakland a pair of insurance runs with a ninth-inning single. The 30-year-old has started at second base and hit leadoff in each of the team's first three games.

Brandon Lowe 2B | PIT
Rays' Brandon Lowe: Launches first home run
Lowe went 2-for-5 with a two-run homer and two runs scored in an 8-0 win over the Orioles on Sunday.
Batting leadoff for the second straight day, Lowe picked up his first hit of the year with his second-inning shot that chased Tyler Wells from the game. He later scored on a Wander Franco single in the seventh and finished his day with a pair of strikeouts. Lowe hit leadoff 60 times in 2021, and it looks like he'll continue to own that role against right-handers.

Adam Frazier 2B | LAA
Mariners' Adam Frazier: Timely first hit as Mariner
Frazier went 1-for-5 with an RBI double and a run in a win over the Twins on Saturday.
The offseason acquisition from the Padres picked a good time to break through with his first hit for his new club, delivering a game-tying two-bagger in the ninth inning that plated Julio Rodriguez. Frazier subsequently came around to score what would be the game-winning run on Ty France's hit. While the timely double was just his first hit in 10 at-bats with the Mariners, the fact Frazier has yet to strike out in that sample suggests he should see his luck improve if he continues to make consistent contact.

Jack Mayfield 2B | LAA
Angels' Jack Mayfield: Hitting fourth
Mayfield is starting at third base and hitting fourth Sunday against the Astros, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Mayfield has appeared in two games this season, though Sunday's start will be his first of the campaign. He'll immediately slot into a prominent spot in the order, directly following Shohei Ohtani, Mike Trout and Jared Walsh.

Jose Altuve 2B | HOU
Astros' Jose Altuve: Getting rest Sunday
Altuve is out of the lineup Sunday against the Angels, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Altuve started each of Houston's first three games, but he will get a routine day off Sunday. Aledmys Diaz will start at second base and hit fifth while Niko Goodrum will enter the lineup at first base and hit seventh.

Andres Gimenez SS | TOR
Guardians' Andres Gimenez: Out of Sunday's lineup
Gimenez is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Royals.
Gimenez started at shortstop and second base in the first two games of the campaign and went 1-for-6 with a strikeout. He'll take a seat Sunday versus lefty Kris Bubic while Amed Rosario and Ernie Clement start in the middle infield.

Cavan Biggio RF | HOU
Blue Jays' Cavan Biggio: Out of Sunday's lineup
Biggio is not in Sunday's lineup against Texas.
Biggio started each of Toronto's first two games, batting ninth on each occasion. He'll sit for the first time Sunday, with Santiago Espinal drawing the starting at second base while hitting eighth.

Luis Arraez 2B | SF
Twins' Luis Arraez: Takes seat vs. lefty
Arraez is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mariners, Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reports.
Arraez will head to the bench for the second time in the opening series with Seattle trotting out another left-handed starter in Marco Gonzales. Gio Urshela will start at third base in his place Sunday. Arraez should be back in the lineup for Monday's series finale since righty Chris Flexen is scheduled to pitch for the Mariners.

Luisangel Acuna CF | CHW
Rangers' Luisangel Acuna: Suffers hamstring strain
Acuna will miss at least two weeks with a Grade 1 hamstring strain, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.
Acuna suffered the injury during High-A Hickory's season opener Friday. As long as the injury remains a fairly short-term problem, it shouldn't significantly set his development back this season.
