Espinal went 0-for-2 with a walk and a stolen base Wednesday against Boston.

Espinal received the start at third base in the back half of Wednesday's doubleheader and picked up his third steal of the year in the third inning. The 26-year-old landed on Toronto's roster as a utility infielder but has logged the bulk of his playing time at third base, slashing .315/.361/.419 with one home run and 10 RBI in 133 plate appearances this season. Espinal would likely move back to his original utility role if Toronto acquires a more offensive-minded third baseman prior to the trade deadline.

Hoerner exited Wednesday's game in the seventh inning with an apparent side injury, Russell Dorsey of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Hoerner reportedly grabbed his right side after attempting to check his swing on a strikeout earlier in the game, according to Jordan Bastian of MLB.com. The severity of the injury remains unclear. Meanwhile, Kris Bryant took over at shortstop, his second career appearance at the position.

Biggio is not in the lineup for Game 2 of Wednesday's doubleheader at Boston.

Biggio started the matinee and went 1-for-3 with a pair of strikeouts. The 26-year-old has struggled since the All-Star break, going 5-for-27 with a solo home run, two walks and an additional run scored in nine games. Santiago Espinal will start at third base in the nightcap.

Garcia was recalled from Triple-A Rochester on Wednesday, Jesse Dougherty of The Washington Post reports.

The 21-year-old had a brief stay in the majors in mid-June and will rejoin the big-league club Wednesday after Trea Turner tested positive for COVID-19. Garcia could see some playing time until Turner is cleared to rejoin the team, though his exact role may not come into focus for a bit until the extent of the potential COVID outbreak is known.

Guillorme isn't in the lineup Wednesday against Atlanta, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Guillorme has hit .355 with a home run, two doubles, five runs and three RBI in 12 games since the All-Star break, and he'll get a breather Wednesday. Jonathan Villar will start at shortstop and bat seventh.

Frazier will start at second base and bat leadoff Wednesday against the Athletics, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Since acquiring Frazier from the Pirates on Sunday, the Padres have wasted little time in carving out a meaningful role. He started in left field and led off in Tuesday's 7-4 win against Oakland right-hander James Kaprielian, finishing the night 2-for-5 with two runs. The lefty-hitting Frazier will move to second base for the series finale, this time facing off against southpaw Sean Manaea. He looks set to serve as a full-time leadoff man for San Diego.

Lowe went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's 4-3 loss to the Yankees.

The 27-year-old remains locked in. Over his last 20 games, Lowe is slashing .308/.423/.738 with eight of his career-high 22 homers on the year, a far cry from the .202/.313/.405 line he sported up to that point.

Drury went 3-for-3 with a two-run home run and a second run scored in Tuesday's 12-5 loss to Atlanta.

The veteran utility player didn't even start the game, instead coming on in the fourth inning as part of a double switch and still getting in a full night's worth of production. Drury has been a useful spare part for the Mets this season, slashing .265/.294/.490 with three homers through 51 plate appearances.

McNeil went 2-for-5 with a double and a two-run home run in Tuesday's 12-5 loss to Atlanta.

His fifth-inning blast off Charlie Morton was too little too late, as the Mets were already in a 10-1 hole. McNeil extended his hitting streak to 13 games with the performance, and he's slashing .362/.423/.574 over that stretch with eight runs and 10 RBI in addition to two of his five homers on the year.

Albies went 1-for-4 with a walk, a two-run home run and a second run scored in Tuesday's 12-5 win over the Mets.

It's only his second long ball in July, although both have come in the last five games. On the season, Albies is slashing .258/.319/.494 with 17 homers, 13 steals, 63 runs and 68 RBI through 100 contests.
