Rosario went 3-for-5 with a double and two RBI in Wednesday's 2-1 extra-inning win over the Cubs.

Rosario hit a game-tying RBI double in the sixth inning and a walkoff RBI single in the 10th to drive home both runs for Cleveland. The 25-year-old has recorded multiple hits in three of the seven games he's played this month, but he's 0-for-15 in the other four contests. Overall, Rosario has a .211/.279/.347 slash line with two home runs, nine RBI, 14 runs scored and a stolen base through 104 plate appearances. His versatility has led to playing time at both shortstop and in center field.

Torres is not in the lineup Wednesday as a precaution while awaiting COVID-19 test results, Lindsey Adler of The Athletic reports.

The 24-year-old previously tested positive for the virus and is fully vaccinated, so he should be back with the team within a day or two, assuming he continues to test negative. Tyler Wade will start at shortstop in Torres' place Wednesday.

Red Sox manager Alex Cora said Wednesday that Hernandez (hamstring) could begin a minor-league rehab assignment at Triple-A Worcester by the end of the week, Bill Koch of The Providence Journal reports.

Hernandez was placed on the 10-day injured list May 7 due to a right hamstring strain, but he's not expected to be sidelined much more than the minimum amount of time. While Hernandez has been on the shelf, Marwin Gonzalez has taken over as the Red Sox's primary leadoff hitter.

Castro is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Royals.

Castro had started three of the past four games for Detroit, producing eight hits -- all singles -- in 14 at-bats over that stretch. The 27-year-old still looks set to remain in a utility role for the time being, but he could get a longer trial in an everyday role if primary second baseman Willi Castro (.570 OPS) continues to languish.

Kim will start at shortstop and bat sixth in the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader with the Rockies.

With Fernando Tatis on the injured list for a second time -- this time after testing positive for COVID-19 -- Kim should get another trial as San Diego's everyday shortstop. The 25-year-old rookie has thus far struggled to adapt from the jump from the Korea Baseball Organization to MLB, though his inconsistent playing time probably hasn't helped his cause. Kim is slashing .191/.243/.250 with a 24.3 percent strikeout rate through his first 74 plate appearances in the big leagues.

Pirates director of sports medicine Todd Tomczyk said Wednesday that Peguero is nursing a minor right knee contusion, Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports. "I would highly anticipate seeing [Peguero] back in the [High-A Greensboro] lineup in the coming days," Tomczyk said.

The bruised knee has kept Peguero out of action since Sunday, but the young shortstop looks poised to get back on the field by the end of the week. The 20-year-old was off to a hot start to the season prior to picking up the injury, slashing .389/.450/.778 with two home runs and four stolen bases in his first five games.

Manager David Ross said Hoerner (forearm) remains on track to return from the 10-day injured list when first eligible Friday, Gordon Wittenmyer of NBC Sports Chicago reports.

Hoerner was shut down last week after he sustained a minor left forearm strain in a collision with teammate Ian Happ (ribs) in a May 2 game against the Reds. At this point, Hoerner is further along in his recovery from his injury than Happ, who isn't in line to be activated this weekend. Assuming Hoerner is in fact good to go for Friday's series opener in Detroit, he should reclaim an everyday role at second base immediately.

McNeil (cramps) isn't starting Wednesday against the Orioles.

McNeil was removed from Tuesday's matchup with body cramps, and he'll be held out of the lineup for Wednesday's series finale. Jose Peraza will start at second base and bat seventh. The Mets don't seem to be overly concerned about McNeil, who will be available off the bench Wednesday, according to Deesha Thosar of the New York Daily News.

Frazier is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Reds, Kevin Gorman of TribLive.com reports.

Frazier will sit for just the second time all season in what amounts to a maintenance day after a string of 29 consecutive starts. Wilmer Difo will spell Frazier at second base, while left fielder Ka'ai Tom steps in as the Pirates' leadoff man.

Lux went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run and an additional run scored in Tuesday's 6-4 win over the Mariners.

Lux singled and scored in the seventh inning, but his big hit came in the following frame. With two outs in the eighth and Los Angeles down a run, the third-year second baseman took Rafael Montero deep to plate three runs and vault his team toward a come-from-behind win. The blast was among the biggest hits of Lux's young career considering the context and the fact that a struggling Dodgers club was in danger of falling to .500 on the season. It also helped build upon a recent strong stretch at the plate for Lux, who is hitting .323 (10-for-31) with five RBI over his past eight games.
