Rosario went 3-for-4 with three RBI and a run scored Thursday against the Yankees.

Rosario didn't record an extra-base hit, but delivered timely knocks to record his fourth multi-RBI effort of the campaign. Since returning from an illness Aug. 25, Rosario has collected eight hits in 29 at-bats, also recording five RBI and six runs scored. Overall, he's hitting .229/.243/.349 with zero stolen bases across 111 plate appearances.

Garcia went 3-for-4 with two runs scored Thursday against the Phillies.

All of Garcia's hits were singles and the performance extended his hitting streak to a modest three games. The 20-year-old rookie has been inconsistent in his big-league debut, but has managed a .290/.313/.387 line across 64 plate appearances to this point.

Lux isn't starting Thursday against the Diamondbacks, J.P. Hoornstra of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.

Lux started in each of the four games since joining the major-league club, but his approached at the plate was questioned by manager Dave Roberts on Wednesday. Enrique Hernandez is starting at second base Thursday, but Lux should start during the team's weekend series against the Rockies, Alanna Rizzo of Spectrum SportsNet LA reports.

Altuve will receive an MRI on his right knee Friday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Altuve exited Thursday's series finale against the Rangers with knee discomfort after sliding hard into third base in the first inning. He'll have further tests as the Astros look to determine the severity of the injury. Altuve previously required surgery on the same knee following the 2018 season.

Marte is not in Thursday's lineup against the Dodgers.

Now that the Diamondbacks have thrown in the towel on the season, we could see Marte get a maintenance day here and there to give the team's prospects more opportunities to show what they can do down the stretch. Tim Locastro will get the start in center field while leading off against lefty Clayton Kershaw.

Altuve left Thursday's game with right knee discomfort, Julia Morales of AT&T SportsNet Southwest reports.

The video looked more like a potential groin injury than a knee injury, but this is a bit more concerning. The team may opt to send him for tests, but for now he should be considered day-to-day.

Semien (side) swung the bat Thursday and continues to feel better, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

The hope is that he can avoid an IL stint, although the previous report suggested he wouldn't be able to return until Saturday, at the earliest. Vimael Machin, Chad Pinder and Tony Kemp could all be options to fill in for Semien on Friday against the Padres.

Altuve left Thursday's game after the second inning after suffering an apparent groin injury sliding into third base, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.

The injury looked painful, but we're still waiting on specifics. Aledmys Diaz moved to second base and Abraham Toro entered at third base.

Torres (hamstring) will return Saturday or Sunday in Baltimore, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.

He had been hoping to be back Friday, but it sounds like the earliest he could be activated would be Saturday. Tyler Wade will continue to start at shortstop until Torres returns.

Angels manager Joe Maddon indicated Wednesday that Barreto will play "literally everywhere" throughout the remainder of the season, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Maddon was likely exaggerating in stating that Barreto will play all nine positions on the field, but given the Angels' current place in the standings -- they sit 11.5 games behind first place in the AL West and eight games out of a wild card spot -- it makes sense that they will use the final month of the campaign to evaluate players. Barreto has played exclusively at second base, shortstop and third base during his time in the majors, but he did log nine games in center field and two games in left at the Triple-A level last season.
