Manager Aaron Boone said Friday that Torres (hip) is expected to return prior to Wednesday's game against Tampa Bay, Mandy Ball of MLB.com reports.

Boone said that plan is for Torres to play in a few minor-league games beginning with High-A Tampa on Saturday. Though the club was previously targeting a Monday return for Torres, it looks like the Yankees want to give their young All-Star a little more time to get back to game speed before thrusting him back into the fray.

Motter was called up from Triple-A Rochester on Friday.

Motter has played in seven big-league games for the Twins this season, though he's failed to collect a hit in 11 plate appearances. The 28-year-old will provide additional depth all around the diamond, particularly in right field or at third base.

Drury was recalled from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Friday.

The offseason acquisition hasn't been able to establish himself in New York, having battled both injuries and demotions, and is now firmly behind Miguel Andujar and Gleyber Torres (hip) in the battle for playing time in the Yankees' infield. Drury's .178/.260/.289 line through 50 plate appearances is unlikely to earn him anything greater than a utility role for the time being, but he's been more successful than that in the past and could eventually carve out a larger role if he takes advantage of his opportunities.

Hoerner has been shut down for the season due to a ligament strain in his left elbow, Carrie Muskat of MLB.com reports.

Hoerner suffered the injury during a game at Low-A South Bend while diving for a ball. Although the young shortstop won't require surgery, he'll be held out of baseball activities for the next 4-to-6 weeks as a precaution. Hoerner is slated to head to Arizona to rehab sometime in August with the hope that he'll be healthy enough to play during the fall.

Torres (hip) is slated to begin a rehab assignment at High-A Tampa on Saturday, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.

The Yankees are targeting a return to action July 23 for Torres against the Rays, which would make him an option for activation in the first full week of games after the All-Star break, while effectively ruling him out for the upcoming weekend series against the Mets. Once Torres returns, Neil Walker is expected to return to a backup role.

Diaz was promoted to Triple-A New Orleans on Thursday, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports.

Over his past eight games with Double-A Jacksonville, Diaz hit .393/.485/.893 with four home runs and 12 RBI. The 22-year-old didn't set the world on fire with Jacksonville, posting a .783 OPS over 83 contests, but he will get an opportunity at the Triple-A level for the first time in his career nonetheless. The infielder will need to improve upon a strikeout rate that has hovered around 26 percent over the past two years, but he brings solid defense and speed (10 stolen bases with Jacksonville) to the table along with a developing bat.

Bannon was shipped to Baltimore as part of the Manny Machado trade, J.P. Hoornstra of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.

Bannon doesn't have a ton of prospect pedigree, having been selected 250th overall by the Dodgers in 2017, but he's done nothing but perform since becoming a pro. He posted a .336/.425/.591 line with 10 homers in 40 games for short-season Ogden last season and has followed that up with a .296/.402/.559 line and 20 homers in 89 games for High-A Rancho Cucamonga so far this year. He's still a few years away from challenging for a major-league roster spot.

Torres (hip) was able to complete a live batting practice session Sunday, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.

Torres reportedly looked sharp during the session, launching multiple home runs in his first at-bats against live pitching since July 4. He's expected to begin a brief minor-league rehab assignment in the coming days and should return from the 10-day disabled list shortly after the All-Star break. Neil Walker will be relegated to a bench role once Torres is reinstated.

Arroyo (oblique) went 1-for-4 in Triple-A Durham's win over Syracuse on Monday.

Arroyo was activated and then officially optioned back to the Bulls earlier Monday. The versatile prospect slashed .264/.339/.396 over his 59 big-league plate appearances thus far this season, and he'll look to continue laying the foundation for a possible return to the Rays later in the campaign with some strong play in Durham.

Arroyo (oblique) was activated from the disabled list and optioned to Triple-A Durham on Monday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Arroyo had been out for a month with a strained left oblique. Prior to the injury, he'd hit .264/.339/.396 in 59 big-league plate appearances. He could return to the majors in a utility infield role at some point after the break.
