Jorge Mateo SS | ATL
Orioles' Jorge Mateo: Headed for injured list
The Orioles will place Mateo on the 10-day injured list Thursday due to a dislocated left elbow, Paige Leckie of MLB.com reports.
Mateo suffered the injury during a collision with teammate Gunnar Henderson while attempting to make a diving play in Tuesday's 6-3 loss to the Marlins. Connor Norby, who was added to Baltimore's taxi squad Wednesday, will be recalled from Triple-A Norfolk to fill the opening in the Orioles' infield and is expected to start in Thursday's series finale in Miami.

Thairo Estrada 2B | COL
Giants' Thairo Estrada: Not starting Wednesday
Estrada isn't in the Giants' lineup Wednesday versus the Dodgers, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Estrada went 0-for-2 during Tuesday's loss and will now sit down for the third time in San Francisco's last four games. Brett Wisely will fill the void at second base and bat ninth.

Justin Foscue 1B | TEX
Rangers' Justin Foscue: Hitting bench Wednesday
Foscue is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the White Sox.
Travis Jankowski will get the nod at designated hitter Wednesday after Foscue went 1-for-13 with seven strikeouts while serving as Texas' DH in each of the past four contests. Even if Foscue shows improvement at the plate in his subsequent starting opportunities, it may not be enough to guarantee him an extended stay with the big club. Josh Jung (wrist) is restarting his rehab assignment Friday with Double-A Frisco, and Foscue will be the player most at risk of losing out on regular playing time once Jung is activated from the 60-day injured list.

Jorge Mateo SS | ATL
Orioles' Jorge Mateo: Taking seat Wednesday
Mateo (elbow) is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Marlins.
Mateo will head to the bench after he was forced out of Tuesday's 6-3 loss with left elbow pain, an injury that stemmed from a collision in the field with teammate Gunnar Henderson. The Orioles sent Mateo in for an MRI and seem to be viewing him as day-to-day, but a trip to the injured list could still be in the cards for the 29-year-old. Baltimore added infielder Connor Norby to its taxi squad Wednesday and could formally call him up from Triple-A Norfolk if Mateo needs to go on the IL.

Gleyber Torres 2B | DET
Yankees' Gleyber Torres: Getting turn in leadoff spot
Torres will start at second base and bat leadoff in Wednesday's game versus the Mets.
After putting Jahmai Jones in the leadoff spot against a lefty Tuesday, Yankees manager Aaron Boone is giving Torres a shot there versus southpaw Sean Manaea in this one. Torres opened the season as the team's leadoff man, but this is the first time he's batted at the top of the order since April 9.

Jamie Westbrook 2B | TB
Red Sox's Jamie Westbrook: Late entry into lineup
Westbrook will start at second base and bat eighth in Wednesday's game versus the Rockies, Alex Speier of The Boston Globe reports.
Westbrook was not part of the initial lineup that was released, but the Red Sox switched things up, shifting Rafael Devers from third base to designated hitter. That allowed Romy Gonzalez to move from second to third and Westbrook to take over at the keystone.
-
Aaron Schunk 3B | ATL
Rockies' Aaron Schunk: Returns to utility role
Schunk is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Red Sox.
Schunk had made starts on the left side of the infield over the past three games, going 2-for-11 with a double, a walk and a run. His first start came Sunday while Ezequiel Tovar sat out due to an illness, while Schunk filled in for Ryan McMahon at third base Monday and Tuesday while McMahon tended to a jammed finger. Both McMahon and Tovar are healthy again and part of the lineup Wednesday, so Schunk will move back into a utility role.
-
Brice Turang 2B | MIL
Brewers' Brice Turang: Sitting against southpaw
Turang is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cubs.
The lefty-hitting Turang will hit the bench for the Brewers' second straight matchup with a left-hander, as he previously sat against Nationals southpaw Mitchell Parker on July 13. Andruw Monasterio will get the nod at the keystone and could continue to occupy the short side of a platoon with Turang moving forward.

Nolan Gorman 2B | STL
Cardinals' Nolan Gorman: Getting afternoon off
Gorman is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Pirates, John Denton of MLB.com reports.
Gorman will be joined on the bench by fellow lefty-hitting regular Michael Siani as the Pirates bring southpaw Martin Perez to the hill for the series finale. Brendan Donovan will cover second base in Gorman's stead.
