  • Cubs' Miles Mastrobuoni: Sent to Triple-A

Mastrobuoni was optioned to Triple-A Iowa on Monday, per MLB's transaction log.

Mastrobuoni went 0-for-10 at the dish over his last three games, and he'll be demoted to the minors now that Dansby Swanson (knee) is ready to be activated from the 10-day IL and Luis Vazquez is ready to get a shot with the big-league club. Mastrobuoni will likely be seen again in the majors this season considering his versatility.

  • Jorge Polanco 2B | NYM

Mariners' Jorge Polanco: Available off bench

Mariners manager Scott Servais said that Polanco (hamstring) will be available off the bench Monday, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

Polanco is missing a sixth straight start Monday, but he's progressed enough with his right hamstring issue that he could enter mid-game, if needed. It would appear he'll have a shot to be back in the lineup Tuesday.

  • Brandon Drury 1B | CHW

Angels' Brandon Drury: Hitting in batting cage

Drury (hamstring) will hit in the batting cage Monday, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Drury is ready to begin reincorporating baseball activities as he works his way back from a left hamstring strain. Running will certainly be a bigger test than hitting, though, and it's not clear when he might be ready to do that.

  • Brice Turang 2B | MIL

Brewers' Brice Turang: Sitting out versus lefty

Turang is not in the lineup for Monday's contest in Miami.

The Marlins are rolling with southpaw Ryan Weathers, so the left-handed hitting Turang will take a seat. Andruw Monasterio will occupy second base for the Brewers.

  • Vaughn Grissom SS | LAA

Red Sox's Vaughn Grissom: Hitting bench Monday

Grissom is out of the lineup for Monday's game at Tampa Bay, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.

Grissom started the previous four games but will take a seat after going 2-for-15 during that stretch. David Hamilton will step in at the keystone and bat seventh in the series opener versus the Rays.

  • Jorge Polanco 2B | NYM

Mariners' Jorge Polanco: Held out again Monday

Polanco (hamstring) remains out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Yankees.

The Mariners have not yet made a roster move with Polanco, but he will miss a sixth straight start Monday with a right hamstring issue. Josh Rojas will handle second base while Luis Urias plays third base.

  • Padres' Xander Bogaerts: Initial imaging returns negative

Bogaerts had preliminary imaging on his left shoulder come back negative Monday, though the Padres are awaiting additional test results, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

The veteran infielder exited Game 1 of Monday's doubleheader after he suffered the injury while making a diving stop at second base. Bogaerts likely won't be available for Monday's nightcap, but he should be considered day-to-day until more information is available.

  • Brandon Lowe 2B | PIT

Rays' Brandon Lowe: Activated from injured list

The Rays activated Lowe (oblique) from the 10-day injured list Monday, Tricia Whitaker of Bally Sports Sun reports.

Lowe had his return from an oblique strain delayed when he had a little setback, but he returned to action on his rehab assignment in recent days and now appears back to 100 percent. He had a .600 OPS with one home run in eight games before getting hurt and will regain his role as Tampa Bay's regular second baseman against right-handers.

  • Padres' Xander Bogaerts: Leaves game with shoulder injury

Bogaerts was removed from Monday's game in Atlanta with an apparent left shoulder injury, Sammy Levitt of 973 The Fan reports.

Bogaerts landed awkwardly while making a diving stop at second base in the third inning and looked to be in considerable pain immediately. He walked off the field under his own power and now could be headed for testing. Bogaerts was retired in his lone plate appearance before departing.

  • Andres Gimenez 2B | TOR

Guardians' Andres Gimenez: Belts two-run shot

Gimenez went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer, two runs scored and a walk in Sunday's win over Minnesota.

Gimenez went deep for a two-run blast in the first inning. He's hit three home runs over his last 18 games after beginning the year in a 26-game drought. Gimenez has gone 12-for-24 over his last six games, boosting his slash line to .277/.337/.387 with 12 extra-base hits and seven steals. He's hitting .300 with a .795 OPS and a 6:8 BB:K over his last 20 appearances.
